Just wondering if anyone has been allowed to disembark a few days early on a NCL cruise.  We have a long cruise planned and have found out that there might be a family event the last day of the cruise that we would like to attend.  Really don’t want to cancel the cruise and have known other cruise lines to allow passengers to disembark before the final port but not sure about NCL.  We realize that maritime laws cannot be broken and we would not want any refund or reduced fare.  If anyone has done this, would you mind sharing how you went about getting the needed approvals?

We will be in Manzanillo for our first time this May. Originally I had read the boards and decided that we would exchange some dollars for pecos, take the #1 bus to the beach for a massage, beach walking and beach glass hunting. The information that I understood at that time was that this area was one of the safest in Mexico and that going on our own would be perfectly fine. Now I am reading posts about the US government level 4 warnings and am wondering if we should change our plans. We have been to the other Mexican ports many times on organized tours and on our own with no problems. Just wondering if there have been big changes in the last few months? Hoping someone who lives there or has visited in the last month or so can give some insight. (I know there are the long organized tours to the ruins, etc., just not interested in those activities.) We are on NCL out of New Orleans in April and will be renting a car to drive to Florida on our return. I am trying to find out if Budget runs a shuttle from the port and if they do which location they use? I see a 1317 Canal St and a 2 Poydras St location in downtown. If they do not run a shuttle it looks like the Poydras St location is very close to the NCL terminal. Would it be possible to walk there (mapquest shows it is .5 miles from the terminal address). Any help on these locations would be very much appreciated. I tried calling Budget but got their call center and they were not much help. Thanks!
