We always buy travel insurance that includes emergency evacuation. We have Anthem BC/BS and our policy does not cover outside of the US. Check with your insurance company to see if they cover outside of the US.

I would post this under the Port of Calls. You find lots of useful information there.
Enjoy your cruise on the Brilliance!

We are renting a car from Budget Rental in Fredericia. Does anyone know if there will be taxis available at the cruise port? We will need to get the rental car agency which is located at Gamle Landevej 59, FR9.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, both Latvia and Lithuania use Euros.
Thanks

We just got back from a Baltic cruise. I would say don't miss the Vasa museum. Make sure to see the film they have in the museum that explains what happened plus they have guided tours which give you even more information. Was fascinating.
Hello vmarg,
Curious about currency in Latvia and Lithuania. Euro's?
We are scheduled on the Ultimate Baltic on RCI leaving on July 30th. I was able to get one of the aft cabins that you released.
The VASA museum is on my list. Sounds fascinating.

Perfect as we have booked 2 aft cabins on deck 9 of the radiance [emoji4]
Love the aft cabins on the Radiance class on deck 9.

Enjoying the thread and love the pictures!

Following along! We are on the Serenade in July.
We live in NH and also are flying out of Logan.
Enjoy your cruise:cool:

If you have Marriott points, the Courtyard Miramar can be had for 25K points. Nice hotel with an on-site restaurant, on the bus line to Old San Juan.
Another recommendation for the Courtyard Miramar!

I love the Radiance class. Perfect size for me!

I was interested in booking Alaska. I then read a review over the weekend. It kind of looked like NH white Mountains so not so sure now. NH is a simple 3 hour car ride and I don't need winter gear for the most part in July. ;-)
We live in NH about a one hour drive to the White Mountains and spend lots of time there.
We have done the Alaska cruise and also added on a DIY land tour. We will be going back to Alaska! The majesty of the Alaskan landscape took my breath away.
No way to compare the two. Different landscape and different weather.

Thank you all for your information. I thought that an one hour layover might be cutting it close. We have done that once connecting through Dublin going to Barcelona. Pretty stressful for me. The flights that I were looking at were listed on the Royal Caribean Air2Sea site. I checked the British Airways site and found better connections. The difference in cost was minimal.

Looking for information on Heathrow airport. I found some great prices on British
Airways Boston to Stockholm return Copenhagen to Boston. They both connect in Heathrow with layovers of 1 hour. Given the size of Heathrow I am wondering if that will be enough time to make the connecting flight.

Thanks! I use a Canon EOS Rebel T3 with an 18-200 lens, which seems to cover almost everything! I used a 10-22 lens for the outside photos from Church of Spilled Blood. I use that lens for tall churches. :)
This was just a fantastic cruise! Are you going on the Serenade?
Yes we are sailing on the Serenade leaving on July 30, 2017. Same exact cruise. The Air2Sea website has some decent prices on airfare. Unfortunately there are no non stops from Boston. I am also checking on hotels. What was the price to taxi to the Sheraton?
I use the same camera. I don't have the 18-200 lens. I think that I will look at getting one before the trip. It takes great pictures.

Enjoying this review. Can't wait to do this cruise next year.
Beautiful photos. What type of camera did you use?

We have booked a cruise for 2017 embarking on Stockholm and disembarking in Copenhagen. We are flying out of Boston. I found great rates through the Air2Sea program with RCI.

Following your review. Great pictures.

We stayed at the Sheraton Stockholm and it had AC.
Thanks Donna, I started reading your review as well. Looking forward to this cruise next year. :)

So my MIL says: "Lady Hamilton Hotel. Thecollectorshotel.se Boutique hotels in Gamla (old town) Very close to the Royal Palace, cathedral and Nobel Museum. Comfortable but no air conditioning. Staff was super friendly and very willing to help with all questions. I would stay there again"
Hope that helps some :)
Thanks for the information. I'll check it out. Many of the hotels do not have air conditioning in Stockholm.
Enjoying your review.:)

Ok Everyone, I apologize for not posting more today.
For those who don't know Ali and me personally, we own and operate a horse farm in Maryland, along with having our days jobs (I'm and educator, and Ali is a computer programer). Anyways, I was doing my barn chores this morning and got stung by a bee. I am highly allergic and had to be rushed to the hospital. Im home and ok now, but I have to go to work early in the morning so I will be unable to post tonight :( Sorry. I get off of work in the early evening tomorrow and Ill be sure to post at least the next two days of the cruise, hoping to get to Helsinki. Thank you all for your patients and understanding. Have a great night and see everyone tomorrow :)
Hope you are feeling better today!
-
Yes, my MIL, FIL, BIL, and Aunt-in-law went 3 days early and stayed in "old town" Ill ask them for the hotel name and their experience with it tomorrow :)
Thanks!

I know that you arrived the day of embarking but was wondering if you had any members of your group may have arrived early and stayed in a hotel in Stockholm. If so do you know were they stayed?
Thanks

Depending on how long you are in port. We did the Barcelona around trip with stops in Rome, Livorno and Venice. We arranged a private tour in Livorno and were able to spend time in both Pisa/Leaning Tower and Florence. The Port of Call boards are full of information on these ports. It may be helpful in planning your cruise.
Happy sailing!
