We had friends on the Apex a week ago,  as far as I recall there was only one port where they had to do the cruise line tour, I think it was Mykonos.   They did their own thing in .Santorini and Rhodes.

Not sure they went to Chania though,  perhaps ask the question on the Celebrity board.

I have no one knows lol we are the only cruise going there as far as I know.

it’s were I spent my childhood and were we now (usually) stay for xmas and new year. It’s our home away from home (Germany) - for over 40 years now. Sadly coming to an end with all the changes there 😢

Me too! I have been going there since I was a kid. Times have certainly changed and not for the better. It's a shame because rarely do I find a more beautiful beach anywhere in the world

I am probably one of the few but I was very underwhelmed by Eden.
It’s a regular 3 course dinner ( the cheese gnocchi was inedible because it was sooo cheesy and I love cheese) and the pastry on the beef Wellington was soggy as if it had been heated in a microwave.

No quirkiness or fun about it.   just waiters continually asking if everything is ok… Give me Wonderland on RCI any day!!

    JMHO.

I don't care for Eden either. Give me Tuscan Grill any day.

  4. We did DLP prior to our Avalon cruise. I loved it. I had been on opening day and loved seeing all the changes since then. I think the themeing is so much better there than in the US parks. It was fall and the weather was beautiful along with amazing foliage in the park. It was definitely worth it for us.

  5. I appreciate any help. Like I said, I opted for EB day pass because it's easy and will have parents in tow. I really wanted COCO.

Day 2 hubby and myself will just rent some mopeds and tool around. I like beaches but I live on a beautiful one, so it's not a huge deal to find the perfect one, I just needed convenience and lower crowds with them.

  6. I never have seen any there but from time to time someone reports here chairs being rented. I think the reason it is less crowded is that there are no facilities. There are some basic bathrooms to dump and pee in but there are no changing rooms, showers and the like. The reason I asked about chair rentals were seen is not because I am advocating them. It is for information. Same for the food. To find out the current situation. Some people seem to expect that things don't change. That what they found five years ago will be the same today. So they post there are chairs for rent. But that may or may not be the case. Maybe someone does it on their weekend or days off. Which would account for some reporting chairs for rent that others have never found to be the case.

Often people ask for a beach with facilities that is not crowded. That is an oxymoron. Facilities draw crowds.

Well, sorry for the "oxymoron" comment. I was just asking. I do not know Bermuda well. It's not true here in FL. We have lots of beaches with facilities that aren't crowed. In fact I have been to many islands where some beaches are more crowded than others and all have facilities. Usually due to location or just not being as well known.

  7. I sucked it up and bought the pass at Elbow Beach Resort, I don't want to stress on vacation and we will have my parents with us too. I hate that it's a rain or shine pass.

    Thanks for all the info.

  8. Thank you. Coco is sold out. I think the other is on Elbow Beach.

Have you ever been to Warwick long bay beach? I wonder what a cab to go there would be?

  9. A tip - if you are a late night snacker, grab some cookies from the snack station in the afternoon and take them to your room....there isn't anything available after dinner is completed.

Sounds exactly like the Avalon cruise we took. I have to remember to do that or buy some snacks in port lol I'm a night owl.

  10. Excursions vary, but, yes, they are more likely to be in the morning, assuming the boat is docked. Sometimes there is another one in the afternoon. There was an optional evening concert excursion in Vienna, unless I'm getting things mixed up.

Tips: Linz is a great place to visit. If you aren't interested in Sound of Music stuff, I'd skip that excursion and just stay in Linz. If you are interested in military history, hop the Vienna subway to their military museum. When we were there, they had a special exhibit featuring Archduke Ferdinand's car, but I don't know if that's still going on.

If you plan to visit the ruins of the castle in Durnstein (where Richard Lionheart was imprisoned), don't dawdle in the town. It's a long climb to the top of the hill.
