On the ship now in Fakarava. Internet is slow but better close to the internet room on deck 5.

How is the Snorkel/Diving in Fakarava now? Be there in Sept....

We were in 767 0n 10-sep cooks and did feel both vibration and deck noise from above during the trip. Sort of funny the picture on the wall would swing with the ship movement then rest back against the wall...

One more shot in the dark, but if anyone is on this sailing and would like to do puresnorkeling in the afternoon, we need two more people to split the cost of 49000 XPF (115USD) four ways.

this would then be a private tour from puresnorkeling. This is only a $3 more than the group tour done each AM with up to 8 people.

Shot in the dark, but if anyone is on this sailing and would like to go on this tour, we need two jet ski's rented. Currently we are the only people to book at this time.

The reviews for huahine-nautique look to be very good.

I have to say that the band was not a big part of our cruise experience. They played all the time, but for me, they were usually background music, or pre- or post- entertainment to other activities. We danced to them a few times. They sounded good, but they definitely did not do rock. It was mostly pop or easy listening type music.

 

They sang Stevie Wonder's "I just called to say I love you" every single time we saw them play. We even joked about how often that came up in their playlist!

 

We did once make a song request and they played it, and did a good job. We asked for "You were always on my mind."

Thanks for the update on the band, we are on the 10-sep Cooks trip. What is it going to take for the PG to find a Siglo replacement?

Thanks for the review, how is the band on the ship? It looks like they are from the Ukraine, no Siglo from what I am told. Could they play rock and not have the typical eastern european sound that really takes away from the music.

we will probably do very little during that time, other than paddle about off shore, drive around a bit, eat, drink and sit there looking at the water.

we like listening to live bands and always enjoy the piano bars on the cruise ships,

Lets hope the PG gets a good band, from what I hear Santa Rosa is done with the PG very soon. If only Siglo could come back, but I think the problem with the bands and the PG is they want the band to do other duties other than just play and any band worth while it wears on them and they move on....

Most likely the band will be Santa Rosa. Not Siglo but acceptable.

 

We would love to have you on the repeaters next year. It's the Cooks with two days in Motu Mahana.

They do. Make sure your TA advises PG of these cruises...year and month.

 

Naturally they would have to be on the PG and not on the other Regent ships.

Yep the PG, this Sept (cooks) will be trip number 5 on the PG room 767 looking forward to aft room this time. It's been a few years since last trip. Seems like things are status quo since that time with the PG? Anything new or different to look forward too?

I understand that Siglo is no longer I sure hope the have a band that can rock that boat the same way, FREEBIRD! On one of the past trips they had a Russian cover band it was total crap.

Everyone knows that PG has a high percentage of repeating guests.

 

Currently repeaters who have more than 4 cruises get

A couple of hours of Internet

4 items of dry cleaning. This is sometimes given per person and sometimes per cabin so there is an inconsistency there.

 

Is there anything else? Cannot recall.

 

In another post I mentioned free deviation charges. I think this would be nice.

 

Do Raddison and Regent trips on the PG count too?

In 2004 we took a once in a lifetime trip on the PG......9 trips later we are still looking forward eagerly to the next one.

Ditto for that here too, next year will be trip number 5, back to the cooks...

Not so much age, we have been on four different trips on the PG all different routes and different times of the year. The key take away to me is NO SCOOTERS in the hallway on deck 7 both sides!

We were on Deck 7 a year ago, never smelled anything bad, but as I said that was a year ago.

No issues in August of 2013, the last time we were on the PG...Maybe a carpet issue in your room

Just got off the ship. Invitation Quartet was fine - quirky Ukranian accented vocals aside -but they left with us. New band starts today.

Sorry but if you have not seen Siglo you do not understand the difference, BTW

Invitation Quartet was not fine, but per the bar guys and wait staff Santa Rosa is good.

The new band is Santa Rosa. They are pretty good.

We don't dance but the music seemed danceable.

You better make sure they "Santa Rosa" are not on a break, we were on the 11 day cook island trip in August and the replacement band was..., I want to be kind but really they not even on par with a good garage band. Seems they (mgmt) really did not give this much effort when they booked this band to play during the break for Santa Rosa....

Siglo is still one of the best if not the best band on any ship period.
