  1. I also have done Alaska multiple times but only on Princess once, and that was enough. I am an avid HAL fan in both Alaska and the rest of the world. HAL's crew is what makes it stand out. Well that and the most comfortable beds on sea. It's a little bit old school classic and that is what makes the experience for us. It's fun to dress up cuz we never do that at home. You are soooo going to love Alaska. Get up early and head outside and just wait for the wildlife to show up. It's amazing!

  2. Are there any cruise lines that allow non service dogs on board. I would love to cruise lots more but I am not willing to leave my very well behaved small dog behind longer then I have to. I am getting ready for our second cruise this year and it is such a downer that she has to stay behind. I may have to give up cruising for a vacation where she can come along...

  3. Thanks for the ideas I will be making a list we go in May next year, so no shorts?:o

I have been twice, both times in September. The first time we wore shorts everyday and got sunburnt. The second time it rained almost everyday. It just depends on the weather gods :)

  4. Not a newbie & I wear a lanyard...doesn't seem weird to me at all since I wear one every day at work. The nicest thing about a lanyard on a cruise is that it doesn't have my picture on it :p ! I also wear the lanyard off the ship since it tucks quite nicely into my shirt for safety. I picked mine up at a celtic shop so I can wear my colors, but they can easily be found in stores since so many people use them nowdays. If you're crafty, you can make your own. :)

Me also! Plus it is so much easier with kids because I can do a quick scan to make sure everybody has thiers.

To the OP No they don't hand them out, but they do have them in the ships store and they make a great souvenier for about $6. They are a lot cheaper in the ports (about $2 to $4) and I pick one up at each new port I go to. They are much more fun to wear at work then the plain ones handed out by my employeer. That way everybody gets to see where I was last :D

  5. We've had "late" luggage, but it has always been there before dinner. Our neighbors had a missing bag and come to find out it went to the bad bag area because it had an iron in it. Owners had to go and retrieve their bag and sign some sort of form to get their iron back at the end of the cruise.
