  1. We have just returned from a super14 night cruise around the Mediterranean on the Crown. Everything was great but we were a little perplexed when we tried to order our first night dinner.

We had chosen late fixed dining for our family of four and were allocated a very nice table in the Boticelli Restaurant.

On the first night we were all torn between a couple of entrée one of which was new to us and which we all fancied trying. Therefore I ordered my entrée plus the new dish ( a Curtis Stone seafood pasta ) for the "table". I have done this many times but on this occasion the waiter declined my request and informed me that I could only order one entrée.

I must admit I was a bit taken aback and felt rather embarrassed. I had obviously missed this rule on my previous Princess cruises and am wondering whether it is a recent development?

I have on a couple cruises had the waiter tell me that I could not order two at once, but after I have eaten my dinner I could order again the entrée that I wanted with my first one.

  2. Just off the Ruby. Yes there were dogs, and more dogs, all little breeds. One lady had two little dogs which were riding in a dog stroller. There were at least 5 different passengers with dogs. I did not see them at formal night but at other times yes and also in the buffet. I also did not see and service animal saddles in them. I guess if you want to take your dog you just do it. I just might take my Lab next year.

The food on the 15 day trip was very bad. and the entertainment. Well, just say I thought we were on a cruise to Mexico. Two of the three music entertainments were Mexican and singing in Spanish. The Cruise Directer (FRANK) toward the end of the cruise had to come on the morning wake show and tell passengers to stop complaining about him to passenger services. If they wanted to complain do it on the e-mail survey they will get ( I Did).

  3. NO.

But I was in one on the deck below-D616. It's a mini suite so a bigger room.

It's seen in my Ruby 2015 review below.

Are you concerned about the location?

No, I'm happy with the Cabin. It has a large Balcony and the total of 271 feet if fine with us. Just woundered if any one had sailed in it or adjavent cabin. Thanks

  4. This is just a heads up to you, that will be going on the Ruby, that there is no sports of any kind after 6:00 PM. No ping pong or basketball or golf after 6:00PM.

They took out the suffleboard completely:mad: We really enjoyed playing some of those things after dinner. My DH is really disappointed. He now tells me don't book anymore cruises on the Ruby.

We are on board right now. Doing a BtoB for a total of 19 days, Cal. Coastal & Hawaii R/T LA. I talked to the assistant CD today about this & he said it is not fleet wide. It is just the Ruby.

    That sucks:rolleyes:

  5. It seems that it has been this way since Jan took over as President at Princess. The cruise I'm on has been the same price since I signed on. I check cabins each day and they have not sold a OW cabin on Deck 8, the same cabins are available for the last month in Mid Aft. The cruise is to Hawaii from LA on the 15th of November 2015. I cruise this route each year and I have never seen it so slow to book. For an obstructed OV on Mid Aft it is 1659.00:eek:

  6. Hi all of you cruise experts, does anyone know which dining room on the Grand Princess is traditional and which is for anytime dining? Thanks.

    GRAMMYKATI!

The Botticelli Dining Room on deck 6 all the way Aft is the traditional dinning room:). The Michelangelo on deck 6 midship and the Da Vinc on deck 5 are both anytime. :)The Da Vinci is also used for breakfast and lunch.

  7. We are embarking today for our Hawaiian cruise on Century. Some people on our roll call said the received an e-mail from Celeberty stating that they would have boarding times by deck starting at 1130 up to 2:30. I did not receive a e-mail but saw what another roll call member cut and pated on the roll call page. I have attached below.

    This is the email

  8. Just posted this on Facebook............I am so frustrated with Princess right now.

"Wow am I unhappy with Princess!! I am traveling with my elderly folks on the Coral Princess on 10/14. We were confirmed for late seating but my parents decided they wanted early seating. They are booked in a suite so they are automatically confirmed for the seating of their choice. So Princess has confirmed them for the 5:45 seating. I am cross referenced to them and am traveling alone with them. But Princess will NOT confirm me for the same seating. Instead, I am confirmed for the 5:15 seating and am wait listed for 5:45. So what am I supposed to do? My TA and I have made repeated calls to Princess but they flat out refuse to help. The Princess rep told me to talk to the maitre d' the day of boarding. What a hassle!! This is even more frustrating since I am an Elite cruiser and have 33 cruise credits with them. I am tired of the way they treat their customers and for the first time am considering trying another line where my business might be appreciated!"

If I were traveling with a large group then I would never expect Princess to confirm me. It is the fact that I am traveling alone with my folks!!! My TA even told me that my folks are at a table for 4. Watch Princess confirm another couple at the table with my partents and forget about me! I have seen stranger things happen!!

To ensure you have a great meal with your parents have them change back to 2d seating.. Problem solved.

  9. I'm here. Pass line, odds and 2 come bets is all I play.:) I never vary from that strategy. Occasionally I'll spread $4 on the hardways for the dealers. My DW also plays if no one is at her favorite "Let it Ride" table.

I'm a dice setter and often get challenged by the stick man for throwing the dice too high in an arc trying for that single roll at the backboard.

You have learned how to play craps the right way:D. I play in Vegas as well as on the cruise ships and I have very good luck at the tables playing the Pass Line/ Come Bet and the Odds that go alonge with them. I may play one hard way (if the point is a 4-6-8-10:cool:.
