  1. I know you need to have tickets for the Anna & Elsa Meet & Greet, but does Olaf always appear too on the Fantasy? My son just wants to meet Olaf and doesn't care about meeting the princesses, so I don't want to take an opportunity from someone else if Olaf won't be there.

I've never seen him on the Fantasy, and we've done the AE MG last year and this.

  2. I thought the same thing. We are already spending thousands of dollars on an upcoming cruise. To add another couple hundred for photos is ridiculous. Maybe I'll be disappointed I didn't book the package.

You can book it at the discounted rate ($349 ?) and get a refund up until the day before the last day of your cruise if you don't like the results.

  3. Tortola was beautiful. I did the Baths at virgin Gorda--costly but worth it. There are 2 paths from the parking lot to the beaches. I took the one to the left which I believe was supposedly shorter but steeper. It went to the "less developed" beach. The 2 beaches connect thru the baths.

The path to the left at the top was the long "gradual" path, while the one to the right is the steeper, shorter one. Note to others - supposedly, the path through the rocks is "one way" . We initially went to the left, and through the rocks to the beach on the "right". When we went to go back through the rocks, a tour guide annoyingly stopped us and kept saying it was one way and we shouldn't go back through. So we went all the way up and back down the left path to the other side. Tiring. On the way, we passed a crew hauling up an older woman on a stretcher who had somehow broke her ankle on the path.

  4. Ummm....the rule is 2 bottles per person not to exceed 750ml. each. There is no reason for them to have a problem with your wife having 2 bottles. As a couple' date=' you were entitled to bring a total of 4 bottles.[/quote']

D'oh, you're right. I was thinking it was one bottle or six beers.

  5. So, the answer is yes, this is still going on.

I went to the Remy/Palo desk around 1pm and asked about it. The hostess put our names on the list. There was only one other party on there already. She said they would call the room around 2:30 if they were actually going to do it. They only hold the event if the restaurant is not too busy that night. No problem, turned out. We got the call. Dress code is only collared shirt for men. No need for jackets. Women in nice dress. Event starts at 5:30p.

Our group of five showed up on time, waited in the Meridian for a few minutes. The others didn't show, so it was just us. Our host (head server?) started the tour of the restaurant, and we entered the enclosed group dining room to the right upon entering. We had champagne and blini with caviar. The chef came out and talked about the food, and he was in and out telling us about the dishes all the way through. The sommelier also talked about the wine each time they were presented.

We moved into the main room, and eventually to the "special" room made to look like the restaurant in the movie. The chef signed our menus at the end.

There were five samples altogether, the last sweet. There was the caviar, then a salmon creation, then gnocchi with an incredible wine sauce, then lamb, and finally, a crazy good chocolate dish. They were all amazing, and you could do this event and call yourself full, with maybe a snack later. It was $50pp, and I think I tipped $30 for the three on our bill. Would do it again, definitely.

  6. Has anyone completed this cruise on the Fantasy? How did you find the port excursions? Travelling with an almost 2.5yr old.

Curious how the fantasy compares to the Magic experience wise. We sailed concierge on the Magic in Jan/17. Noticed the 1drm configuration is quite different compared to the Magic. Worried it may be challenging to put a crib in for the LO.

Yes, just got off last week. We did the Baths on Virgin Gorda on our own, catching the ferry/taxi special from Speedy's. And in St. Thomas, we rented a car and went to Magen's Bay, Drake's Seat and had lunch at a place in Frenchtown. We were going to shop downtown, but the lunch took too long.

Note to anyone who comes upon this. There IS an Avis office right at Havensight dock. You do NOT need to go to the airport to rent from Avis. Be aware that if you do not fill up the tank, even a tiny bit, they bill you $20.

  7. Looking to possibly use Speedy's service to get over to the Baths on Virgin Gorga when we're in Tortola on the Fantasy:

    http://www.bviferries.com/specials.html

Question is, it says "Returns to Road Town at 3:30 pm (on Sundays at 4:30 pm)" . Say we don't want to stay there until 3:30 because we want to get back and walk the town. Can you take an earlier ferry back, or is your "special" return limited to just that late ferry? We were thinking of doing the DCL half day excursion, but it's twice the price.

Alternatively, is it easy to take the 9:00 Speedy over and take a different Ferry back? http://www.bviferryservices.com/index.php/schedules

    Thx!

  8. Your credit card can act as a buffer for dealing with mistakes.

I do book my DCL through Costco, just because they give you 10% or so back on a card. But they don't do any work. I just tell them what I want and never call them again.

  9. If you're just doing a 3 or 4 day, I wouldn't waste money on insurance unless you have some pressing need. It's unlikely you'll need a helicopter back from Nassau or anything.

Booking WDW and DCL is easy peezy. You can do it all online yourself. It's part of the fun.

  10. Hi, well we were able to book activities yesterday. The cabanas are all sold out already and the only spa appt time we were able to get is at 545 and we have the second dining seating. I could not change this either. What time approximately is second dining time and is it likely that we can be put on the waitlist and get this or better spa time? I am so disappointed. I am checking every day, but geesh. How can everything be booked within minutes? My travel agent must not be on it. I was actually told that today was the first day and it was yesterday!

As a first time cruiser, there are many who book excursions and things prior to you, so it isn't like things were gone within minutes. I'm gold and can't get a cabana. There are a limited number, and they are taken by concierge and platinum guests at 120 days out.

There will be plenty of spa times open once on ship.

We prefer dinner seating later so we don't have to rush from the day's activities. Early is 5:45 and late is 8:15. So, you see the early show, do an activity in between, like trivia, or dance party or whatever, and then go to dinner. Since you snack all day, it isn't like you're hungry. However, when you board, you can go request to change your dining time. Or you can try the "change dining time" link on https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/my-disney-cruise/reservations/
