I created a roll call for my November 2023 cruise, both here and at the other place.  Over there, we have 20+ members.  Here it's few people and infrequent posts.  Many/most of the travelers on my sailing are cruise and NCL vets as it's the finals for the poker tournament so there won't be as many questions re: how the drink/dining packages work etc.  Plus, we're still 10+ months out.

As for a M&G, someone else will need to step up if they want one because I've never attended those.  I'm just one of those people who find it awkward/painful mingling among large groups of people I don't know.

If it wasn’t for CC roll call 15 years ago, we wouldn’t have meet a couple we now consider “family”. Meet on CC, had a pre-cruise get together and the rest is history.

So much fun and laughter, wouldn’t have it any different.

Here's an easy way to determine so.

Will you have 25 drinks at the Alchemy Bar during a 7 day cruise?  If the answer is yes, your answer is yes, get Cheers no questions asked.

    😄

Like your thinking, PLUS options to try different drinks. Don’t like it try something else.

Did someone say “Deal Breaker”😂😂, I’ll have 1 or 2.

    Beer is about $8.

    Mixed drinks about $10-$13.

When deciding, don't forget to consider port days, when you (most likely) wouldn't be on the ship for much of the day.

You are still back on the ship “usually” by 4:00. That gives you a good 7 hours. Plus start the day with a Mimosa or Bloody Mary or Baileys and Coffee.

I agree.  I think it is because people have the '15' thing stuck in their head which has nothing to do with being cost effective.  Even if I don't start drinking until 5pm I would have 7-8 drinks before going to bed.

Most cruises I have 2 Baileys and Coffee to start the day. That’s about $16 right there.

Agree.  I only buy Cheers if its a cruise where I've already been to the ports and plan on staying on the ship.  Otherwise it is cheaper for me to just buy as I go because there will be full days where I will be out in the ports and won't even come close to getting my money's worth in drinks.  And if its a European cruise, don't buy it at all since you can purchase alcohol in the ports to enjoy onboard instead of having to hold until the end of the cruise.  Love being able to pick up good local wines.

Can never understand the logic behind I will be in port(s). Most ports/itineraries you are back ON the ship by 3 or 4. That’s gives you 7 hours to drink. Having 1 drink an hour is fairly easy to do.

Plus start the day with a couple of Mimosas or Baileys and Coffee or Spiked Coffee from the coffee shop.

Well, yes, I'd guess that most of the people here who have experienced problems have found the issues after reviewing their account on the Hub App.  I most certainly did.  The thing is that Carnival shouldn't be making these mistakes in the first place, and we shouldn't have to waste our vacation time getting them corrected.

Where, when, how have you never seen a mistake made whether it be human error or computer error or such.

It happens. We don’t live in a “perfect” society. Better off rolling with the punches than worry about wasting time on vacation.

There is NO perfect vacation. Something always goes not according to plan.

After my first visit to most bars and giving a proper introduction the the bartender, my drinks almost magically appear as I arrive at the bar going forward.

What might be lost on people from overseas is many, many bartenders/servers work for a low wage in the US. And they depend on tips from us to make a decent wage.

Pretty sure for the hours crew work on the ship, tips are very beneficial.

the whole point of pre paid gratuititeis and auto gratuaties on bardrinks is that you dont need to carry cash on board

particularly  if you arent from USA

That has always been a “talking” point. Foreigners aren’t acclimated to tipping, whereas it’s basically a rule of thumb in the USA.

Not saying one way is better than the other.

Again right or wrong , you give a bartender a tip up front at a bar THEY will definitely remember you. Like mentioned a nod of the head/eye contact and your drink will appear.

UPDATE: We changed to a noon flight.  Just gonna be rushed and stressful.  No reason for it.  My wife found a flight that gets us home at pretty close to the same time (better connections, less layover) so we're good to go.

Thanks to everyone for your advice.  Saved us a stressful day!

I knew a Buckeye would come to his senses.

There is definitely more to this story or it was a paid negative comment.

There is one cruise company that has been known to hire people in far away lands to write negative reviews on other cruise lines.

Look at the view counter on this post.  It looks like a bot was used to drive the view counter through the roof.  It also just seems off and then the poster disappears.

And OP’s “first” post on CC.

Maybe JOHNNY WALKER, JIM BEAM and JACK DANIEL'S will be at the muster station with their old friend BUD.

Now that’s living the HIGH LIFE. Wonder if anyone has been to OLD MILWAUKEE, that’s just PABST Milwaukee which IS MILWAUKEE(s) BEST.

Takes a lot of STEEL RESERVE(d) to built these ships for the mustard station. I’ll bet the old time captains spoke OLDE ENGLISH.
