We are just off Jewel for the 1/8 sailing and we had MTD. I had originally booked 6:30 online but had heard Muster was at 7:45. After we boarded, I went to the MTD podium and they changed it to 6:00. We had plenty of time to eat without rushing to Muster. I did see people come in later.

We just got back and the consensus from my family was that Dominica was our favorite island. We snorkeled at Champagne Reef, swam through Titou Gorge and walked to Trafalagar Falls. I will definitely come back to this beautiful island band because there are many other areas that we did not see.

What I said in that linked post was: " My reading of the official rate chart says $70 for that route for two, $90 for three and then up".

 

I would estimate $124 for 4. Plus tip.

 

Please report back on what you experience.

 

Also, if any of these rides are shared with others, the price will drop by a dollar or two for each passenger.

Thank you Gary! It said about $65-70 for two. I guess I would just double it for four.

Does anyone have a listing of the taxi rates? The only thing I found was from 2014 and it didn't list all of my stops. I am trying to get a ball park figure for my family of four.

I don't want to book a tour because they only stay at Orient for two hours. Most of them have you back to port by 2:00 and since we don't leave until 8:00, I don't want to be back that early.

Well a year plus after your review. and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!! for taking the time to do this. It was amazing. Making me rethink my post cruise course now. :confused: And definitely added the helicopter / dogsledding to my excursion option list. what a once in a lifetime adventure.

I would have to suggest doing

one of the dogsledding excursions. We did the helicopter to a glacier one and it's a once in a lifetime experience.

You might also want to consider the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary which is also free. Buschwildlife.org. A really nice place with rescued Florida wildlife.

We rented from Avis $136 split between two couples. We stopped at Carcross for sandwiches and went to Emerald Lake. We stopped all along the route for pictures. If you're interested, the link to my review is in my signature and Skagway is at post #51.

When are you going? We are going in January and I have booked J&J. I plan on posting a review when we're back.

We were there in August 2015. We saw several humpbacks on our whale watching cruise, saw humpbacks and orcas in Kenai Fjords, saw several humpbacks from the cruise ship itself and saw one whale from above when we were on a helicopter tour.
