Sandwiches and cakes are usually available in the buffet/café restaurants during boarding.

We were spoilt last year with a free double upgrade, a premiere suite on deck 10. 400+ square feet of space. A VERY pleasant surprise when we opened the door. The steward also gave us two complementary bottles of spirits.
Thankyou Fred, same again this year if you like !!:)

Who was entertaining in the Lido? The duo on Boudicca were dreadful, shabbily dressed and the male had more tattoos than "skin". Gave them a second chance one evening but left early.
In my humble opinion, the duo "Soul Food" were the best entertainment on the cruise. A pleasent change from Fred's usual 60's timewarp.
As for the show group, the male singers were awful, the Beatles "tribute" was more of an embarrassment than a tribute.
Never had the urge to be "inked" myself, but I did notice that quite a few of the lady guests on board had succumbed, a naval tradition presumably !!

We were in Dublin on Balmoral earlier this month.
Plenty of free shuttles were available to take passengers into Dublin center. We walked in but it was a fair distance although quite easy.
The return shuttles left every half hour from Kildare street, close to Trinity College. Hope this helps.

As was said earlier in this thread, check which and how many other ships are in on the same day http://www.cruisetimetables.com/cruises-to-flam-norway.html There were three in on my last visit and the train was very busy. I prebooked through Fred, took the train up and cycled down, and had a brilliant day.:D

We travelled on Boudicca to Reykjavik two years ago and we did dock at the Skarfabakki cruise terminal, as you indeed suspect.
A shuttle was provided and it dropped us off outside the new theatre and concert hall, an incredible building, in my eyes anyway!
We however, took the opportunity to walk back to the ship along the coastal path, some beautiful views and artwork along the way. Probably about 5k but it was a sunny day and very easy strolling.
Enjoy your trip, we are hoping to go back to Iceland next year.

I have to agree with NB125, in over a dozen cruises with Fred I have only seen the tables being played once. In fact the most action I've ever seen at the tables was when they tipped over during a storm off The Faroes !!
