First, login in using the Booking Number seems to solve the constant "getting booted out" problem.  However this is not very convenient (as opposed to Princess user name and password).

Second, the only way I can see to see all of your bookings is to log out and log in individually.  Also not very convenient (and now I have to reference multiple booking numbers to stay logged in 😉).

Thanks Michael. Hoping they work out all the kinks before we sail in a couple of months. Happy Birthday. 🎂

When we got off the 1st July they were advertising self disembarkation would start at 7am, but as they always say this depends on clearance so can be earlier or later.

We have been delayed getting off previously for a fire alarm in the luggage hall, plus I think the cruise before us was delayed getting off due to customs so 6.30 may be a bit early.
We’ve also had it before where they wouldn’t let cars wait to pick people up if the passengers weren’t there they moved them on.

    Thanks for the info

May I ask where you are getting the 6am from? If this is the docking time, there is a fair chance of a delay before disembarkation takes place as the ship has to wait for clearance from the post authorities.

As suggested earlier, customer services onboard will have the most accurate estimate for disembarkation time.

Yes docking time. I figured about 40-45 minutes. We are working on a private transfer so I need to give an estimated time. I will confirm again once I’m onboard.

  4. Two part question.

-We are arriving in Southampton at 6am. We are planning on walking off our luggage . Do you think it’s safe to have a private transfer arrive at 6:30am

-two others in our party have a later flight and want to disembark later. What time do people have to be off the ship by?  I’m thinking no later than 10:30am

thank you. I’d call Princess but they are so difficult to get ahold of.

But it is still easy to do the math.  Just plug in what you plan to tip to see if buying Plus and using its tip amount makes more sense to you.  For example, let's say that the suggested gratuity is $16 for your level of cabin.  You don't plan to tip that amount, and instead plan to tip $20 per day.  It would still make sense to get the Package and then add in $4 per day to get to your planned tip amount.  And let's say that you were planning to tip only $12 a day. It would still make sense to get the Package with its $16 gratuity if the rest of the package was going to save you $4 or more per day in drinks and coffee. The same holds true for WiFi discounts.  Here's he math:

    • I get WiFi for $7.50 per day with my discount.
    • I plan to tip $12 per day
    • I am going to consume $8 in coffee drinks per day
    • I am going to have 2 glasses of wine at $15 per day and one cocktail for $9 each day.

My daily total is going to come to $66.50.  Eschewing the Plus Package so that I can monetize my Wi-Fi discount that I spent thousands of dollars earning, and shaving down the gratuity amount because...well...I won't go there, is cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.  Better to get the Plus Package even if you won't sleep well at night knowing that you over-tipped.

Where did you find a price for wifi?  I’m also Platinum so does it mean it’s $15 and then a $7.50 onboard credit? I have Princess plus on an upcoming cruise but am thinking about canceling because my husband doesn’t drink and I would only have 1 glass of wine at dinner. Neither one of us drink coffee or soda.

We are booked on this tour the end of April - there are 8 of us.  Questions:  did the van accommodate larger groups?  where did they pick you up?  did you need extra money and, if so, UD dollars or credit cards?  Thanks

Sorry. I forgot to tell you she picked you up by the pier and walked you over to her van.

Yes. We were two but the Van could accommodate about 18, maybe more. We didn’t need extra money except for her tip. I had taken some Euros which I used to tip her. Euros are the currency not  US Dollars. They are French citizens hence Euros. Credit cards are accepted.

  8. Based on the recommendations here, we took the food tour with Christelle. She was absolutely fabulous. Don’t hesitate to book any tour with her. It was the best tour of our cruise.

Which roll call did you check? I was about to email Island wings to book my tour earlier when I read about the collision. I searched on facebook, CC etc to see if one of the planes was Island wings’ and saw a post where someone said she had checked and found out it wasn’t Island wings. I thought I saw the post on a roll call.

I checked the one for this cruise. Maybe it is on a different one. I also checked Island Wings Facebook page for a post but nothing. I’ll look again on other roll calls.

If anyone can confirm the plane is NOT Island Wings, that would be fantastic.  Michelle is a great pilot, praying for all involved.

Trying to find that out as well. I have flown with her multiple times. The type plane involved is one her company flies, but there are several other companies that use the same plane.

I’m in tears. This is awful. We are booked on a floatplane excursion there in July. I saw that the larger plane was operated by Taquan but haven’t seen which one the smaller one is. Same kind of plane Island Wings operates I think. I’ve heard such good things about Michelle and island Wings. Sending prayers to all affected.

I believe you are correct. Island Wings has two planes. Not sure what other companies fly.

  12. Thanks for all the input. To change my room to a haven without bidding would be an extra $3200. If I bid an extra $500 p.p or whatever is great. I guess we will see. I am on an early May sailing.

$500 pp probably won't do it but each cruise is different.

There's a little meter besides your bid that will tell you your chances ( poor to excellent). You are only allowed one to two category upgrade so you need to be in at least a balcony to bid on the Haven. We had an aft balcony prior to upgrade. We paid more for that room than a regular balcony. I think that helped in getting our upgrade.

  13. I think you had better be VERY SURE that any "guest" is going to be allowed to eat with you in the Haven. I frankly think it is not going to happen.

I wasn't aware of the practice. Isn't the Haven just for Haven guests? Otherwise, what's the point of paying for private dining?
