    Thank you. Incredibly sad…

We sailed with him for 37 days on a repositioning cruise on the NCL Pearl 10 years ago, and got to know him very well.
Sincerest condolences to you and his family.

Every time I hear the song Piano Man, he is the person that I picture in my mind… RIP Jim Badger 💔

I’m wondering where he is too…

we met him on the NCL Pearl 10yrs ago. Fabulous entertainer!

Jimmy Badger passed away on April 12th, 2024 after succumbing to injuries sustained in a traffic related accident (automobile / bike) in Naples, Florida. He was my longtime friend and classmate from high school. I'm sorry to be the bearer of this sad news.

  3. We've been seated once or twice with others even though we choose 2 top tables to avoid small talk chit-chat. If Scott or I want to talk with other cruisers it's usually at pool-side or the bar. That said, when we have dined with others it has always been fun. I set the record straight (or gay) from the get-go. Once that's out of the way we proceed as fellow diners. Just be yourself and if others don't like it, well there are lots of tables they can move to. ;)

  4. Hallo you two, Mario from Switzerland here! I am on the cruise as well with two friends - so you are not alone! :-) And as I know celebrity there will be more friends of Dorothy on board and the usual meeting point will be the Martin Bar, so get a drink package! LOL

If I don't check in here again before the cruise we will see us there I guess!?

Cheers and happy new year from Switzerland

I just watched the Celebrity Silhouette sail out of Port Everglades for the last time without us on board. Our turn come Sunday!!! :D:D

  5. We booked this cruise a couple of weeks ago since we were planning a trip to NYC to visit friends and relatives and never miss a chance to cruise if we are near an ocean. We'll be arriving in NYC on the 20th and already don't have enough time to see all our friends so it will be busy. We lived in Manhattan for forty years before retiring.

We really liked the Regal when we cruised on her in January and look forward to the return visit. The small balconies really don't bother us and itineraries with lots of sea days are always our preference.

    Jay and Al in Tucson

Getting closer ... The small balcony's don't bother me at all since I'm not running laps out there! I'm 58 and Scott's 50 ... how 'bout you two?

  6.

We (Tony and Scott) booked this cruise after we canceled an Azmara Cruise due to the geographical tensions, then we had booked the Coral Princess for the Panama Canal transit from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles but due to the fact that Princess changed the date of that ship's high density re-fit from May 2016 to March 2016, that too was canceled. Since we were booked in April on that one as well, the ship will have changed from its original configuration and the new configuration looks horrible ... cabins added everywhere at the expense of any and almost all public spaces. I sail mostly to experience the ships so that became a "no go" very quickly after I learned of the accelerated refit.

This one should stick. We are booked Aqua Class (A2) on the penthouse deck and the price still came in less than the Panama Canal booking by a good $2K.

I'm looking forward to the 8 days at sea right out of the gate. A great amount of time to explore the ship and relax to the max.

See you all in less than a years time! :D

    .

  7. Thanks!

So being the "straightest gay guy" does that make you a stealth gay man....one that isn't detected by gaydar? :)

Yes actually, that has been the story of my life. Gay men were pleasantly surprised and straight folks always shocked when they realized it!

    I've had a great life!

  8. Hi everyone. My wife and I went on our honeymoon cruise this past January and wanted to ask a question.

I saw in the Princess Patter each day that there was a LGBT get together each day, so obviously the cruise line was making a specific time and place for LGBT people to meet and greet. Conversely, I have a good friend that only goes on LGBT only cruises.

I was wondering if people who go on non-LGBT cruises feel (in general) that there is openess on board to feel comfortable in attending the LGBT meeting or do you feel there may be backlash by being identified as going to an event like this.

Hopefully I've asked my question without sounding like a moron. :)

I am the straightest Gay Guy on earth and I have only been on "regular" cruises. I have had the pleasure of meeting straight people, couples on my cruises and enjoy them even more than my "own kind".

So no, you are not moronic, you are the preferred!

  9. Hey guys, there will be 6 of us, 3 guys and 3 dames. 4 of us are flight attendants too! See you soon!

Hey ... where's your cruise clock for this voyage?!!! We are almost at the stage that if you make it now it will announced "sailed" in hours instead of days!

    See you on board!

    .

  10. Any FOD's going on this ship.

Scott, Tony, Ron and Dan will be aboard!

Ron and Dan together 44 Years, Tony and Scott together 25 years and as of 06 January 2015 legally married (long engagement ... I had to be sure!)

Danny now 70, retired professional competition roller skating coach, Ronnie 65, retired educator, professional roller skater and the child model for the Con Edison late 1950's billboard campaign "The right light for your bright light"(he was adorable then and still is!), Tony 58, retired Pan American World Airways Purser / Flight Attendant, currently employed in Law Enforcement and the Poster "Boy" for the Humane Society of Broward County's "Break the Chain" campaign (educating the public about the cruelties of chaining dogs) and Scott 50, an In Flight Purser for the largest US air carrier for the past 32 years and a Saint for putting up with me for the last 25 years!

  11. Since it would appear that Scott and I would have been the only FOD's on this sailing, we added two friends to our party. Ron and Dan have been my friends since I was a teenager and we owned a house together in Key West back in the late 70's. They have been very good friends to both me and Scott during some very tough times so this is our gift to them.

Neither Ron nor Dan has ever been on a cruise ship so they are very excited about this cruise.

Hoping that we are not the only 4 on board so if you're on it, give a holler!
