Think online check-in is 48 hours before departure
-
Precisely the reason we are leaving cruising behind until all the testing/vaccination is done and fin ished. Its just too much hassle.
-
Such a great pity, think we had the best days of cruising thankfully

It will be a pity if dress code ' falls ' any further. Perhaps have dress code rules for MDR and any form of dress in buffet, as with other cruise lines. Having said that things will certainly have to get back to how they were, pre Covid, before we ever cruise again. Cannot be fussed testing each day etc

Heads should roll, total lack of forward planning. Every other industry have made plans for when things are relaxed. The Local Authorities who are major shareholders in the Airport should be asking for a maagement shake up at the very least, Pointless in the Airport saying sorry, just not good enough.

So sorry to see standards dropping, we just think its nice to dress in Tux etc, it is after all only one night per week. We noticed, on our last cruise, the behaviour of some passengers which was just not acceptable. TUI just happy to fill the ship unfortunately

Not been on the site for some time, no plans to cruise in the near future. But reading recent posts it does surprise me that elderly people have chosen to cruise in these very trying times. You would certainly not get us anywhere near a cruise ship with close contact and with large numbers of people. We do miss cruising but are just being sensible and looking forward to an end to Covid and restrictions.
Happy New Year to all

Of course Jim, but nothing to date on Ambassador Forum - small ships and a lot of Marella posters like the smaller ships
-
I am surprised no one has mentioned the new cruise line - replacing Cruise&Maritime. Some very interesting offers, only downside for us is departures from Tilbury, London.
But first new British cruise line for many years
Interesting !

If you can get to TUI shop they will be able to help, failing that just go into any travel agent who will also be able to help

No bigger than Discovery/Explorer for us - at our age we certainly don't want more childrens facilities
-
We certainly don't want super sized ships - lets just keep them smaller - despite the age

Deck 9 is a good choice - quiet - no noise from above We have booked Deck 9 for 2022
-
We changed to June 2022 a few weeks ago - checked a few days ago and the cost had increased by £440. Don't know whats going on. It will probably go cheaper at a later date. Local airports are very important, we are lucky living close to Manchester Airport, from which you can a flight to most countries.
-
We also prefer the smaller ship - Marella suits us fine - Roll on June 2022
-
I agree with you Jim, cruising round Britain, even without the restrictions, holds no attraction to us.
Happy to wait until our cruise June 2022 hopefully in full SUNSHINE
-
Not sure about round Britain in October - think you may need a good brolly and seasick pills, at least there should be no fight for a sunbed.
-
After listening to lunchtime news I don't think anybody will be going anywhere this summer.
Stay safe all you lovely people, but keep the chat going please
-
Thanks BJ - just looked it up - too many restrictions for our liking at the present time - wearing a mask on ship, no way I'm afraid rather stop at home. If they are going to space sunbeds will there be enough to go round. Hopefully by 2022 there will be no restrictions.
Thanks again BJ

Despite having had vaccine not sure we want to cruise this year - there are bound to be restriction in place on board ship for some time to come, nobody is likely to tell us what they may be. Better to wait, we are booked on Explorer2 for June 2022 - at least something to look forward to.
-
Think we are happy to wait until 2022, when we can cruise in the sunshine.
-
We have never had any problems with TUI/Marella, ok at the height of the early days of the pandemic we had to wait quite a while to be dealt with, but generally everything OK

Hope this helps

Great news Victor - we have booked 2022

No thats not the case - we had moved it once, the one we have just done with be the second change, they want your business, and more so in the present climate.
Falling Standards
in Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson)
Posted
Talked to couple in our hotel who had done cruise/stay. They told us how much standards had slipped on Marella, relaxed dress code in MDR not good, food just awful, meat so tough they had to ask for sharper knife, which still did not do the trick, their advice was leave Marella alone and they were seasoned cruisers, perhaps someone can comment on this
