We did saga class home last year. Not plush but better than coach. Food was very good. They served a great small cracker like with drinks. Would love to know name/ brand. I have searched without success.

We shall do, Linda! Again, looks like we'll just miss you. We'll likely leave for home from KEF June 27/28. We're actually in Seattle into next week - was with Vashon friends Wed, Seattle hot day Thursday and today the temp really dropped!
So is Saga class worth it for our trip home? Would be interested to hear what excursions you thought were worthwhile as well.

We did Northern Lights tour in Jan. 2019. It was really interesting. We did see the lights!
Snow flurries daily were pretty. The dog sled excursion was magical. It had snowed the night before. Remember it is dark a lot. So views from busses on excursions were often limited. Take hand warmers !beavergal

In January 2019 on our Viking NL trip someone told me about an app that would help me use my phone for the pictures. I don’t remember the name but it was really helpful. It keeps the aperature open . My shots were not as clean As with a tripod but the app allowed me to see the lights.

We sailed in mid January 2019 and saw an amazing display of lights about 45 minutes after leaving the port of Tromso on the ship. The crew alerted us and turned off most of the deck lights. Swirling curtain-like with lots of movement and definitely in color! We chose not to take pictures but simply be in the moment. Easily seen without a camera and what a memory! Seems like it lasted 20 or 25 minutes. Suggest downloading the apps for your tablet or phone which predict how likely Northern Lights will be seen each night. Very helpful in planning. So much depends on the sun activity, cloud cover and brightness of the moon. We loved everything about this cruise.

We saw white except on our camera, then it was green. I understand it depends on strength of action of sun that creates the lights. We did 2019 Viking cruise along Norway in Jan. Cold and dark then but a real adventure.

New cruise is two weeks and includes Panama.

We went last Jan. I am not good in cold temps but my layers worked. Something to remember about Jan. in Norway, there is lots of dark time. Good for the lights, but it limits the views on excursions.

Thanks. One of the big concerns is certainly to have adequate winter clothing. I think we're just about good to go now. It's been a great opportunity here lately to test some new clothing being that the polar vortex has taken us down unusually low - 0 to minus temps. Were your NL excursions with GLØD? From correspondence I've had over the past few months, it seems they are the company that does the Viking tours.

Remember the motion of the ship might be difficult if you are wearing “heels”.

In the spa their is a pool like that. It is large enough for a number of people to sit on the ledge or swim. And of course it is no charge.

On this cruise right now. Weather has been a difficult factor. We are on the Saint Lawrence river today. We have missed 4 of our stops. Many extra days at sea.

We book way in advance to get what we want. But these days we carry insurance in case our luck runs out.

From Bergen the tour "Norway in a Nutshell" is great fun. It is train, then small train though mountain, then boat on fjord, then bus,& train back to Bergen. Sounds like a lot, but all organized to enjoy the wonderful views.

We have sailed on Regent 7 times and on Cunard 3. We do prefer Regent but Cunard does
have a lot going for it. The class system part is not any problem at all. We feel that the rest of the ship is great and we don't even see or worry about the grill bars or restaurants. The music around the ship is exceptional. The speakers have been wonderful. Love to watch all the dancing in the evening. Two things that might be deal breakers, required suits or sport coats every night. And assigned seating for dinner, the same people every night can be difficult. But we would go again.

On voyager Feb. 2016 we watched the Super Bowl on the big screen.
They decorated and served all kinds of special food. Even though it was early in the morning.
Good luck on seeing this year's game.

I cannot see the problem, as long as Regents policy is followed. A sport coat takes up too much suitcase space. We were in southeast Asia in Feb. Everyone looked great, and comfortable on Voyager.

I understand the reason is because of the change of dates we will arrive , the ship has to rebook the shore ex. Not easy to do since every thing is shut down for Chinese NewYear. I agree it is a mess, but all was started because of bad weather in Vietnam.

Husband received one in July . None for me in May. So I guess no rhyme or reason. Not really a problem, not like it was a gift.

Sorry you did not enjoy Terry Breen. We had her a few years ago and thought she was a wonderful speaker. But then we do like the idea of learning on our cruises.

It looks like the Smithsonian lectures are not on all trips. The Miami to Miami ones listed on line are later in 2015.

My daughter was not quarantined by the cruise personnel; however she quarantined herself to our cabin for about 18 hours after her 4 hours spent in the infirmary because she was still quite red and swollen from the reaction she had. Prior to the effect of the IV steroids she received, her face was so swollen that her eyes would only open a tiny slit and she had trouble breathing.
I Hope she was seen by a Dr. when she got home. It sounds like an allergic reaction to the shrimp, and she could get it again, worse, if she eats shrimp again??? In that case it would not have been anything wrong with the shrimp.

I am looking forward to seeing a little better art on the walls of the ships. We did not think the art for sale was an asset.

I haven’t used this walker. But I find it better for me to go on included bus excursions. And send my husband on a few more active ones.
