We are booked in this cabin next May - thanks for sharing info about the cabin. I was hoping we made a right choice and it looks like we did 🙂 Do you recall if being right by the lifts was an issue such as noise?  Thanks

    Kennact,

we did not hear any elevator noise, but later in the evening the party people were noisy coming down our hallway. We were on an itinerary where younger people were in abundance verses  the longer cruises  that attracts the 60-80 y/o.

Yes they have more than one but I am on the Royal now and I was told last night that all the chef's tables are fully booked, there will be three, and I can only attend one of them. 😞

Sign up immediately upon boarding or you will not make it.

So what you’re saying is those of us joining the cruise in Buenos Aires are essentially SOL

Cleaning is not quite dry cleaning but it is a similar process that is a bit more environmentally friendly and safer to implement in a marine environment. Laundry is like at home only they use very hot water for everything.

Beg3yrs, can you request warm water, low  or permanent press to dry?

We booked a Guarantee  BF Balcony on our upcoming Crown cruise.   I received the cabin assignment today and it is a B1 Balcony on Caribe, Midship.   I'm pretty happy about that!

Terrific for you! We are also BF guarantee for the Royal in two weeks and are still waiting. Heard they are horribly oversold.

Just on the Ruby Princess in a balcony room and noticed the small barrel chair was missing from the room - all you have to sit on is the awful little desk/makeup chair. I asked customer service about the removal and they said they removed the chairs to give you more space... I told them if they removed the beds we would have lots of room!

My wife is a little upset about no chair to sit and read her book - Thoughts...

On our last B2B in December the chairs were gone and we were told they are phasing them out. When I walked by an open room one day, I did see the round chair.

I arrive very early (7AM ish) on embarkation day into EZE airport.  I almost never use Princess transfer, but I thought it best for this cruise.  I have heard much about waiting hours to fill a bus before it leaves for the port.  I will already be waiting 2 hours for the Princess contracted/outsource personnel to appear and would hate to have to wait many more hours to leave for the port.  I would like to hear from those who have experienced Princess transfer at EZE and had an early flight arrival.  Was there a long wait to leave for the port?

We have used EZ air and have used Princess transfers to ship many times. Yes they wait to fill up the buses and we’ve never waited more than an hour. The buses circulate thru all the airlines also to fill up the bus. We are flying into EZE in two weeks but will be in a hotel for a couple nights, before going to the ship. Our cruise is one already in progress from FLL and the ship is not leaving until the next morning. The contracted folks were very knowledgeable and kept in contact with the bus drivers so they knew when to expect them. Our flight will be 12 hours long, so a walk about would be great way to pass the time.😊

Our "status" is currently Ruby but we are only a few sail days away to becoming Platinum. We will be sailing on a 15 day cruise in April. Has anyone ever been given the higher status while on board the ship?

On Princess if you are qualified for a status increase it won't happen until the next cruise you sail on. Sorry

Is the price for pre-ordering alcohol the same as ordering it onboard?

No, I found it cheaper to order ahead. It's more than it would cost to sneak it on like some have suggested, but wine and bubbly are the only liquor Princess allows you to bring. For the gin I paid $17/ 375 ml.$2 and change for a gin/tonic bringing my own tonic from off the ship,  a little more for the Bombay Sapphire. Room service on board is very overpriced.

I am looking at booking either of these cabins for an upcoming cruise.   Both are classifed as Ocean View obstructed but seem to have great views with very little obstruction.   What I am wanting to know is if the beds are under the window or against the wall?   If anyone has any info on either of these cabins it would be appreciated.   Thanks.

We recently stayed in E415. We never could figure why it was labelled partial obst. There is a chair by the window and my husband sat there every day. The  bed is against the wall to your left. We really enjoyed that room. We were booked fora B2B cruised and had we not been offered an upsell to a balcony for our 15 day Hawaii cruise we wouldn't have minded staying there. You are close to the elevators, but don't hear the noise, convenient to all the main areas a deck below. Go for it!

  10. Good for you! We are sailing Feb 21 on the Royal around Cape Horn from Buenos Aires to LA and booked this over a year ago with a BF guarantee. We still have not been assigned a cabin. When I called to find out when it would be assigned I was told any time right up to embarkation. The ship is overbooked and many people getting move over offers. I just want a room!

My wife has knee problems and needs support pillows while reclining. Is it possible to get such pillows? All comments are appreciated.🤞

I needed to elevate my legs at night on my last cruise due to severe edema in my feet. The pillows are pretty wimpy even stacking 3 on top of each other. I took the life vest in the closet and put a pillow on top for comfort and it worked well for me.

We go if it’s in Skywalkers, but not if it’s in fusion.  It’s about having a drink in a great place for us.

They opened all the curtains in Fusion and many people were at tables by the windows, just closer to the water than Skywalkers

My husband is platinum and I am ruby. Would I get to attend with him or would I be the one standing in the window watching him? Would he be able to bring a drink out to me if I can’t go in?

If he puts the drinks on his cruise card, no one will know you are Ruby unless you whip out your card to pay!

It's actually quite good. Neither the vodka nor the gin overpowers the other. The Cointreau makes it perfect. I think it's terrible with olives (although some like it that way) but great with a twist - especially if the bartender rims the glass with the twist and then really gives it a great big twist over the top of the liquor before dropping it in. Chris in Wheelhouse on Emerald last October consistently made the very best ones I have ever had.

North California coastal?? We were on that cruise too. Kept telling them in Elite lounge event that we missed the Chairman of the Board. Choices now are too sweet.

I only seldom drink beer, but my wife likes an Iron Butterfly.

    Ingredients:

    - 1 shot Vodka

    - 1 shot Kahlua

    - 1 shot bailey’s Irish Cream

Pour vodka over ice in an old-fashioned glass. Add kahlua and irish cream, and stir. Garnish with 1 - 3 optional filbert nuts.

I had this in Crooners last cruise on Emerald and it was called a Milky Way martini!

Close but not exactly as it implies that Cointreau is in the same amounts as the other ingredients.

    ==================

    Chairman of the Board

    3 parts Grey Goose Vodka
    3 parts Bombay Sapphire Gin
    1 part Cointreau
    Chilled over ice and strained

    ==================

I agree this is a great drink! Some get it with olives but I always have it with a twist. Today is Thursday. We sail on Saturday. Guess what I will order for my sail away drink. :classic_biggrin:

Thank you for correcting the amounts. It is our favorite drink, but can't imagine how sweet it would be with 3 parts Cointreau!

Very sorry to see that my favorite, but relatively inexpensive, Chardonnay, Clos Du Bois,  does not appear to be on that list. It's always been what I ordered when using my wine packages. Maybe it's too inexpensive, as compared to what I see on this new list, to qualify anymore!! Not that the Princess markup made it seem inexpensive! When I purchase it locally, it's $9-10/bottle, Princess has been charging $32!!

We were able to purchase it by the glass in Wheelhouse and Crooners on our last 2 cruises on Emerald.

If you bring your own & pay corkage fee, do you check as baggage or carry on. When is corkage fee assessed?

On our last several cruises (Sept-Dec 2018) we flew, so at the airport removed our wine and put it (4 bottles) in a carrier. At check in after getting our cruise cards we stopped at a table to pay for 2 corkage fees ($15 ea) and they put a sticker on them. This will show up on your account as from either a bar or dining room, don't remember exactly. The other 2 bottles were for our room (part of the allowance 1/p). The ones with a sticker we could take to the MDR. If you pack it in your luggage, you will get a call if it's over the allowed 1 bottle/person to report to the bowels of the ship to pay up! Sometimes folks get away with it, but not worth the embarrassment for me.

  19. I got the call to upgrade from OV obstructed to a balcony for $199/pp. I said yes and took B405. After reading the upgraded room info it says upper berth and connects to 409. Can anyone tell me if that affects moving about in the room. It’s not sounding as good as I envisioned.
