Hi.
We are embarking on our 1st Princess cruise Friday!! Yay!
Just received the "Final Info..." email.
Couple of questions please...
1. Does the Princess@sea app/page work if you do not sign up for onboard internet?? Is it useful?
2. The email states liquor brought onboard will be discarded but am I correct to assume that souvenir bottles of liquor purchased in ports will be held for you until the last night like other lines?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Terri.
Thank you very much for your review. I love your photos and your writing style, easy to read and very helpful. I just finished fine tuning our plans with your review. We leave Thursday to follow the same itinerary on the Royal.
Thank you very much for your effort. It has been incredibly helpful.

Thank you for posting. Very helpful.

Or we can all answer the questions again or ignore your post .......no worries.....
Enjoy your first Princess cruise......I was typing my post when yours posted so what did u decide...will u get the card?
Thank you Land Lover.
Based on your post of the prices, I will wait until on ship. If we find the included coffee to our liking, I can purchase my occasional cappuccino as desired.
If we don't like the included coffee, then we will purchase the card onboard and make someone happy with the bonus sale.
Thanks for your help.

We will be on the Royal.
I usually search my questions first and this time, I didn't. Searched and found all the answers!!
Thank you all.

Hi.
This May will be our 1st cruise on Princess. Have cruised Celebrity, Norwegian and Royal in the past.
We usually bring mugs that we can fill at the buffet stations and/or order room service for the mornings. We like the occasional cappuccino. We are not coffee fanatics but definitely need a daily fix.
Please advise Princess options. Should we get the coffee card? Can it be shared for "brewed" coffee?

Marylizcat - I said the same referencing Rome and the Coloseum!
Were you there via cruise on your visits? I would think the sights would be very crowded when a large ship is in port. Seems like where everyone would want to be.

Trying to decide between 2 tour options. Both private car guides and small group, comparative prices and references. This is our first visit to this area.
One will take us to the Neolithic highlights (Ring of Broderick, Standing Stones, Scara Brae, Yasnaby Cliffs). The other is avoiding the crowds and will go to Broch of Bersay, Earls palace, farm museum, Broch of Gurness.
Both are of interest to us and love the idea of avoiding some of the crowds but worry that we will not have seen what we should.
Thoughts?

We were on Oasis 7/23 - 30th. Branch and Poppy were there for sure! So fun! To my knowledge, there was 2 appearances. First one was "no photos allowed" with ship photographer. Second one was on last sea day, take your own photos. Our granddaughter loved it and we got great pics of our own.

Thank you all! Just what I wanted.
APDMOM - I was sure I saw this in your review but could not find it when I went back. Probably didn't scroll down enough.
Thanks again!

Thank you for responding, but not my question.
Anyone out there have a pic of Sabor menu on Oasis since going to fixed price??
-
I understand that Sabor is no longer ala carte. Although my cruise planner charges the $19 fee, the sample menu is still the ala carte menu.
Extensive online search I've found what I think is the new menu that is much more limited but not sure I trust the source.
Any CCers out there have a photo of the new menu?
We sail on Oasis in 2 weeks. Thank you much.
-
Please clarify.
Will the option to purchase a beverage package pre-cruise possibly go away? And then only be available on board at full price?
If I purchase now and a sale comes up, I can cancel and purchase at the lower price?
-
We will be on our 1st RCCI cruise end of July, Oasis of the Seas.
How do they handle low sodium diet requests?
We have cruised with Celebrity many times and they are great. We almost always stay in MDR and the matre'd goes over the next day's menu after dinner with us.
-
Any idea if the sushi offering at the Buffett area in the evening is still available once the new venue opens??
We would miss that terribly. It's part of our evening cruise routine!

Lorey can you tell me how your debark day worked out? Did you store luggage at the pier? Easy to find? $5 per bag? Easy pick up?
Thanks for any help.

Yes Cherie, Iolani Palace was one of the things I was thinking of. The Duke property tour times will not work. I think we will go with that plan. Can always opt to board the ship if we're not feeling it at the moment.
Thanks all for your thoughts.

Yes, boarding POA, I had read muster was 4:45 but I will check on that. We have 2 days prior and will already have done Pearl Harbor. Looking to fill in a couple of hours with sights instead of waiting to leave on ship. Having trouble with the logistics of that!
Good to know about porters. Is the terminal large? I am considering dropping luggage and returning but have to look into that. Have never done that before.

Having trouble making plans for embark day in Honolulu. 2 couples with luggage. We are planning to hike Diamond Head early, then return rental car (Waikiki location), pack and check out of hotel. Now need help! We would prefer to see more of Honolulu and board around 4:00. Can leave bags at hotel but will have to backtrack to pick them up through traffic. Could keep rental longer but doesn't hold 4 with luggage anyway. Thinking maybe hiring a van and driver to tour for a few hours but would prefer to keep costs minimal. Suggestions?

Thank you all. Very helpful.

Is it reasonable and not too rushed to explore Waimea Canyon on 2nd Kauai day from POA? Google puts it at an hour+ drive from harbor. We will already have rental car and will be able to start out early. I would want to return car at 12:30 to be back onboard without worry.
Thanks for any assistance.

We are planning to do a helicopter tour in Kauai this October. We did the helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon a few years ago. The visibility from a helicopter is amazing. It is much more open and wide angle than planes. As posted, you wear headphones, so noise is not an issue. At the canyon they played music through some of the tour. It was very majestic.
It can be very warm depending on time of day and sun location. Although that was a closed door tour.
Our granddaughter fell asleep! The pilot told us it happens a lot with children due to the warmth and the drone of the helicopter.
I would not describe it as noisy and it was definitely not boring.
We are looking forward to doing it in Kauai. I am sure it will be a highlight of the trip.

Thank you very much for your report. So excited to see your cabin pics. We will be in two of them Oct 2015. Such fun to get to see them in advance! Thanks for your time, it will be very helpful in my planning.

We will be in Istanbul on cruise stop for 1 day and 1 morning. Planning DIY, Blue Mosque, Aya Sofiya, Basilica Cistern, Bazaar and Spice Market. We have a food tour scheduled meeting at 6pm in Taksim Square. The following morning we have until about noon. Planning Topkapi Palace/ Harem for brief visit of highlights. I am not enthralled with the palace but feel like we should see it.
My questions...
Planning to get lira at ATM upon arrival and take tram to Sultanahmet. Will we have a problem with denomination small enough for fare? Should we convert pre-trip (=more costly)?
Should we purchase Aya Sofiya and Topkapi admissions in advance online?
Any additional advice is welcome.
Have been lurking here for months. Thanks to all for the great advice.
