My wife and I are on the 31st cruise. Are they offering a Chef's table? If so which day was/is it scheduled?
@gsdpidgeI'm on the Jan 31 cruise also. If you want to attend a "Meet & Greet" on that cruise, let me know.

I'll be on the Oct 23rd cruise which is an 80s theme cruise. Are they doing any of the regular shows in the theater or is it just the comedians? Do the regular Princess singers and dancers do anything in the other venues?
-
I'm booked for next month. Can you tell me if masks must be worn in the gym while working out and using the exercise equipment?

I'm going on the Sept 12th sailing so I'll be looking to see how things are on the ship. I'd like to know what types of talks and lectures are offered. On previous cruises we had some good speakers talking about Alaska.
-
...So they bought their own excursions, and souvenirs, and food in port, and extras on the ship
If you want to keep your expenses down, you have to have some spending discipline, just as you would at home. It is possible to cruise without spending anything on souvenirs, food in port, and extras on the ship.

Interesting to see the azipods. Something we don't get to see when we're on the ship.

Thanks for the photos. I'll be on the Jade July 30th cruise. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes.

Thanks for the review. I am booked on the Jade next Summer after the dry-dock. I am trying to select an oceanview cabin and would be interested in any comments you have about the cabins.

 I was on Rhapsody on the May 3rd Med Cruise. It was apparently just put in. It was a disaster. You couldn't even sign up for it on the ship for several days due to a configuration issue. After I finally was able to register, I kept getting kicked off and I had the streaming package. It was very slow. I was told by Guest Relations that the IT staff were still trying to figure it out. I would think it should be tested and understood by them before rolling out to the guests. I know a lot of people who were getting money back due to the issues.
Thank you for the update. It sounds like the RCL IT staff doe not have their act together yet. I certainly hope that they get the problems resolved before my September cruise; otherwise I'll be looking for a refund :o

The "ping" (which is the length of time it takes to get a response from the test server) is seriously slow on board the ship. The same thing for the amount of time it takes to download and upload data.
That's disappointing. I wish that RCL would be a bit more honest in describing just what type of Internet service they are really offering. I pre-paid for "Voom" but now I'm wondering if I'll just end up with the same old slow Internet we usually see on cruise ships.
-
I am seeing this as well for my Sept 2016 cruise....
I am signed up for the September 5th cruise and RCL is offering "Voom" for that cruise. If anyone has any experience with the Voom Internet on the Rhapsody, I would like to see it. Thanks.
-
Will the basic Voom allow Skype voice calls (NOT video)? I don't want to spend more for streaming video when I won't use that feature, but I would like to be able to make Skype voice calls.

Interesting was that for both disembarkation ports Valparaiso and buenos Aires freestyle disembarkation is not possible and you have to put out your luggage the night before.
If I have a rolling suitcase and I want to roll it off myself, can I do that?
-
I'm really enjoying the updates from the ship. I'll be on the March 12th sailing and I'm really excited about the trip :)
In Ushuaia I'm interested in going on the little railway near there. It's the most southern railway in the world.

Am I right in thinking that any cabin grade can have bathrobes if requested but they are only automatically provided in mini-suites and above?
We have a balcony cabin on both cruises in August and I do like to have a bathrobe for the balcony. ;)
Ask your cabin attendant for bathrobes when you get on the ship and you'll be all set.

Yes, it is up and running. Works great, will post some setup details later.
Thanks. I am interested in the setup details for both iPhone and Android. Can I load the app once I'm on board the ship?

....I will write a comprehensive write up of my impressions and comments about the overall cruise shortly...
Thank you for the detailed write up. I will be on the ship in a few weeks and I am wondering what to expect. In particular, how was the naturalist and the lectures? How was the Cruise Director and the Assistant Cruise Director as well as the entertainment staff? Was the Captain ever seen around the passenger areas?
Were there enough activities on the sea days such as trivia contests, Zumba and line dance classes, etc?
How was the musical entertainment in the lounges as well as the shows in the theater? Are there any shows that are "must see" and are there any that are "Avoid at all cost"?
Thanks

Now that we have some dry dock photos the next step is to have photos posted showing the finished work inside.
Enjoy the photos...Tom
Thanks for the excellent dry dock photos. I would like to see some photos of the finished work.
I'll be on the ship on the July 11th cruise.

15 days to Hawaii in P318, and was very quiet. Doing a b2b in P-322 in April. It's the best. I like my coffee and the IC is just steps away.
It's also low down and near the middle of the ship, so less motion in case of rough seas.

A friend of ours has done several Alaska cruises and said that people dressed more relaxed on those cruises. How serious do most people take the formal nights on these cruises? We prefer nice but simple.
I've done the CA coastal cruise recently. You can easily get by with slacks, a shirt, tie, and sports coat for men and a dress or skirt and top for women. I've seen some men come without ties and they had no problem getting in. One fellow I talked with said "I had to wear ties for 30 years at work and I'll be damned if I'm going to wear one now":)
As long as you are nicely dressed, you don't need anything more formal than that.

I just got back from the Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia-Herzegovina Winter cruise (November 2009) on the MV Artemis. We were very lucky to have nice weather throughout this cruise. November is the wettest month, but we had mostly sunny days.
The ship is very nice. As others have said, OAT markets only to Americans and the vast majority of their customers are in the 55+ age group. Having said that, most of their customers are somewhat active and able to do the city walking tours.
One thing that several people commented on was the poor sound insulation between cabins. You can often hear conversations in the next cabin. This appears to be a design flaw in the construction of the ship. You should bring earplugs as this helps a bit.

For those on board now, Have they done the "Yes/No" game show? It's a lot of fun but harder than you might think if you haven't done it.😁
