  1. I have done this one from the cruise port to Frigate Bay. The taxis are very affordable, ~$15 for the trip each way..this is for the ride - not per person. Taxis are plentiful at both ends of the ride. That property is one of the best in the Caribbean! Enjoy.

  2. Barrachina is at 104 Calle Forteleza. They are very friendly and typically open early on the weekends. From the Carnival ship, it's probably a 10 minute walk, but if your luggage is too big to lug through Old San Juan, then a cab can get you within a block of the restaurant.

I usually tip $5 per bag and have never had a problem with them being anything but friendly. I've used Barrachina several times for the bag drop. I hear that they have great drinks, too.

    Enjoy!

  3. The Fortunes Casino on the Summit was changed when they drydocked the Summit in 2011, and unfortunately the slots were replaced by programmable video slots with penny denominations. While adding SOME of these would be fine, because they certainly have an audience...why not include some reel machines with 25c or $1 or even higher denoms, too?

The tables on the Summit are consistently fun and professionally-run, and the craps table - though bouncy - had a good vibe. I played for hours and went up a grand, down a grand, up again, and finished ahead a few hundred, but it was fun. Lots of players cycled through, most for 15 minutes or less and many people who had never played...the staff was accomodating and slowed the game a little to explain it, and I think the new players left with a good feeling about craps.

Video poker on the ship is good and there are some variations onboard to keep it interesting. I recall Game King, Super Times Pay, and Ultimate X.
