  1. Roomba:

I would GUESS that it is available to both in addition  to Canadians, Aussies, etc.

Get a definitive answer by asking your TA or Carnival Corp.

Are you saying Cunard offers military OBC for U.S. veterans, or to British veterans?

Sorry for that experience.  It seems the issues you had were specifically about the Equinox as opposed to the entire line...so I will choose to use that distinction as a qualifier!

Hopefully someone with the company can read your post and see that the issues are addressed.

Very, very similar on our recent Eclipse!

Agree. My last 6-8 cruises, calling room service to pick up the trays resulted in being told to leave them in the hallway and they would be picked up at a later time.

Totally against the law!  SOLAS.  Safety of Life at Sea.  Picture an emergency evacuation

and all the injuries of people trying to get through the halls and tripping over broken glass.

Clearly a violation.  God help the handicapped in scooters and wheelchairs because cruiselines want to dismiss the hazard and break the law.

Where was it parked? If in a legitimate place and they had no need to move it, if it happened on a S'ton based cruise, I'd take Cunard to a small claims court.

I'm tired of fighting.  It's over and I'm pretty worn out will all the cruise abuse.

There are too many other vacation options at much less cost.  Jacked up prices on everything, poor service and food, can't get problems addressed, inconsistent answers,

interminable holds to talk to customer service, trying to talk to a computer,

and listening to stupid cliches like "Sorry 'bout that",  and "no problem". Does anyone even think before they speak anymore?

Yes, I've done numerous transatlanic cruises on QM2, but I have done my last.

I have followed this issue with interest and dismay.  I am a 10 time Cundarder, 9 on the QM2, 7 of those transatlantic, all from 2013 to 2019.  In my experience, the crew on the ship were always excellent (well, possibly with the occasional exception of the Purser's staff), but Cunard's administration is consistently appalling.  I had booked again once Cunard required Covid vaccinations for all passengers, but cancelled when they either wouldn't or couldn't tell me that they had the same requirement for their staff.  That was my choice.  I had been considering returning to my favourite, the QM2 Transatlantic, but this debacle gives me pause.

To paraphrase one correspondent, we should all hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.  It seems that Cunard failed to follow this.  Telling people that the sailing is cancelled on the day of sailing without a word of assistance for those already far from home was callous, cavalier and cruel. They must have know that this cancellation was a possibility. They may or may not have had a legal requirement to help, but their cold lack of empathy for their would-be passengers tells me that I do not want to risk being at the mercy of Cunard Corporate.

    ...cold lack of empathy...

I can top that.  QM2 employess decided to move my $1600 mobility scooter while it was in park an locked position.  Destroyed the transmission and left me stranded.  They did offer me a measly $250 as compensation for my loss via Cunard Corporate.

P.S. I can't get off their mailing list for future cruises despite their many promisies to remove me from their list.

    I won't be back!

A land vacation will never replace a cruise for me.  There is something about being out in the open sea, watching the water go by, and waking up in new places that feeds my soul. And we are not financially in a place to move up to the luxury on any consistent basis. So that leaves us with the mainstream lines.

We are not loyal to any one line but even with the changes that may be happening, Celebrity still fits us best so we find ourselves putting it towards the top of the list when considering new cruises. What will it take to change that?  I think it isn’t any one thing nor is it tied just to what Celebrity does but also what the other lines do. As an example, after some not very great experiences on two different Princess ships in 2022, they have put themselves on the bottom of our list while reminding us of what Celebrity is still getting right for us.

    Likewise!

It’s not just tunnel vision.  I had a stress fracture and rented a scooter once…I could be first in the elevator area…people would come along after me…and rush past me…filling up the elevator!!  It was very depressing.  I was glad I only needed the scooter temporarily.

    Helen,

Unfortunately I need my scooter full time and I've seen my share of the bullies too.

If there's time, I just tell them to go ahead and I'll take the stairs.  Some understand the comment but many, surprisingly don't get it.  The epitome of ignorance or indifference.

Don’t leave room service trays in the passageways because it’s hard to move scooters and housekeeping buggies past them

if you find a duck don’t take it to lost and found.  Either keep it or hide it somewhere else

S_O_L_A_S  Safety of life at sea is maritine law.  In an emergency, trays in hallways is likely to cause injuries and many cuts from your broken glass dishes.

Be considerate.  Obey the law. Call your steward to pick up you dishes from your room.

Completely agree. Just returned for Silhouette TA and found the hamburgers bland and the hotdog was inedible. One bite and I threw it away! The food in Blu was simply outstanding for me! I found that food in the Oceanview was mediocre. Others may differ as taste differs in people.

On the same cruise  and agree totally.  Ordered a hot dog without bun (gluten free).

The server didn't understand, so I told him, "Just the weiner",  and he said (seriously), "What's a weiner".  When I received it, I could have sworn that it was a sausage stick and coincidentally,  the breakfast "sausage" in the buffet tasted like a very poor quality weiner (hot dog).

Maybe they got the two mixed up.  But then neither was acceptible so I guess it doesn't make much difference.   What a disappointment.

Overall, Blu did a great job!

    Here we go again...

Just finished one cruise and now preparing for our December cruise. Right off the bat, the app is giving me issues but this time, in a new area (for me). I'm trying to order the medallion, since you need this to get into the green lane. Being in Canada, I obviously can't have it shipped (thank, Princess) but the "pick up at port" option says it's unavailable. So...what do I do? Is it because we are sailing from Galveston and it's a new port? Anyone else have this issue?

I had to cancel our cruise due to unexpected emergency surgery 12 days before sailing.

The next day 'coincidentally' a charge showed up on my CC from 'Ocean Medallion Fulfillment'.

I ph'd in to inquire and was asked 'did you order accessories?'

    'No, '

I had downloaded the app which you now need and when I got what I thought was confirmation email; that my medallion would be waiting at the terminal.

PRECovid there was a medallion waiting for us at terminal (vs the old coloured card) so I assumed this was confirmation of that  because they do not ship medallions to Canada (thus it is waiting at the terminal).

Two phone calls during the week to ask about this charge and was told the refund was in the works.

Today I get another email with the invoice for the two sports bands I did not order!

Phoned again and with on hold time included another hour gone. Was told to check the app to see my order history.

WHAT order history? I didn't order anything! And now that the cruise is cancelled I can't get into the app.

Told to phone back AGAIN during the week to speak with a 'Navigator Supervisor'.

I asked to speak with Customer Solutions but was told no I had to go this route.

I'm frustrated to the point of thinking it would be quicker to get a charge back on my credit card.

This is the text of the email I got when I downloaded the medallion app. Nothing in this mentions a cost or purchase of an accessory.

Your OceanMedallion™ order OCEAN-xxxxxxx for your upcoming Princess MedallionClass™ vacation has been received.

Your Medallion® order is scheduled and will be waiting for you when you arrive at the terminal on embarkation day.

Please save your order number for future reference. We hope you enjoy your fabulous MedallionClass™ vacation.

My ask...anyone else experienced this problem?

Been there.  Done that!  Many times over.  This is how Princess now operates.

Adios.  Never again.  "Customer service" is a misnomer.  Now tell me again what a valued customer I am.  I'm not quite convinced yet.

  12. 2 hours ago, Steelers36 said:

NO.  That phone number was shut down months ago.  Call the regular Princess 800# and listen to the phone options and select Medallion app help and then answer the next questions after that to get properly routed.

I'm sorry you missed the tongue in cheek humor here.  It's called "being facetious".

I don't drink it, only my wife does. She says she can taste a difference due to the fact that it's made with cane sugar and not high fructose corn syrup. When it comes to soft drinks, I only drink the diet kind. 😁 (BTW if you have a shop that sells Coke made in Mexico, it's the same thing-they only use cane sugar)

Thank you for your reply. I didn't realize that Mexican coke and yellow cap were essentially the same formula.

Yes, we can get Kosher for Passover Coke here locally. My wife is Jewish and buys it for Passover every year.

Lucky you!  Is it any good?  How is it different?

Our local Coke distributor here in South Mississippi has never heard of it.  Maybe the local Jewish population is not large enough to support the option.

Yes, but how long did it take?  It's now like the blood and turnips thing.  Takes forever.

They need the money and are going to hold onto it as long as possible.

Inadequate staffing?  How is it that they have adequate staff to take your cruise deposit instantly but not enough staff to refund monies likewise as fast?

Update:  Just received the check today.  Four weeks to the day.  The estimate was 2-3 weeks, so I guess I'm doing really well.

Any unused OBC amount that comes directly from a cruise agency as an extra perk is refundable (I actually received such refund on a few occasions).

I love this change and I love that it sounds like the Prima (which I'm sailing on at the end of October) will have Coke.   I drink either Coke Zero or Diet Dr Pepper pretty exclusively.

Now, NCL just needs to get some Freestyle machines and we're REALLY in business!!  😄  My husband does sugar-free and caffeine free which in many places means his drink options are water or water.  😛  So the Freestyle machines make a big difference for him.

water or water.  Many options there:  water from a tap, water in a can, water in a bottle, flavored water, well water, spring water...

Isn't it true that the original Coke had trace amounts of cocaine, hence the name? Or is that just an urban legend?

I think that was the very original, original coke and I believe you are right. I was thinking of the original as being offered in our lifetimes. I remember my trips to Mexico during the 60's and 70's and going to the agenceas to buy it by the case.

Today, you can still get that original, bottled cases at Sam's Club.  I also read where you can buy kosher coke during Passover.  It has a yellow bottle cap on it.  No chemicals, additives, etc.  Sadly, I couldn't find it anywhere in the area where I live.  Has anyone else seen it where you live?

My wife and I were on the island princess for a transatlantic which ended in South Hampton on June 13, 2022.   We had a $740.00+ credit on our shipboard account.   Not ever having had that in 20+ cruises, I figured that the money would be credited back to our credit card on file NOPE!

After a couple weeks had passed I called Princess and endured about a 3 hour wait... to be told that "I must transfer you to the business office"  I was on hold 90 minutes for that.   The young lady then td me "to be patient, return of credits must be paid in check form and take 6 to 8 weeks.

I called back after 8 weeks... and after another 2 hour hold time ( the first representative gave me her "direct" number) and this representative told me.. "actually they are taking up to 10 weeks now".    Earlier this week I called back (10 week mark) and was on hold for 2 hours, someone picked up and then hung up on me.   I am beyond frustrated with Princess.  Heck of a way to do business, especially  for an "Elite" status passenger. I'm looking for a new cruise line... is there any line out there that doesn't keep you on hold for a minimum of 90 mins?

Lesson learned, I'll NEVER make that mistake again.

You too, eh?  This seems to be pretty common practice now.
