  1. Great, we're in a FV too. As I said, it's unbelievable that they didn't replace the soft furnishings during her dry dock, or at least those that were damaged/ripped etc.

Did you enjoy your port stops?

Bali was great, i hired a driver for 3 days.

Phuket we did ship tour to James Bond Island, would not recommend this as it was 2hr each way and very rushed, we were late back and ship had to wait!

Pennang was okay nothing very exciting about the place - it is cheep to buy in shops though!

Kuala Lumpur - ship transfer 1hr each way to city for shopping/sightseeing.

My advise is book your trips prior to boarding the ship. The prices are a lot higher once on board. Don't pay full price in speciality restaurants, we have never paid more than half price!.

  2. It's such a pity they didn't replace the ripped curtains etc. when she went in for her dry dock earlier this year - it would have made a big impression for minimal cost. We are on her over Christmas and New Year. Which type of cabin were you in?

Family cabin corner aft 7199. After complaining the sofa cushion was replaced and 1 curtain was replaced.

  3. Just off the Millennium last weekend in Singapore. I have to say in my own opinion that standards have dropped.

New staff working at pool bars had no idea about making cocktails, service very slow, our stateroom had a rips in the sofa, holes in the black out curtains, holes in bathroom towels and water under the flooring in the bathroom. This is not 5 star modern luxury as advertised. Even the staff agreed it was not acceptable when i voiced concerns. This is the first time i have not booked another cruise whilst on board, i am thinking of looking else where even though i was credited with $300 for future cruise.

Having said all of the above i have to say the theater productions was better than i had experienced on other Celebrity cruises. Food was acceptable but not outstanding. Dont bother with the internet $299 for 12 night cruise and no reception/signal in stateroom!

  4. We're you able to do any video streaming?

I was able to watch clips on facebook, i didn't do much else, the main reason i got it was for skype. I was told the basic package wouldnt let me do that. I think i paid $32 for 2 days. I got 10% discount for being a gold member.

  5. I am sailing next week with 2 couples new to RC but was denied the "bring a friend" promo because it is not combine it with offers when booking. We had free flights in Europe so i suppose this is the reason, however i think it is very mean of RC to do this - how many people book without special offers!

  6. I paid for a select drinks package for my Vision of Seas Cruise next week. The origional price some months back was 273.42 euro for 1 week, it has been reduced down to 195.30 Euro now. I just cancelled and rebooked at the lower price. However i have just read the small print and it states: Prices subject to change without notice, gratuities may be added based on itinerary. Packages cannot be shared, are not transferable. Beverage Package refund requests must be submitted within 48 hours of purchase to be considered. Your check may reflect an additional tax for

    certain ports or itineraries.

Does this mean they can add 18% gratuity on each drink? I have been told this has happened on other cruise lines even when you have purchased a drinks package?. I also note it says refunds are to be submitted within 48hrs of purchase - well mine had been paid for months ago and i had no problem getting a refund and booking at the lower price!.

  7. We too are staying two nights pre cruise next week so got our TA to book us in to Changi Village hotel close to airport for a day room as our flight doesn't leave until 11pm. We felt we would have seen all the sights so would just relax and use the pool etc . I believe the hotel has a free shuttle to airport as well.

Thanks for the info. I am currently booking a day room here also post cruise.

  8. I am looking for a hotel in Singapore that will provide me with a day room after disembarking the Celebrity Millenium. My flight is 2320hrs so will need some where to go during the day. If this is not an option can anyone suggest other things to do I would have luggage with me. I will have had pre cruise hotel for 4 nights so wouldn't be interested in any more sight seeing. Anyone's experience of this would be gratefully received.

  9. I had no joy with the price drop, Celebrity were adamant the booking would need to be cancelled and re booked, with the loss of the deposit this didn't add up for us. I looked again today and the price has gone up above what we are paying, although this makes me feel a little better I cant help but feel let down by Celebrity, it seems the terms and conditions are changing all the time.

I don't have experience of booking with Agents in USA, finding a reputable company that deals with UK residents I presume the payments are in $, it will depend on the exchange rate at the time of payment to determine the final costings of the cruise.

  10. I already have the cabin I want with no desire to upgrade (Corner Aft Family Cabin), having spoken to 2 different Celebrity agents I still cannot get the reduced price without cancelling and rebooking, at this point its not worth losing the deposit but it sure is frustrating when you are a loyal customer.

  11. This is the response I got from Celebrity:

Thanks for your message, we're sorry to hear you feel disappointed. From time to time, we introduce offers into the market to encourage bookings and these vary country by country, depending on market conditions such as how many people have booked on particular sailings. By booking early, guests have greater choice over sail dates, choice of itineraries and state room locations, and when booking with offers, there is less choice surrounding these.

Your agent is correct in that the only way to receive an offer is to cancel at the loss of your deposit unfortunately.

    Warm regards,

    Celebrity Cruises UK

It appears I can do no more!

  12. I noted today that a cruise I have booked on Millennium next year has dropped in price for the same category. I telephoned my agent at Celebrity for a price adjustment and was told I would have to cancel and rebook to get the new price this means a loss of deposit. The original booking included free classic drinks and $300 OBC the same perks that are currently being offered. Is the agent right in what she says, I have seen in the past that people have been honoured price reductions? Please help me resolve my issue

  13. I experienced a long wait for 2 passengers on our private excursion in June. I also was anxious that we would be late for our excursion and went to guest relations the night before and asked if I could have a priority ticket, I was informed that if I could show my private excursion booking they would give me a ticket and that is what they did. The wait for the couple was over 1hr. There didn't seem to be any organisation at that time. Be sure to ask at guest relations ....you may get lucky like I did.
