  1. There used to be 7 courses, MSC listened to complaints about having too many, reduced them down and people still complain, yes they serve small portions but that does not mean that you cannot ask for more. we have noticed sometimes that the crew can be affected by how the ship is run depending on which Captain they have! we have just returned from Preziosa our 5th MSC cruise where the crew were friendly and happy and always greeted people with a smile.

I appreciate that you can ask for more than one course, which I did on one occasion and the look thar I got from the waiter as if I was the greediest person in the world. This however was not the main issue it was the quality, or rather lack if quality of the food. I am not that a fussy eater but I would not eat some of the food, tastless and no presentation. Not all of the staff were miserable main issues for me was the MDR and reception staff.

  2. Did you go to the buffet? I heard, surprisingly (to me at least) that the food is actually better there. What specifically made the MDR food terrible? Did you go to the other cirque show also? Did you eat at any other specialty restaurants? What'd you eat at Butchers Cut?[/quote

Ate in buffet breakfast and lunch. Was okay but very repetative considering an Italian ship was not impressed with the pasta dishes. MDR food just terrible tastless or sometimes just inedible, no presentation and staff unpleasant mostly. Ate at italian and again not impressed portion sizes tiny ( if you decide to try dont have the fish) and staff again unpleasant.

Did both circ shows and preferred Sonar to Viaggo, had meal with Viaggo and was okay. Had steak at Butchers Cut it was fabulous and choclate dessert was lovely.

  3. Hi,

We are onboard the meraviglia at the moment and the dining times, as I think someone has said above, are currently 6.45pm and 9.30pm.

Apparently there is a dining info point setup on level 6 mid ship near the mini mall from 12-4pm everyday, where you can change your allotted time, though we haven't needed to do it, so I'm not sure how smooth the process is.

Hope that helps reduce some of the stress involved!

    Cheers

Thanks for that makes me feel a little better about set dining times. When you say there is a desk you can change is that just between early and late or is it flexi diners choosing a time?

  4. We had flex/anytime dining for years. Due to taking the Fantastica package I understand that we must have assigned dining on the Divina. Do not want to switch to another MSC option.

How long might we need to wait before ordering if tablemates do not show up on time?

If others arrive very late, would our dinners be held up until theirs is ready also?

Don't mind having dinner run a bit long which I understand is pretty usual for MSC, but wouldn't want it to really be delayed due to tablemates being late.

I'm interested in this also as being forced to have set dining times on the mervigrilia as flexI dining cancelled 😢

  5. Finally got an answer from msc regarding flexi dining and it is no longer available so looks like I am stuck with set dining times which I hate!!!!! This was there reply

Guests are able to make their preference for dining, although guests will be limited to the Classic Seating experience which will involve a set dining time for your evening meal. The first seating will be at approximately 7pn, whereas the second seating will be at approximately 9:30pm, although this will be subject to reconfirmation onboard.

Your dining preference can be requested prior to embarkation via your web check in or you can certainly reply to this email with your request

Can one just returned from the mervigrilia or on at the moment please confirm the actual set djjing time's as msc don't even know that! !!!!

  6. We were on board June 163out of Barcelona, the second night of the cruise flexi was abolished, you could understand why, dinner top slow and the que of people waiting to enter the restaurant was huge. When I questioned why flexi was abolished, they said it simply didn't work.

Thanks that was what I heard, was wondering if the situation had changed and they had re introdiced it. Both msc customer services and the agency I have booked through deny anything has changed.

  7. I am due to travel on Mervigila in September, I have booked on the cabin package that enables you to have flexible dining. I have read lots of comments on here about flexi dining being suspended, so am I hate set dining times I thought I would check to see this issue would be rectified for when I travel. They checked and according to customer services there are no issues and flexi dining is being offered still ? I have booked through a travel agent so contact them to see if they had any information on flexi dining and once again they stated all was well and they were still offering that cabin type that included .

So could someone who is currently on the ship of due to go on in the next few weeks please check and report back on this board if flexi dining is currently offered.

    Thanks

Hi can I ask what time early sitting is on mervigrilia? I've also been put on flexI late sitting and it's a hit late for me. Also what did they say about the flexibile aspect of the package.

    Thank you
