  1. Hi Vitalsign, just checked Easter school holidays 2020, they start about 2nd April.  We'll be flying out 1st April for a week on Celebration, so could be best to keep the cabin we selected on deck 3 (464)... don't really mind as the reason we chose the cruise is the itinery. Thanks for your help.

  2. Hi everyone

Just wondering whether any other couples out there have ever selected a Celebration deluxe cabin on deck 6 (these cabins can take 3 passengers) only to be switched due to the cabin being needed for a party of 3, and if so at what point were you notified by Marella/Thomson, and what other cabin(s) were you offered.

Booked early for Ancient Affair April 2020, really would like a cabin on deck 6 promenade as we've had one before but I'm aware we could be switched so I selected a 2 bed O/S cabin on deck 3, near centre of ship.

Trying to decide whether to take a chance and switch to deck 6 anyway, or stick with what we have, which is one of only a few on deck 3 with a fixed double bed (prefer not to have L configueration)

Thanks and apologies if this has been asked before.

  3. Thanks for your replies.I have tried looking at ny extras but the only thing I can view is my boarding passes, evertyhing else is greyed out.I looked at seatguru but it doesnt seem to recognise the flight number and on the generic seat plan it lists them as standard seats. Thomson website really is the pits. Have emailed customer service for confirmation.

I wasn't able to view it on Thomson website, so I followed the link in the email sent from the reservation team saying I could now select our seats, I received the email middle of January although in fact was able to select them in middle of December which I did.

  4. It's home for xmas for us as usual, with daughter, son and 3 grandchildren and other relatives. Also....(and I know this is silly) :o.... can't bear to put the dogs in kennels in the freezing winter months, they're too used to hogging the fire/radiators in the cold weather.

  5. We had a cabin next door 6060 deck 6... this area is by the Island Restaurant (very nice).... The Pub:D and entertainment is one deck above, and stairs/lifts nearby. Sometimes we used the lifts, other times the stairs for the higher decks. We had a brilliant time on this ship... so much fun, lovely food, lovely staff, and great days out.

  6. Hi, just thinking the middle of the ship is a good choice if you suffer from motion sickness like me as it's more stable, but that's just me of course. When we sailed on IE last year we had a cabin (only a standard one) in the middle of deck 6, hardly any movement, and more quiet than near the front :)

  7. Hi,

Have sailed on IE once, last year, and Dream once, last March.

The Dream has a formal captains night once a week on the sea day, IE does not, which suits us as we don't bother with this anyway, but it may be something which you would want to do, if so then Dream.

We too preferred the meals and entertainment on IE. Would recommend a cabin in or near the middle of both ships. Have a lovely cruise whichever one you choose :)

  8. Hi

We had a standard outside cabin recently (6050).... we found it to be a good size for two people, quiet, and next to the stairs and lifts too but we never heard any noise around this area.

We did notice a slight sound when the waves hit the front of the ship for a short while one evening, when the sea got a bit rough, together with a little bit of movement which didn't last long either, but if that would worry you then maybe a cabin in the middle of the ship would be best, these are the larger plus ones.

Don't know if I can help much with the restaurants as we prefer self service, we used the Sirens restaurant for breakfast and lunch, (our favourite) then the Lido restaurant in the evenings. Tried the MDR only once just for a change. Hope this helps.

  10. Thanks everyone, I'm happy this brings back some memories for you and would like to think anyone going to the Caribbean for the first time soon may find it nice to read too....and kruzseeka I remembered your words before I went away, about the genuine warmth and friendliness of the people here and couldn't agree more, it really was a pleasure to meet them all.

Posted the review just after 2 am which was like 9 pm to me... still running on Caribbean time...will be alright soon :D
