Day 7 of 8. This afternoon Captain Erik advised we would make a detour in Turks to off board an ill passenger. We arrived 8 pm local time. Latest update is air transport will be here about 11:30 pm local time for the passenger. We are due back in Port Canaveral Saturday morning. No details provided.

I’m on her now. Be an early riser and you won’t have a problem.

The pre paid arcade games are a POA. Give the parents cash and apply it to the bill.
Royal does not offer an unlimited arcade pass. Depending on the ship, you’ll be in luck if half the machines work.- 1

I will say that at times guests without reservations do get seated quicker. I know because we have given up making reservations. Will be on fixed dining next couple cruises to try it out again.
I always enter the shorter line with MTD. No one really cares. They just want to move the folks through. -

I called and they only offered me the 8pm traditional seating. The customer service person suggested I go in person at 5:30 and wait for a table each day. That actually won't be a problem because it will just be my husband and I except for Thanksgiving day which will be us plus our 3 sons and my mother. I have a feeling we'll be doing Thanksgiving in the buffet 👎
Go to the dining room when you board and ask to switch to early seating. They will find room for your family.

I would call your TA or Royal to make sure all three cabins are linked together and give them this scenario. My concern is the minor child checking in with grandma who doesn’t have the correct documents to “travel” with the child without her parents. If the parties (rooms) aren’t linked, royal only sees a minor child with a non parent in a room.

MTD doesn’t open until 6:45. There will be a long line of folks trying to get in for a table. They will seat everyone until the sections are full. You could be seated for 15-20 mins until you are acknowledged because they still treat you like traditional dining- they want the servers to serve a group of tables at the same time, at the same pace.
We like to eat around 7:30-8pm. We have a standing reservation at 7pm all week because we tend to get our appetizers around 7:30 on past cruises.
Editing to comment that the concept of a real restaurant set up is so foreign to them. Heaven forbid you just want an entree and leave.

Anyone else remember the "pier upgrades"? That's when you could simply see the head person at check-in and ask if any were available? The costs were nominal, if I recall. Sigh.....
Teddie
Yes! We did this on enchantment and upgraded to a GS for $100 total. Those were the days. Now they put up a sign that says no upgrades available 🤣

Our holiday adventure cruise showed nearly all the GS still open when I received our bid up offers this week. The min is $175 pp. I booked two rooms so bid the min on both. We’ll see what happens. I’ve never won a bid so far!

If a 250 lbs+ woman can wear a triangle bikini top and thong bottom, you can fully cover yourself to save your life. I wish I had her self confidence! Point being, people wear all kinds of swim garments. Yours is no different than anyone else’s.

Don’t cancel your plans just for a girl (or guy). Rebook the cruise and enjoy your birthday sans drama.

Uber or a taxi from the hotel is your best bet. I can’t recall if the pub has tv’s, but you should ask guest services if they will be showing the game anywhere on the ship.
Adventure doesn’t have a sports pub with a ton of tvs, but Royal is known to show popular games on the outdoor screen near the pool.
Have a terrific time and get some sleep! Long flight tomorrow 🙂

If your 12 year old is not ready for teen club, just enroll them in the 9-11 group on board. It’s up to the manager, but I never had any trouble.
Editing to add that my kids were paired with 12-14 year olds and the 15-17 were paired together. They seemed to do their activities within the young teen groups.

Check the sailings prior to yours. I’m the app, swipe left and click “select a different cruise”. Pick the ship and then look at sailing occurring now and in august to see if the menu is up.
I always check the sailing or two before mine to check out the menus and activities.

Dining is not available on Vision OTS Dec 22 either. I've sailed several holiday cruises and dining was available by now as well.
Our sailing was supposed to be on Vision but last July they changed the ship to Adventure!

I noticed our Odyssey sailing in March “held” our purchases for each day and then charged us at the end of the sailing. This included room gratuity. I believe it’s called a pre-authorization.
I'm sure each bank is different. I can comment on AMEX though. My AMEX showed the pending charge for everyday until 2 business days after the final charge was made. So at one point I had the final charge and the daily charges “held” until the daily fell off and the final charge posted. My AMEX is a charge card and not a credit card, so I don’t have a pre-set spending limit. I am not affected by the pre-authorizations holding up my credit line. Another reason I use my AMEX for everyday, and everything, spending.

I'm booked on that sailing and there is NO dining available. That said I am also booked on the 12/22 Christmas sailing for the Allure (99% sure I am taking that one ) and specialty dining IS available Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Chops and 150 are $100 and Giovann'is is $96. No dining packages. It's a 4 night sailing
Thanks for confirming it’s just not me! I’m actually not interested booking speciality for Christmas eve or day. I want to book it for my birthday 🥳I ended up changing from MTD to late seating. I don’t have time to check it everyday and knowing my luck, all the 7 pm reservations will be taken by the time I get back in. I have everything else booked. I’ll check around Black Friday for discounts but other than that this cruise is planned and paid for.

Holiday cruises have special dining for specialty restaurants (ie costs more) so reservations for those cruises don't open until closer to.
I have sailed during a holiday before and was always able to book well in advance.

I am assuming you are talking about specialty dining. If so you are way too early for those. They usually open up reservations at about 30-45 day markI’m talking speciality and MDR for my time dining. The entire page is empty.
I have dining packages for cruises more then a year out, so this isn’t true.

Is it me, or does no one have the option to make dining reservations for the Adventure 12/22 sailing?
Do the other ships sailing over Christmas have their dining open yet?
I'm so perplexed. I called customer service and they said dining opens 12-8 months prior to sailing. I commented that I’m 5 months out and they said to just keep checking. It just seems…off.

Stay on the ship if you’re worried and the ship stops there.

Odyssey was a stickler for laundry. I think my room steward was new or something because it became a huge mess.
I didn’t have time to iron before we left, so on on the first day I laid out a few dresses, shirts, pants, etc. WITH the laundry slip completed to get these items pressed for the next day formal night. Items were taken while we were at dinner and the room was made up.
Next day no laundry. Alright, I thought, running behind we’ll have it by dinner time. 5 pm comes and goes and no laundry. I find my room steward and ask him about the laundry. He doesn’t remember picking up my clothes, but he will check with laundry after he finishes his rooms.
3rd day, no laundry. I go to guest services at 4 to ask for some help locating my clothes. They call the laundry room and they find my clothes on “hold” for the wash/fold day promo on the 5th day. I proceed to tell GS what I did on the first day and what happened so far. She did confirm paying for pressing is next day turn around, so she was not sure what happened, but I should get my clothes back tomorrow by dinner.
Long story short, I got my clothes back on the 6th evening washed and folded. Yes, my dry clean only items were washed. Oh, and I was charged per item for this wash and fold. I stood in a very long line to get it sorted out after I made it past the “bouncer” letting people in line. To this day they have refused to reimburse me for my ruined dresses. I never saw the room steward after day 4. He made sure he was in another room when we walked out the door. I should have taken a picture of the slip I filled out.

I attended one on another line several years ago and it was my last. I guess I don’t like to be around other people as much as I thought I did. I’m not anti-social by any means, but I have a specific type of people I like to be around if that makes any sense.

NCL Joy Family Suite SP
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
I'm looking at a 2026 booking. Does anyone know if this Family "suite" come with any suite amenities or is it treated like all other non-Haven room types?
