  1. About select dining: I knew it was a silly question, but if you go to make your nightly dinner reservations on Celebrity's site, you can see a menu and it's the same each night. We normally do the main dining and have never done Select, so I was terrified it was different, lol. I don't know why they don't indicate it's a "Sample" menu, which would be infinitely clearer. The way they have it set up, it appears it's the same menu every night.

  2. I have a question. I'm getting on the ship March 3, and I'm trying to schedule our dining. On the website, it appears that the same food is served every night for Celebrity Select dining. I've never done Select before, just Main Dining. Are the Main Dining menus available for Select seating? I can't imagine that they wouldn't be, but I don't understand why a menu is visible that isn't specifically labelled "sample" menu.

  3. Also, depending on what port you return to, you may pay very high import taxes. We normally cruise out of Florida, but our last cruise was out of Galveston. We were shocked to discover that we paid $3.75 per liter of alcohol. So, know your prices well, the savings may not be that great. Of course, you only pay import taxes on the alcohol you declare. Make of that statement what you will. ;)

  4. So Nov 6-Celebrity Infinity, will be my 1st cruise in 6 years. I decided to do some research on the excursions. I want to rent the beach bungalows on CocoCay island, but was very confused about the pricing, from other post I saw that only 1 person has to rent it (up to 6 ). 195.00 total. Does this include lunch for every person involved ?

Thanks for the info about the Celebrity drink package, very happy that alcohol will be taken care of.

Besides the swimming and eating/drinking, what other activities are available on CocoCay Island.

Yes, lunch is included for everyone in your party.

Private islands are owned by the cruise companies, so any activities are booked through them. If you go into your reservation on Celebrity's website you'll see any paid activities that are available. They have a floating water park with inflatables to climb and jump from, you can parasail, maybe take a boat ride, but if you're not looking ot spend extra, it's mostly just a low key beach day. The bungalows give you a bit more privacy and less crowds, which is why we book them. If you want one, the sooner you book the better, as they are very limited and they do sell out.

  5. Which grocery store did you find?

We did the Jamaican Culinary Tour right in Falmouth and our guide took me and another woman after the tour privately. He was kind enough to walk us through and show us things he liked himself. So, I can't say really, but I would assume any grocery would do.

  6. We visited a grocery store last time and it was awesome. Memorable purchases that I'll be buying again: Sugar!!! It's beautiful and crunchy on top of muffins and cookies, like sugar in the raw but a little finer and I felt like I was visiting Jamaica again every time I used it. Nuggle candy bars. Delicious and not available anywhere else in the US except specialty stores in NYC, which are not at all convenient for a North Carolina resident. Ginger Beer, jerk seasoning, ginger wine. Most of this stuff is available in the port for about 5 times the cost.

  7. Hi there, last time we were in Falmouth we did a tour with Jamaican Culinary Tours. It was amazing! I'm wondering if it will be exactly the same though if we repeat it though (which wouldn't be all bad...) Has anyone done this tour more than once? What was your experience like?

I also noticed there might be another company doing a similar tour. Any comparison between them?

    Thanks!

  8. Subject says it all. I'm thinking Playa Mia, but having never traveled during spring break, I have no idea how crowded it will be. The kids would be content with just a beach, but my dear friend and I rarely see each other and would love a loooong day drinking pina coladas beach side. What will keep the kids happiest the longest, and have smaller crowds?
