  1. We just got off the Beyond yesterday and recently sailed on the Nieuw Statendam. There was nothing specific to say negatively about Celebrity.  We sailed Aqua class. enjoyed the shows and meals and definitely got our money's worth from the premium beverage package but we probably won't sail Celebrity again. The ship is noisy. The entertainment was interesting, but we liked the music on Hal more. We also adore club orange and all of its perks. We can't wait for our upcoming cruise on the Rotterdam. If I had to say why I think Celebrity isn't a good fit for us anymore it would be that it's trying to accommodate too many audiences. Young and hip with the gold asteroid walkways and whatnot. Hal knows its audience and it's us. We still want to be fed well and entertained. But a little more sedate is nice too. Have fun on your cruise!

  2. Hi Barb~

    Appreciate your response.

I watched a video of the room and this suite is a strange configuration. The balcony is narrow and the bedroom is very large. I know I could fit the rollaway in there. It's just that none of us want that. I am having a hard time finding a picture of the sofa bed open. Does it open like a traditional sofa bed or simply become a twin bed aka Pullman style? That will help me determine how to plan our arrangements. In any case- we will have fun!

  3. Hi All~

I have read through about 60 pages on this forum looking for an answer to this and can't find it.

We have booked an S5 suite on the Royal for our family of 4.

trying to determine the bed set up. Do both kids sleep on the sofa bed? The bedroom is massive so I'm not sure if they could or would put a rollaway in there. Has anyone else had this situation?

    Thanks in advance!

  4. I had 2 future cruises booked. Only one showed up in the list of eligible cruises. When I called to have that one rebooked to reflect the prepaid gratuities and room credit, the agent advised me my other sailing was eligible also. Between the 2 cruises, a savings of almost $1000. :D

  5. We are gold with Disney and have taken only one celebrity cruise with the kids and that was 10 years ago. At the time I didn't have a favorable view of the children's program on celebrity. It paled against Disney. Now my kids are both over 18 and while we will always love DCL and have another cruise booked at Easter we are ready to try new cruise lines again. We like the diversity of the itineraries and as you mentioned the cost. We have cruises in suites several times on Disney and the costs are astronomical. No regrets but it would be nice to see the dollar stretch. Our upcoming celebrity cruise is in a sky suite and I like the idea of the separate restaurant. The dining rooms on Disney are unique and fun but also noisy and crowded and quite frankly not always great food. Palo is outstanding but not for every night. I will definitely write a comparison when we return Good luck.

  6. That's good news. We have 3 cruises on the books all in suites based on the initial advertising of the product. Prior to this we were very loyal Disney suite people but we're branching away from that. I am truly hopeful for a suite experience. We are not loyal to Celebrity, but we'd like to be.

  7. We do enjoy a concierge lounge (most recently on Disney Fantasy), but Michael's doesn't seem to be suited well for that purpose. Location is the drawback. We like to stop into the lounge on the way back to the room or pop in for a morning coffee but our suite for our upcoming Infinity cruise is deck 6 aft and Michaels is deck 4 forward. Honestly, I can't see us using it often.
