  1. Hi All,

We've cruised on FO many times, but it is a while since we were on Boudicca. We've just booked a cruise summer 2018 and the only cabins available with balcony and bath (except suites) were these

terrace balconies which I understand have been added on the wider promenade decks recently.

Has anyone had any experience of these? We realise that privacy is limited on the balcony, but are they noisy first thing in the morning? Any other things to bear in mind?

    Any comments gratefully received!

  2. Fred Olsen's own tours. Luckily I did book something as most are already sold out. All to do with Mardi Gras over the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. When they said there were limited availability, they obviously meant it! Other tours for this cruise aren't out yet and these had to be booked direct by email to their shore tour office.

  3. Hi all of you who are on the Central America and Mardi Gras Balmoral cruise on 4th Feb.

I've just had an email about New Orleans tours for Mardi Gras. I eventually managed to access them online.

Does anyone have any tips about whether these are good to book and which are preferable. All information and advice gratefully received!

  4. Hi, yes we're on it too - can't wait. We booked onboard a Canaries cruise last January, so over a year before sailing. Even that early, all balcony cabins were already booked. We did keep an eye out for cancellations and managed to get one about a month ago.

Looking at their website, I think there are about 10 outside cabins available (I'm not sure about inside), and one or two suites - still no balconies. So, it does look pretty full.

It won't seem far off once Christmas and New Year are finished. It'll be strange digging out all those summer clothes, although a few destinations might need a jumper or two. Just hoping for a relatively smooth February Atlantic crossing!

BTW, these is a post from a newbie to FO (but regular cruiser) just down from the post - they're also on this cruise. Roll on 4 February!

  5. Thanks, both of you. I had hoped for a bit more storage space as often the wardrobes have shelving instead of hanging space. They could often fit in more drawer space in the cabin too. I know the cabins vary a bit - we've got fixed single beds so the layout might be a bit different. As I said, I always take too much stuff. Shall have to pray (haha) for an upgrade!

  6. Having been long-time FO cruisers, we've gone a bit mad on our next cruise and booked a Superior Suite as it was the only way of getting a balcony and bath. What I want to know is: is there much more hanging/storage space than in the normal cabins? It's a fairly long cruise and I always take too much. I'm just hoping there's extra hanging space. Also, if anyone has any photos, I'd love to see them. Thanks.
