  1. Hi

Also watching - ours is Dec 6th on Celebrity ... I am worried about leaving Santiago for the port with any blockage of Roads ... not much left in Hotels in San Antonio it would seem - have a 2nd Hotel at the airport as a backup.

With the APEC conference cancelled ( no China-US Trade deal signed as anticipated ) and the large COP Environmental conference for the first part in Dec ... lots of hotels rooms opening up ...? but told to stay away from main streets and large parks.

Here is a link that has been posting live shots of Santiago for a week now ... this one of for today Nov 2 - but you can click on their other video's showing larger groups forming in afternoon thru the night

The Twitter posts for #Santiago have been amazing albeit scary.

  4. Hi

bump to thread ...the reason I would like to know --is in June 2017 the America's cup is in Bermuda .... and should you be on the non-dock side ... you can sit on your balcony and watch some of the race. But then -- go up top and drink withe crowd ... :-)

I see that Celebrity is changing their schedule so they are there on the weekend ... for us the June 4th sailing may be good enough

Been once here - and apart from watching America's Cup --both side very great views ...

    Regards

  5. That is ship time. When you dock at 8 Am it will be 7 am their. I have a tour coming up and he replied with the same comment to me. I am starting at 9 am which will be 8 am their time.

Can I have a confirmation - ship time doesn't change to match local time ? That has to throw a curve at some ?

What does seem to be a good start time - all other things equal ....

Do most drivers go clockwise or counterclockwise on the trip of the island (this is written by the guy who purposely went opposite the tour buses on the 'ring of Kerry' in Ireland - but that is another thread.

    Thanks

    Greg

ps - thread getting better big ... wondering just how many drivers have changed their name to Gerry ... from page 30-something we got the URL for .... http://www.toursplaza.com/categorias/info/hiring_a_driver ( yep - they have a Gerry ) but our driver is Armando - will post a note after the cruise.

  6. Some things didn't come up -

-do patches really work - saw a person on 1st Hawaii with patches and bracelet -asked if it was her 1st cruise - she said no - 12th - loves cruising - just gets sea sick

-have to think a balcony helps most people - that issue of 'seeing' the roll that your inner ear picks up. Did a lot of sail boat racing when younger - and anyone new - we would always tell to look at the Horizon ( and rarely have them go below decks )

    - wonderful time on 2nd cruise trying to get coffee to the 'boss' - what a great ride on the front - sorry for those coffee stains in the hallways

-final cruise was Royal Clipper - the day afterwards we learned about the bed boards we could have turned up to help keep us in bed - from Barbados to the St Lucia - that was a night to remember. No line up at breakfast on day 2, however.

Think 'Positive' if you can. Or some how make a game of it with your spouse.
