Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, we have been to all of the places mentioned. Milan and Lake Como are about the only places in Italy we have not visited. Seems like it would be better to do it on our own rather than use Regent.

Wanted to know if it is worthwhile. It is quite expensive.

We are on a cruise ending in Rome September 2024. They have a post cruise trip to Lake Como. Has anyone done this post cruise excursion?

We just returned from our first post Covid cruise aboard Splendor. I thought I would give some random personal thoughts about the cruise, the ship and Regent. We previously have sailed with Regent five times, all on Explorer. Splendor is very similar to Explorer with a few minor changes that seem to be improvements. The sight lines in the theater on deck 5 have been improved. The changes to coffee connection and meridian lounge are an improvement. Not sure why they closed one access to the observation lounge.
There were not any Covid restrictions on board or on tours. A few people wore masks, but the majority did not.
In my opinion the entertainment was a step above what we had previously experienced on Explorer.
Now the bad part. It seemed that there was not adequate staffing in some of the restaurants. Service was not up to Regent standards. In particular we ate twice in Prime 7 and the service was slow and the food not particularly good. We did better in Chartreuse and Pacific Rim. Maybe our experience was not representative of everyone. Twice they had a French and Spanish buffet for dinner in la Veranda instead of the usual Italian dining. Perhaps because the buffet needed less staff.
Previously we have had a concierge suite but this time we were in a penthouse. The layout of the room is a little strange but we really enjoyed having a butler. He made the extra expense worthwhile.
Regent is a great line and I am sure they will get things right.

When disembarking in Barcelona are taxis available to airport or is it best to reserve a car service?

We have used both Luggage Forward and Luggage Free to the ship with no problems. Have never used them from the ship to home. I would think it could be arranged from the ship if you give them enough lead time.

While on the topic of restaurant reservations, what is the process if we wish to make an advance reservation to sit with another couple who will be onboard the cruise? Does one couple make the res. for all four people? Thanks.
One couple makes the reservation, but they need the booking number of the other couple.

Thank you to all for your insight.

We are considering a Rio to Miami cruise that includes several days in the Amazon in March 2023. Any advice about such a cruise?

I have been happy with most Regent excursions with a few exceptions. I've done a few small group and I would say that they are worth the extra.

We have been on Explorer four times, 3 of which in a "D" suite. We prefer deck 8 or 7 near front elevator. The rear elevator does not go to deck 4 so it is sometimes inconvenient. Being near the elevator is convenient and we have never been bothered by noise. Check the deck plan as some suites have angled balconies. Not a problem for us but some people don't like that.

Three years ago we had a wonderful all day tour in Copenhagen with a Tour By Local guide. Unfortunately I do not remember her name. We have also used Tour By Local in other cities and have always been satisfied.

Our policy is not with Regent.

We are on that cruise as well. Still hoping it will be a go. My TA said that the insurance could be transferred if the new cruise was booked at the same time the old one was cancelled. That is what I was told, do not know if it is correct. It may matter which insurance company.

On March 19th I called our travel agent to cancel an October cruise on Navigator. The same day the deposit was credited back to my credit card. We have a great TA and perhaps that had something to do with the fast action.

Our cruise in October stops at Bar Harbor. Does anyone have suggestions for the best excursion there?

I second the opinion of UUNetBill. We did the "Evening with the Tsars" in August 2017 and it was very very enjoyable. The fact that you can see the palace with no crowds is great. In contrast we did the Peter's palace tour during the day and the crowds were so large that we hated the experience.

That sounds encouraging, we are going Southbound also. Thanks.

Will be traveling soon on our fifth Regent cruise. On this cruise we travel through the Bay of Biscay. I am told the bay can be rough. Has anyone had experience cruising the Bay?

Based on the deck plan (if it is accurate) the only F1 suites that have a fairly large balcony are 846-847. A few others may have a slightly larger than normal. The suites mentioned by Travelcat2 are D and E suites.

Yes, your invoice will show the date that you can book. As of 12:01 AM eastern time.
To waitlist you must call Regent.
When you go to check out it will tell you what you owe (if anything.) If everything was free there is no charge and it will confirm your choices.
I do not know if you can waitlist more than one tour. Again ask Regent.
Hope this helps.

I am aware of the deck tabs but I still do not see Explorer 766 and 926. I have used two different browsers but both cabins say not yet reviewed. Any suggestion?
Dolphin encounter in Cozumel
in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Posted
We will be on the Grandeur later this month. Our tour in Cozumel is the dolphin encounter. Has anyone been on this tour? I would like to know if they provide a place to change clothes and also a place to keep valuables. Can you wear sun glasses?
