  1. HI There - I am leading a group of 45 on Carnival next week. We want to get the hub app as it is a great way for us to connect. Is there a way for you to send group messages? Like send one message and all 45 people in the group can get it?

I think you know what I mean. I cannot find any information on this, and carnival has not been helpful. Any first hand experience would be great.

    Thanks!

    David

  2. Seeing the way some people shoot photo's I suspect they'll be a lot of redo's. Camera resolution, lighting, glare, etc.

Which can all be done before the cruise. Someone at Princess will review what you submit (photos, passport scans, etc) and if it is not acceptable, they will have you redo it before the cruise.

  3. Not according to all the training that they have sent out. You will scan your passport and submit photo from home. When you arrive at the pier, security will verify its you by the photo you have submitted and you will walk on.

    Will never happen.

The check-in time will be reduced, but you still have to prove you are the person who is supposed to be on the cruise.

  4. All the training is showing that you will submit your own photo. I would assume that someone reviews that it is a picture of you and not of like your cat... but you submit your picture (again if you want to... but you can still do the old fashioned way)

I suspect they'll still be shooting a photo as you enter the ship. I can believe the photo's that some people will take at home will show sufficient detail.
  5. Immigration never checks your passport when you board the ship from the US, shore side services scans it into the computer. Whats the difference if they scan it or you scan it? and I never said you wouldnt have to go through security, I said you wouldnt have to check in with shore side services. You would be registered and then can just walk on... skipping the check it at the pier.

You will still need to go through security. Where the "just walk aboard" deal comes into play is they don't have to stop everybody to take their picture and such. With you medallion in hand your picture should automagically show up on their tablet so they can just smile and wave you aboard. Immigration is still going to want to physically check your passport. There is no way in the world they will let you bypass that process.
  6. The best thing I think with the Medallion is you can scan your passport at home, take your picture, and just walk on the ship when you get to the dock. No need to check in and get your keys or have your passport scanned. There are some really amazing things you can do and some of the videos have been great talking about how you can use all of it, or none of it.

  7. As someone who works in the Slot industry I can assure you that the casino operator cannot loosen or tighten a machine on the whim. The RTP (return to player) is determined by the casino and set. So a Lucky 7's slot at one casino may have a different RTP at another casino even though it is the same game, but the casino operator cannot just "network in" and change the RTP. Any perception of being able to loosen or tighten slots is only that, perception... RTP is set to pay the house over a long period of time and many slots are extremely volatile where they will have long runs of pays, and long streaks of loss where the player feels "it has to pay soon". The RNG in the machine does not know what your bet is, if you have upped your bet, lowered your bet, rubbed the machine, touched a lucky symbol, hit fast, hit slow, hit reels stop. Also walking away from a machine and the next person sits and hits there is no "they took my win" because the chip is always generating numbers, even when you are not playing, and the moment you hit bet, it determines the win or loss, the reels spinning is just show. This is the same on the cruise lines... its all perception, slot players are extremely superstitious...

  8. Would you mind sharing the number?😊 Thanks

I normally would have, but since so many people were so negative with me I don't want to. People need to be nicer on this board. It frustrates me to no end how many people are so negative and/or nasty here when people like me ask simple questions.

People were also so quick to post "it doesn't exist" without reading the entire thread even after I had posted that I was able to contact the Yield department and secure my upsell.

Next time, don't be so mean to people.

  9. Thank you - so you still pay for 7 days even if you purchase the package on day 2, is that correct

Just also to be clear, day 2, is the first Full day you are on the ship... sometimes they count the day you embark as day 0... in that case it would not be available after day 1...

Hope that helps (or did I just make it more confusing)

  10. Trying to figure out best option.

I am booked sip n sail

How much onboard credit to they give for balcony rooms?

    How much are gratuities?

This is for 7 day cruise on the new Majestic.

I think price is $50 cheaper...seems might be better to switch....especially 2nd person in my 2nd room is a minor.

How much is beverage package to buy?

    Thanks

    Kerri

Which Majestic cruise are you on? We are on May 14th out of Barcelona!

So I did the math, the Sip and Sail is worth $790 (if my math is correct). The 3 for free, we would get $100 off our cruise - lower by $50 pp now, $150 in OBC, and $195 in prepaid tips for a total of about $450... so we are still at a net net of $340 by keeping the sip and sail. So since the minor in your room throws a wrench in my math... You would probably come out ahead if you went with the new package though...

  11. I just got off the phone with my agency and they tell me they are indeed participating in the 3 FOR FREE promotion even though it isn't listed on their website. She also told me that the Princess agent was wrong and that any OBC that her agency is offering is on top of the Princess OBC offered in the promotion. That's a big difference in OBC!

Now I just need to decide who to believe! :D

You should be able to get it all.. as the OBC your TA would give would not impact the OBC from the promo

  12. Hi there-

I am 2 weeks away from a 1 day repo cruise... there are lots of cabins left including several full suites which they are charging a very high price for... I am figuring these will go on upsell, but I wanted to try and contact the Yield department to see if they could help me out and offer an upsell to me.

I am pretty sure I have seen here in the past a phone number or contact for Yield with Princess... but searching through the boards I was not able to find it.

Anyone know a way to call and ask about an upsell? (I know calling the general reservation number will get me no results)

    Thanks!

  13. Hi there-

Generally not a big fan of cruise line shore excursions, except when they have unique offerings that you cannot get on your own, or I am on a limited window and don't want to miss the ship...

that said we got the $50 per cabin per port excursion credit. I have only ever sailed with Princess and when you reserve your excursions, you are charged on your shipboard account, not pre pay (well you have that option, but why pay now when I can pay later)

When i go to book on NCL it wants me to pay for the excursion (not happy that it is a pre pay) but it is not accounting for my $50 (not that I can see anyway)

Anyone have any advice on this?

    Thanks!!!

    David

  14. I noticed on the excursion there is now a "sanctuary" bungalow in addition to the regular bungalow....

My question is, what is the difference (aside from what is listed in the excursion detail... I can read that... lol)

We have had the bungalows in Roatan and Grand Turk and LOVE them... just wondering if the "Sanctuary" bungalows are worth the extra $50....

    Thanks!
