  1. sorry if this was covered - but I searched.

I am on Oasis on the 24th... can't wait... first RC... got a 3pm slot, but I'm in a Grand Suite and I've called 2x now and they said you can arrive with Priority Embarkation at 12:30p... Hearing 11:30a on this board too... especially with Priority in a Suite... anyone else have that experience or a different one?  Would hat to arrive at 12 noon and sit until 3... especially since I live 20 minutes away (so close but yet so far...) 🙂  Thanks!!!

I'm platinum on NCL and they never give us a time... but this is first RCL AND post-covid... any advice is great!!

  2. I have been on numerous NCL cruises, but always on the Gem. First time this March on the Breakaway.

Quick question - is Rock of Ages like a normal evening show? Do you get to go once or can you go multiple times?

I live in NYC and I absolutely LOVED Rock of Ages and am looking forward to seeing it again... can you go more than once if you want?

    Thanks for your review BTW...

  3. The made to order crepes at night in the buffet area are amazing!!!! I crave them!!!! :D

And I think that Le Bistro is the best around. Best restaurant on board by far. The mushroom soup is the BEST. I have asked to have a second bowl. And they make a Rib Eye for two (32 oz) that would rival any steak house in NYC.

With that said, I think that the Main Dining Room was average. My cruise in 2014 was better than 2013/2012 in the MDR. I think it is getting better, but not AMAZING.

Plus, I think that the specialty restaurants are worth the money.

My cruise is 156 days away and I am totally getting excited talking about it!!!

    Woot woot!!!

  4. I have to agree with Vyhanek and the best thing about NCL is the Haven.

I haven't been on many other ships, but I have been on many different categories on NCL. By far, the Haven is well worth the upgrade.

From being the first to embark, to the private dining room for Lunch and Breakfast, and the private sun deck and pool, it really is an indulgent vacation.

I live 30 minutes away from the NYC Cruise Terminal and about 38 minutes after I leave my house, I'm in the VIP lounge, all checked-in and relaxing. There is no crazy lines and it is tranquil and relaxing.

The only piece of advice I would give someone going on a NCL ship is that while the ship is "Freestyle" everyone seems to follow the same 'formula' of the day. Pool is EMPTY by 5:00 and everyone tries to jam into a place at 6:30 to get to a show at 8:00. It's CRAZY.

We have a big lunch and then a little nap and then at 5:00 we are enjoying the pool ALONE!!! A little room service at 7:30 or something from the buffet is nice, but then back to the Pool. We do the casino in the heat of the afternoon when there aren't that many people there.

Change up the schedule to best maximize your time.

I LOVE NCL and just booked my 6th cruise in the past 4 years. Hope you enjoy!!
