  1. In my opinion, Galveston. You have a lot more options with different sizes of ships and itineraries. We have sailed both Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Love them both. We personally love the LOS. Both cruise lines will have a lot to offer your kids. Our son grew up cruising and loved both cruise lines (whose is now 27).  I would research the ships and see what each has to offer, but they all basically have the same thing. Different classes of ships may have a few different things to do or activities. I promise you will definitely be addicted after the first cruise. Enjoy planning! 😁

  2. We have stayed on the 3rd deck in 3549 and LOVED it! It was close to everything with no noise at all. We were by the elevators, stairs (which went straight to the casino and promenade) and the theatre. We would have booked it for our next cruise in March but we wanted to try out the interior promenade cabins this time.

  3. You are going to have a blast....enjoy your week! I see you will stop at Costa Maya instead of Belize. CM is actually one of our favorite stops. It is very undeveloped out side of the pier...we like to take a taxi into town and sit at one of the beaches for the day...great local food and service for the cheap too! Very rustic but fun if you lean into it a little! Many people we know do not like Costa Maya, they want sparkly and new, you will not find this in town.

Thank you, fortunately we have been to this port before. Looking forward to stopping here again. We have had the opportunity to sail on the LOS sister ship FOS several years ago and are really excited. We were planning on getting to the cruise port a little later, but since you said it was quick embarkation, once you get in the terminal, I think we will head out earlier. Ready to start our vacation. :D;p:D:D:D

  4. Definitely agree with previous post, while at Cozumel a snorkeling excursion is a must. Cozumel is one of the best diving/snorkeling sites in the world. We actually scuba dove and snorkeled at many caribbean islands over the years and I believe Cozumel is one of the best places to dive or snorkel. There are many reputable companies in Cozumel to snorkel or dive with. The best snorkeling will be from a boat. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

  5. Congratulations! There are so many ways you can propose. A cruise ship is a perfect place to pop the question. In March my son proposed to his fiance' (his girlfriend for 6 1/2 years). Here is a link to his proposal.

Even though it was public, it was extremely romantic. We were blessed because her parents, several of our family members, and his dad and I where onboard and we were able to be apart of their proposal. She absolutely had no idea. Carnival Breeze and the CD Lee Mason did a fantastic job. My son met with the CD once we were onboard and they quickly planned the whole thing. As you can see it happened on a formal night so lots and lots of pictures were taken. The video were portions of Carnival's, my husband's and my nephew's put together. Good luck and again congratulations.

  6. Absolutely loving this thread! :D Thank goodness my husband and I are not the only lushes on the ship ;p. Making note of these ideas and the different drinks you guys like (yes, we have our priorities :')). We did the cheers package on the last cruise and absolutely loved it. We really like experimenting and trying different drinks and not worrying about the bill. We worked our cheers package about like everyone else...never maxed out, but came darn close.:o Nice to know they have Sangria...this is one of our favorite drinks. One of my favorite places is the Blue Iguana bar on the Lido...love tequila and margaritas (my go to pool drink). We usually get a glass of wine from the atrium bar before going to dinner and then when we sat down at dinner we would order another glass of wine because the bar service is a little slow in the MDR, so by the time we finished the first glass the other glass of wine would be delivered. Since we are only about 21 days from sailing, I guess we need to start conditioning our livers now, but heck we are trying to loose those last few unwanted pounds before we go, just so we can gain them back.

  7. This is what I copied and pasted from Carnival's website.

    The Passport Card

The passport card cannot be used to travel by air outside the United States.

U.S. citizens may present a limited-use, wallet-size passport card. The passport card will only be valid for land and sea travel between the United States and Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean region and Bermuda.

My husband and I used passport cards when we sailed in December, with no problems. We plan on using them again in March. I hope this helps.
