  1. Another huge THANKS to you for the list!

Thanks to Curcurt as well for the info on Plaquemines. I love love love this sort of stuff! My hubby is very sweet to feign interest as I play docent on our trips. I'll just settle him in with a cocktail (or 3) as we sail our way down this list to the Gulf of Mexico!

  2. I am a Corvette owner and had heard of decorating the door before my first cruise. I found a magnetic Route 66 sign and proudly placed it on my door. Well....no one else put anything up and ya know those passageways are LOOONG. We came in a bit fatigued (great term for it) from the evening of dancing and drinking cold soda. Someone had moved the little magnet 2 doors. I didn't pay attention to the number, I just put my card in the door! Once, twice, three times. No luck until the occupant opened the cabin door to see who the hell was trying to get in. We both got a laugh out of it thank goodness and I bought them a cold soda the next night. I wont be putting them up again or if I do...I will keep track of the number.

    I can't breathe!!!! You win!!

  3. It's just a bit north of Playa, but El Dorado Royale is fabulous!! We went there on our honeymoon 5 years ago and loved it so much we went back for our 1st anniversary. They have amazing a la carte restaurants and each small group of Casitas has it's own swim up bar pool, so you really feel like you are in a smaller, intimate resort if you are booked in a Casita (highly recommended!!) although you can certainly join in the fun at the main pool. If you are a beach person, the beach here isn't fabulous, a little rocky, but I was more than content to sit at the pool and just look out at the beach and ocean. Heaven on Earth!!!!
