Wendy, I wasn't familiar with Brics at the time. But my favorite ever was a Fossil bag that I had bought many years ago, when I was still working. It was on sale, but still expensive. I loved that handbag, and used it for many years until it got worn around the leather edges. The Brics handbag was exactly the same configuration as my old Fossil bag; relatively large with 2 outside pouches with snaps, and an inner part with a zipper compartment inside, and a zipper across the top. But only the trim is leather, and the rest seems to be a heavy nylon in Navy. I would rather have had black, which they had in other styles. But it seems to be well made and I've been using it for over a year. I had enough cruise credit to pay for it, and it cost less than my Fossil bag many years ago. I'm happy with my purchase.

I bought a navy Brics with sbc several years ago on the Splendor and I use it as my everyday purse and I Love it!!!

  2. We are on the Splendor t/a on Nov. 20th.  Received our luggage tags in the mail today in a plain whlte

envelope with our cruise details.  That's it!!!!  No leather (?) name tags, not that we need them, nothing.

When we did our first Regent just prior to covid we were so excited to get this lovely leather like envelope with

leather name tags and our luggage tags, etc.  Then it became paper like folder and now it is just a plain

envelope.  Very disappointed....Not that we Need any of these things, just makes you feel a bit special.

If Regent wants to cut back, fine, but at least for the first time Regent crusers please make them feel

special, which is what Regent is supposed to be.  Hopefully the cut backs don't carry over.  As of now,, we

still love Regent.  Mary & Bill

September 26, 2023–at sea en route to Bordeaux

We have a very rocky night.  The seas were really rolling.  With that and the time change, we were the only guests in La veranda at 8 am.  Others began to straggle in, but it was really empty for breakfast.

We had a leisurely morning, just catching up on emails, reading the paper, etc.  there was a lecture and a future cruise presentation, as well as a cooking class.  We just goofed off.  The weather was partly cloudy, in the mid 60s with a bit of wind, and seas were still moving a bit.  Fortunately we are not prone to seasickness.  Those who are might have had a problem.

We had a sea day lunch in Chartreuse with our friends. On seadays, they open up Chartreuse and Prime 7 for lunch.  The menu is different than the dinner menu.  Highly recommend.

Our friends had gotten little sleep because they were awakened by a loud persistent noice in their suite about 3:30 am.  It would not stop all night.  Engineers and maintenance people were trying to figure out the source and were tearing out the ceiling while we ate lunch.

After lunch, the sun had come out, and the seas and wind had calmed.  It was perfect for one of my favorite activities onboard, walking on the walking track outside.  The track on Splendor is probably my favorite on any ship.  It is purpose built with a good walking surface and no obstructions, nice and wide.

.  I walked for about an hour while George went for a massage which he pronounced was the worst he had ever had.  The lady put no effort in at all, even when he told her to use more pressure.  He has complained.

Trivia was a bust.  Questions were really difficult, and there were no medical questions.  So we did poorly.

Tonight was the captain’s welcome.  We had dinner and a special birthday celebration for one of our friends in Compass Rose.  I would say they did a great job considering we were a table of 12.  George’s lobster was perfectly cooked.

Can you tell us what cabin your friends are in and did they get the problem solved?  Thanks,we board on Nov 20.  Mary

  4.  Thank you all for the suggestions. We would be too "anxious" to do anything

on our own.  May take a Cunard excursion when we get closer.  Meanwhile, we are

going on the QE from SanFranciso through the canal back to Ft. Lauderdale.  Thanks

    again,  Mary

  5. We are on the eastbound t/a on QM2 2024 and then to the Fjords back to Southampton and the

the westbound back to NY.  We are in Sohmpton twice.  Does anyone know if Cunard offers any

tours to London, or is there not enough time? Thanks, Mary

  6. While not a regular contributor to Cunard blog, we have sailed several Cunard ships.  In response to the Sanibel Island bridge - the bridge has been destroyed in 4 different places.  It will be a long long time before anyone can get to the isalnd unless by boat or air.  Coast Guard has been air lifting people that stayed (although begged to leave).  Anyway, there are websites you can go to to update.  SW Florida has been Decimated.  We live in Naples and are very blessed that our little community did not flood and we were never without power..  Our hearts go out to all the people who lost everything.  Please keep all of Florida in your prayers.  Mary & Bill

Do they send you a link for zoom?  I went ahead and downloaded it to my laptop that runs widows.  I think I can do this.  Just real nervous, as I have never zoomed or anything like this.

Yes, they sent an email with the zoom link.  It was really easy, just make sure you fill out the form they send and you do NOT have to fill out insurance info, just self pay (or whatever it's called).  This was just "practice" - hope it goes as well in 3 weeks.  You can do it!!!

  8. We were on the transatlantic Splendor in April and I took the Culinary Class and loved it!  Chef was amazing and we made 4 dishes (and got to eat what we cooked).  We are booked on the Navigator in

Dec, and Voyager inApril .  Unfortunately don't have Cooking classes.  If it is offered - do it!!!!  Enjoy,

    Mary

    Final Day

    830am DISEMBARK

    9AM join tour

    full day excursion

Arrive at airport 3 hours before departure

    Departure around 10PM

    Arrive Maimi 6-7AM next day

    Board 2nd leg to Charlotte

Who offered the option?  Thanks for the suggestion.

  10. We are booked on the Mariner in Nov. Lima to Buenos Aires.  In BA we have an overnight ... my question is that the flights back home

all are late night flights.  So, what do people do after disembarking for the day waiting for their flight at night?  Or can you get off

the ship the night before?  Months away, but just curious if anyone has faced this problem?  thanks,  Mary

  11. Bill:  We just got off the Splendor transatlantic and were in 927 and also had terrible vibration the entire cruise.  Offered to move us  after us thinking it would stop but it didn't.  Offer was  lower catagory and way up front.  Stayed where we were - also, the slider to the balcony didn't open - just occasionaly, even after complaining 5 times.....would NOT recommend this cabin.
