  1. Thank You so much for your replies. I have unpacked that bag, and will see what I can double up on. I am platinum, so I can have 3 bags laundered. I have to be careful what I send them, because they use very hot water.

theriac... I will take your advice and remove one of the formal outfits. There are 2 cruise elegant nights, and 1 formal night on he Journey cruises. I will just wear one of them twice!

GweninTX... I have moved my jewelry and some shoes to my carry on. Thanks

Crookedhalo...I'm going to see which sets can be mixed. Thanks

RuthlessBoss...Thank You also. I am used to changing my clothes twice on a cruise. Once during the day, and I don't want to wear those dirty clothes to dinner, so again for dinner. It has nothing to do with who cares. I am the same way when at home. If we go out in the evening, I will shower and re-dress again.

P4all... I will send my laundry. Thanks much.

Jh2360.... I have my large bag and my carry on. My DH is lifting it for me to weigh. I am not able to take 2 large bags I wish. Lol. Thanks.

I appreciate all of your replies. Once I re-do, I will come back with my final weight.:D

That's why I always have to do a test pack. Lol.

When you send your dirty clothes to the laundry write on the bag cold water only and no hot dryer and also tell your room steward when he takes your laundry. I have done this and it works my clothes come back the same size I sent!! I also slip them an extra $5.

  2. Thanks for the feedback. Interesting how some distain the online chat, yet want to interact with peeps. Others LOVE the online yack for as much as a year, but have no desire to meet a real human being, that they`ve shared family stories, personal preferences, island fantasies, off color jokes, food favs, cabin picks, an a bunch more.

People are a funny lot...just when I think I got it figured out-They Amaze me!

    G`nite an Happy sailing!

I believe we met you and your wife at a M&G on one of our cruises and we shared a golf cart with you on Grand Turk. We had a great time and maybe we'll meet again on another cruise.

  3. We were in an aft balcony on the 1/3 cruise on the Breeze and we bought the $60 pkg. we could not get reception in our room. Occasionally if we stood out in the hall we could get it.We went to guest services and they did say there are some areas on the ship where you will not get good reception.

We did find if we went and sat near the fun hub on deck 5 we did get reception. Guest services did say that the center of the ship got the best reception.

  4. I'll use my iPad I think, for the Social Plan, but if I chose to use my iPhone, what would prevent other data from accessing my phone account ? Or do you still keep data turned off and in airplane mode ?

yes Jane you keep the phone or iPad in airplane mode. we bought 2 pkgs. so both Dan and I could use it at the same time.

  5. When we went out of NY in Sept. the lounge was packed with priority cruisers, these included platinum, diamond, fttf, and premiere casino cruisers. The problem as I see it is if Carnival is going to have so many guests be "priority" they need to have more workers checking in all the "priority" guests. The next time I run into this I'm going to go in the regular line then I will at least know when it is my turn to be checked in and not wondering why we are still waiting while others are walking in and getting checked in immediately.

As a stockholder I'm all for Carnival making money by selling fttf and I don't see this as a problem.

  6. last night at 10:23 pm I sent in 2 price protection forms for 2 cruises we have booked for Feb. 2015 and within 5 minutes I had an e-mail honoring this request! I was amazed at the speed with which we received this reply.

I do believe it is my responsibility to watch the prices and then follow through to get the price reductions. Thanks Carnival for being so efficient!!

  7. A word of warning about Nathan, we rented a golf cart 3 months before our cruise and he charged our card then when we got there we were told all the carts were taken by a group. They knew this when they took our money but tok it anyway. They think this is ok because they do give you your money back but it can ruin your plans.

  8. His e-mail address is nathanandlinda@tciway.tc I have been trying to get a confirmation e-mail from him for 2 weeks now. I've called him and he said his e-mail was down and that was last week. I'm starting to think maybe his problems are sporadic and thars why some get thru and some don't.

When you book you need the confirmation e-mail to pick up your cart. I have no idea what will happen if we go without it. I'm going to keep trying because we have a little time before our cruise. Good luck in getting thru!!

  9. although the Maniacs are a bunch of people who meet up on cruises, they are just that. When an outsider comes in and tries to tag along or ask questions half the time they do not answer. If you aren't over the age of 40 and in their roll call good luck having them respond. I am NOT the only person who noticed it on the cruises that they are on at the same time. That being said the Breeze is an awesome ship.

This was my first cruise with the maniacs and I found them very friendly and helpful. They definitely made me feel welcome and I noticed people in the group from all ages.

There was one very young couple that was very active with the group and we definitely felt they enjoyed being with us "OLD" people!

Our first cruise was in 1984 with an "OLDER" group and it still is the best cruise ever! We love being with all ages!

  10. One other note, not sure if this question is specific to the Dream or Splendor but I highly recommend NOT booking cabin 12216 on the Dream. The stairs to the water slide are along the wall beside this cabin...there is no "sleeping in" in the mornings with the pitter patter of not so little feet up and down those stairs.

If I did it all over again, I would book below on deck 11.

We had this room on the 12/3/2009 cruise and loved it!! We never weere bothered by noise and liked the convenience of the door to the deck right by our room. We are not light sleepers so that may make a difference!!

  11. I hope everyone who was promised a gift in there room on there future cruise actually receives it. I was on the Conquest and also was promised a bon voyage gift in my room but I never received it. The casino hostess was very rarely seen in the casino. I kept track of my points this time and had almost 3000 by the end of the cruise and I was playing less than I usually do because of their unfulfilled promises!!

  12. We did the tour on the Dream and it was great! You do have a lot of stairs to climb. I counted 14 flights up during the 4 hours, we could not use the elevators. Some of the people on this tour were struggling with all the stairs.

They really stress that you have to be able to walk a lot!! But it was worth it and yes it was on a seaday.
