@rattla That is a great attitude. I an assure you, with that attitude, you will have a wonderful time and I hope you will honor us all with your review afterwards. I am cruising on another brand in 78 days. I will miss the darn Almond Croissant only available in the Haven. My wife and I have lost lost of weight doing Keto for our upcoming cruise so you can imagine what that first pastry will taste like.
Go to the Haven Horizon Observation Deck, the Coffee Machines are Over the Top, get an Almond Croissant and remember I made the suggestion.
Cruise well and enjoy every moment.
I'm still reading this thread. On page 75. But this question pops up in my head. You mentioned the Haven Horizon for coffee & croissants. What time does that open? We're early risers & I think the Haven Restaurant opens at 7?
We're sailing on The Bliss in December. Panama Canal

Call your travel agent or the agent you used for your booking. Sure, you can call the concierge however this issue, which is common and I hope you have your requests and conformations in writing, is more common then one might think. I am sorry this happened to you. This is the third post, on three separate blogs I have addressed on the same topic.
Anyone reading this, please book your own flights and don't even give the cruise brand an opportunity to book flights for you. They are awful at it.
Cruise well and enjoy every moment.
Thank you for your quick reply.
My travel advisor is away from the office LOL so I went ahead & called the concierge. She said my agent had it in there, but for some reason it wasn't "added"
Whatever that means?
Anyway, it's all worked out & lesson learned.
We won't have them do the flights again.

We're in the Haven for Panama canal this December. We called & asked to arrive in Miami 2 days before (before the deadline) and asked for the Marriott.
Got our flight info & we arrive the day of.
Would our pre-cruise concierge be the one to call?

I have a question concerning the Ncl weight restrictions for luggage. On the homepage all I could find was that a max. of 22kg / 50 pounds per bag is allowed.
Is it the same for Haven guests? How strict are they when your bag is a little overweight? We are planning on travelling with only one shared bag starting tomorrow which is about 26kg / 50 pounds. What would happen in that case? Our airline allows more than 22 kg and guest flying business class for example could even check bags with a 32 kg / 70 pounds per bag limit…
Thanks everyone!
I'm reading thru past your question & not seeing it answered. Did you get an answer to this?

@LindaKB It seems your question about about having your flights coming in two days prior to embarkment. I am on lots of cruise brand boards and this issue is something that some of the brand have handled. Unfortunately, I do not know the answer for NCL. It has nothing to do with being in the Haven thought. Please call your travel agent immediately or if you purchased directly from NCL, call them.
The one thing I do know is that once the ticket is issued, that is all she wrote. Let us know what happens.
Cruise well and enjoy every moment.
I called Lynn my Norwegian Advisor/agent. She handled everything.
Arrive 2 days before. Stay at the Marriot & all transfers.

Contemplating upgrading to a Haven suite for our November cruise. Can anyone describe what is in the Haven Spa? I called NCL but she wasn't sure. I suspect she may have been reading me the description of the larger spa with general access. Thanks!
On the Bliss last Spring we got the Thermal Suite. It has a huge mineral spa pool with many jets. The usual hot tub ( mostly warm)
Showers to rinse thru out the main room. Robes, towels &lockers men/women locker rooms with private shower & changing room.
Sauna
Steam room
Salt room
Frozen tundra room. 🤣
Ceramic heated loungers.
Our experience on the Bliss. We had a club balcony room for the week but got the week pass for the thermal suite.
Bring shoes (I had to wear tennis shoes one time I forgot my flip flops) the frozen tundra room requires footwear.
Also day passes are available for passengers on port days.
Our port days the thermal suite was a loud busy crazy mad house.
People camped out on the ceramic loungers with towels stacked up underneath them for pillows while they watched movies & shows on their iPads.
Loud talking, just like the main pool.
We ended up not going on port days.
And the last night it was open till 8pm.
We had a routine of using every room. By 6pm they were closing the frozen tundra ☹️ and defrosting it. The ice melting causes a pool of water several inches in the whole place.
We were unable to use the frozen tundra or be comfortable on the ceramic lounger holding all our belongings so we left.
Lesson: sea days great. Port days and last evening not so much.

Hello & thank you for this highly informative thread Gary!!
I started on page 1 & am now on page 40.
I can not emphasize enough the value of actually READING from page 1!! Every couple pages it seems some one chimes in a question that is most always answered the page before! 🙄
That being said, here goes my question ( I'm still bound & determined to finish the entire thread)
My question: we're booked (first time) Haven Spa Balcony December 4th Norwegian Bliss.
We're on the West Coast & got the flights on our booking too.
We would like to arrive 2 days before.
Would we ask now our pre-cruise Haven Concierge to do this?
She was able to easily change our specialty dining reservations over the phone yesterday.
Thank you all for your help.
We're fairly new to Norwegian and brand new to The Haven

I get the frustration, I have no idea on what are talking about getting your money back. Do you know they knew that at 10:30? They are trying to get you on the ship and reacting to events they cannot control. If you want to go home, go home.
I get you Jimbo. We had a group on the Celebrity Summit out of San Juan WEEKS after Maria. OMG This message board kept our outlook alive. ( we stopped listening to negative usa media coverage) Celebrity was telling us NOTHING. We had no clue what to expect. but we kept our hopes up and a positive attitude. The cruise line does what it does (can't blame them! Suck it up buttercup) and we took a leap of faith. BEST cruise we ever took!

They're cancelling.."in an abundance of caution"..but are they *testing* anyone from any other major gathering of people besides a nursing home? That's the problem I'm having. This is NOT just on the cruise ships..I'd bet my next paycheck.
Edited to add: I am very aware and following this more than is probably healthy. No need for snark. I'm also aware of the shortages of PPE at my hospital as an OR nurse. Believe me, I'm plenty aware.
I agree. If they treated airline flights, bus, train travel, sporting events, like cruise lines...then they'd stop it all and test everyone with a slight fever and hiccup. For some reason they are singling out cruise ships. Treat them all the same..just sayin

Ok folks. Our group of 4 flew in from reno last night on southwest. City lights were nice to see. I did some dark areas without power but most all of San Juan was lit up. The airport looks completely normal. We checked in the the Casablanca. I'm posting this now from our room. A.C. is spotty, but other than that everything is normal. We're going out to explore today and will report back later

Wow! What exactly is your reason for being so absolutely negative? What're are you trying to achieve other than knocking down everyone's hopes for a good cruise?
I'm right with ya Batman. There's always one sour puss in each thread. I'll send ya positive vibes. We're leaving Wed & ain't nuthin' getting us down. Thanks to all the happy CC cruisers 😎

The NCL Haven Luxury VIP Experience "Secrets" REVISED for 2022
in Norwegian Cruise Line

I've been a Carnival cruiser most my cruise life. Until my sister booked The Bliss last March for a little "Girl's Cruise"
It's beautiful & I loved the Observation Lounge. I remember walking around the big model of The Bliss in there & closely examining every deck. (My husband loved the Carnival Miracle *me too, it's my favorite ship) because of the Observation DECK. I know, long story, but we sailed last January on Panorama Havana Suite, which is nice, but Panorama has no Observation Deck!! 😠
So back to why I was studying the Bliss model. I was talking to my husband that with The Bliss Observation lounge, it doesn't matter there's no Observation DECK...(it's so nicely done)
However I saw an outside Deck on that model. My sister said, "oh that's for The Haven. Only Haven people can get there"
That's all it took when we booked Panama Canal
