Hi, I'm booked on the Pearl, with cabins 4565 and 4567. On the deck plan for this ship, these cabins appear in the middle of the ship and not connected to any hallways. It has to be a mistake on the deck plan. Does anyone know how those cabins are accessed?

Hi! I have friends on the Meraviglia which departed Miami yesterday (11/17) and was supposed to be in Nassau tomorrow (11/19) and Ocean Cay on Wednesday (11/20) before returning to Miami on 11/21. Now they tell me that they've found out from other passengers that they are heading to Cozumel instead. Does anyone know exactly what the new itinerary is? Are they spending Tuesday and Wednesday in Cozumel? Still heading to Ocean Cay on Wednesday? Or are they losing a port day altogether?

Hi! Question: is it safe to show up at the Comfort Suites without a reservation to "get a room" that we won't step foot into, just to get the Atlantis passes? I didn't want to risk making reservations in case it rains or there's some other change of plans, and since we won't be using the room anyway, it shouldn't matter even if the place is sold out. Are reservations required? Thanks!

I read about the new, faster, Xcelerate Internet access on Summit, which costs $140 for the week and allows for high-bandwidth uses such as video chat or video streaming, on a single device. Is there also a low-bandwidth option, that one could use on more than one device if all you need is email and some web browsing, or is Xcelerate the only option, at $140 per device?

I was looking at the pre-refurb deck plans, and they don't show any staterooms on deck 11. Were these added during the drydock "Solsticizing" in 2012? Any chance these cabins have any newer/better features than the original cabins from 2001?

Hi! There are a handful of inside staterooms (just 6) on deck 11 aft, alongside the AquaClass cabins. Has anyone stayed in those? Would you say they are a better option than inside staterooms in other decks? Any pros or cons? They are directly below the basketball court, do daytime noise may be an issue. Anything else?

I know of one place just 15 - 20 minutes south of the dock with a gorgeous beach and clear, beautiful water and a resort for food and drink but the name escapes me. We would see a few other couples, and a boatload of divers stopped in for lunch but the day was very nice and quiet on a medium ship day. There was a small "resort" there with an open-air bar/grill and a runner took food and drink orders on the beach and there was a lady giving massages. Sorry can't remember the name but any driver should be able to help you get to a less-trampled beach without driving too far.

When are you in Cozumel? What ship? What pier? How mobile is your mom?

 

You'll not find true white sandy beaches along Coz's West Side. At times, depending on the weather, the water can be murky.

I guess I should have just said "sandy beach", it doesn't matter if it's not white sand, I just want a nice, quiet beach day. We'll be there towards the end of July, on the Oasis. I don't know where it docks, probably at the largest port due to its size. My mom is fine in terms of mobility.

I'm taking my 74-y.o. mom on her first Caribbean cruise (RCCL Oasis) and need a recommendation for our day in Cozumel. I'm looking for a quiet, beautiful beach, with white sand and clear water. I read about Nachi, and it looks good, except that the only option seems to be the all-inclusive one. I don't drink and my mom may have a drink here or there, but not enough to take advantage of an AI setup. Also, AI places tend to feature more loud, drunken behavior that could detract from one's enjoyment of the beach. Based on these preferences, what's my best bet?
