Hotel Nouvel is on our short list of choices.  How was it?

Hi Summit. Excellent location, well-maintained for it's age with a friendly and efficient staff. Only issue might be the one small elevator but it didn't have a negative effect on our stay. We treated ourselves to the Junior Suite. Quite roomy. I'm not a bidet person myself, but it's there in the bathroom if you so desire! Barcelona is a beautiful city. Enjoy...

  2. First time in Barcelona was about 12 years ago. We stayed at Hotel 1898 which is on La Rambla. A very nice hotel but expensive. For our upcoming visit we're staying for several nights at Nouvel Hotel which is just off La Rambla. The rates are much more reasonable for my newer "retirement budget"..

  3. Both times we're in town from early morning until late morning the following day.

With an early morning arrival at the beginning of your vacation, I wouldn't plan on doing much in the way of sightseeing. After an hour or so the kids are probably going to have a meltdown. If I read your question correctly, you're staying overnight in San Juan upon arrival. Why not contact the hotel and find out the cost for an early check-in? It'll be worth the monies spent. Everyone can rest and then have a fun late afternoon/evening...

  4. Wife and I will be arriving about 36 hours early for a cruise which leaves out if Copenhagen and would like to hear your thoughts on the best way to see a small bit of the city.

You can get a wonderful overall, comprehensive tour of Copenhagen from ToursCPH taking their e-Bike tour (see TripAdvisor for reviews). Follow it up with a canal boat tour. I'd recommend Netto. They offer the same tour as Canal Tours Copenhagen at half the price.

We also did Copenhagen Food Tours, but I don't know if that's of interest to you. We loved it...
