We were on the Dream almost a year ago now :( Sept 13-20, 2015
The doors were metal and we used a magnetic board on ours. No problems what so ever.
Thank you! that is what we needed to know.

When would carnival notify passengers on those sailings if a port is being skipped, substituted or still a go? I'm cruising later in hurricane season and I've been wondering this...

Depends on the circumstances. They notify as soon as they know. Sometimes that means while onboard through an intercom announcement. Sometimes in advance if they know an area has been hit hard and not allowing incoming traffic. They tell passengers when they know.

Is the social media package $25 per person or per cabin?
it's per device i believe.

Do they have detergent, etc available and if so is it part of the charge or do you have to buy it separately? I hope to be able to not do laundry on the ship, but with kids and they way they can go through clothes, I might have to do a load.

Is the room safe operated by using a card of some sort or pin# activated?

Great Review. We are sailing in September on the Dream. Also from IL!
-
Do you know when this will happen. Just says coming soon. I hope by soon they meant before September 18th. :)

We used carnival pvp for our first and now for our 2nd. Love oura. He has answered all my questions quickly.

Thanks everyone. I really think we want to do cave tubing in Belize.
Book through carnival or another reputable company?

We are going on this in September. If you had to pick 1 must do excursion, from these 3 places, what would you choose?

I say manicure if her nails are not done. Then they will be pretty for any pictures of the ring on her finger. If she gets mani pedi before hand when you get to room suggest she unpack while you go and get some snacks/drinks. Just mention it's a little chaotic on lido on embarkatiin day so you'll bring food back to the room so you can unpack and have a snack before muster drill. Just don't forget to come back with food after talking to the manager. ....

Did you notice if it had the Dr. Seuss stuff yet. The site still says coming soon but my PVP told me he thought it would be on there after the dry dock.
-
Thank you for the responses. I appreciate it. We are traveling for the first time. First vacation, first cruise and taking our kids. Trying to find the safest, family appropriate things to do without breaking the bank doing it.

is the straw market a safe walking distance from the dock at Nassau?

Fascination 5/4?
-
Someone else on facebook said they just got off of Fascination last week and was told that Seuss was coming during dry dock. I asked our PVP yesteday and he said it just says coming soon on his screen but he would check into it further. I will let you know what I find out. I would almost guess it comes out during dry dock because it is set to get it by the end of 2015 so during dry docket would seem like a good time to implement something new right? I hope! Because we sail in May.
-
This is listed as coming soon on Fascination. Does anyone know how soon? Is it happening during the dry dock? I messaged our PVP but wondering if anyone else knew the answer.
-
Thanks for the suggestions.

We are leaving from the Jacksonville port in May. What are some good hotels to check into that do the shuttle to and from port? I know I could do a google search for this but figured some personal recommendations would help me a little more than google. Thanks
-
Actually I find a link for you that had a list of carnival tender ports: http://www.shipcruise.org/carnival-cruise-ports-of-call-departure-tender/
Thank you. You are awesome.

I recommend a five day cruise out of Jacksonville on the Fascination. It has the Waterworks slides, Hasbro Game Show and mini golf. It also goes to Half Moon Cay and has cruises that leave on Monday. I like the smaller size of the ship because it is easier to find everything and less crowded.
I would go ahead and get a passport as soon as possible.
Thank you for the suggestion. that is one that I was leaning towards. My sister told me about the chance of change of itinerary because of tendering. She mentioned it because of Grand Cayman (another place we looked at) is a tender location. Is there somewhere you can look on carnivals site that tells you whether each place is a tender location or dock. I tried looking but might be over looking it.

Thank you for the suggestion. I forgot to put we are looking 4-5 day leaving Sunday or Monday because of driving from St louis. But your reply has me intrigued about those two options. Maybe something to think about for next year.

As far as missing shows, I thought they had early shows too at least they did when I went in 2016. Is this not the case. I was able to catch an early show then go to dinner.
