  1. Excellent info - thanks for posting it all.

I have a question - for Barbados Im planning on doing a cheap, relaxing day.

Is it possible to go to both the Mt Gay & Malibu visitor centers in one day and relax on Malibu beach?

I read they both were near the cruise terminal, but I wasnt sure if one could get through both of them.

Also, how much is a bottle of Mt. Gay XO (extra old) on the island?

    Thanks.

  2. Just finished the Victory Cruise out of San Juan and thought I would post on the liquer thing in San Juan.

As others have said there is a duty free shop at the top of the stairs/escalator in the terminal. They have excellent prices and you can get some great deals. The Bailey's irish cream cost $17.00 its 29.95 in FLorida, 1 liter bottles of Bacardi Flavored Rums for $11.00, I pay 14.99 for 750ML in the states, Parrot Bay for 12.95 etc.

Bring a large empty carry on bag so you can buy a bunch of bottles. The staff doing the embarkation and manning the xray are not Carnival staff and they could care less how much you take on board as long as it is not obvious. In fact if you buy $100.00 or more, the shop will give you a very nice rolling bag that they put the bottles in for you. We saved a bunch of money this cruise because we made our own drinks with the stuff we brought on board in San Juan.

Nice - thanks for mentioning the rolling bag.

Its a group of us and I think we're going to easily reach that mark.

I'll check carnival again, but what is the limit of carry on bags per person? For some reason Im thinking two, but I just want to be sure.

    Thanks.

  3. I just noticed that the Victory now has switched St Kitts to Friday and now going to St Maarten on Saturday and has comepletely dropped Antigua from the schedule as of the first of the year (2010). Does this happen much or is it the concerns from the people that got in trouble there a few weeks ago.?

Hmm, I wonder if thats the case, or if it was planned.

Im going on the Victory on 11/29/09, and the only thing we are doing in Antigua is going to Sandals and Dickenson beach.

Not that I would allow that one incident to skewer my view of a destination, but I think I would have preferred St. Maarten. I heard it has the cheapest liquor in Caribbean. :D
