  1. Cost us $14 from outside the Raddison to the Occidental. Do Not have a wet bathing suit. They will not let you in the cab. We had an incident where my dhs bathing suit was damp and he was literally screamed at and thrown out of the cab and made to pay a $30 fee. These type of cab drivers are making a bad name for all of the other cab drivers with plastic covers on their seats...be ware!

  2. We were here Thursday April 2nd and paid $75 per person. We got a wristband and had use of the pool, beach with chairs (plenty to go around) and float rafts. We had drinks, breakfast and lunch included, the food was just ok. Drinks weren't the best, they used some type of liquid mixes...not real fruit juices for the tropical drinks. I ended up drinking cosmos with absolute vodka, these were pretty good. We did get an umbrella because the beach patrol took down someone's bag holding the spot. He noticed it had been there since 5:30 am with nobody using it. Ask if someone can help you get an umbrella. The beach was pretty crowded because this is one of two resorts that will sell day passes. For this reason Id never stay here for vacation. All of the working resort people were very nice and the beach and water was beautiful.

  3. Doing research I found out March is a more expensive month for hotels.

Got a hotel...Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center Hotel and Casino for $151 a night (3 nights) . This hotel gets excellent reviews for location and the hotel itself. Going to explore Old San Juan more this time around.

    Priceline

    Bid 4*

PR - San Juan (Old San Juan - Condado)

    bid $145

    rejected

added PR - San Juan (Ocean Park - Isla Verde)

    bid $151

    won

  4. When we were waiting for the bus a taxi came by and offered us a ride for $2 a head. Six of us took the deal. I dont think it was that long a ride. We felt this area was very safe, lots of tourist. Most everyone speaks spanish...one thing we really should learn. I do believe there is a starbucks close to the hotel.

  5. What is around the MArriott San Juan Resort & Stellaris Casino to do, eat etc? Is it near things walking distance wise?

Have you stayed there before? Is it a nice hotel, worth it? Any room suggestions? Or any suggestions at all?

We stayed here a few years ago for 4 nights, 3 pre cruise and 1 post cruise. We loved it. Go to trip advisor for suggestions on the best rooms. Plenty of places to eat and buy groceries. We bought water and soda for the cruise. I got a great deal on priceline. Very safe in the Condado area. Bus stop right down the street to get to Old San Juan. Ill be staying in this area for my upcoming cruise in March.

  6. Does anyone know if there are some better days of the week to try and if a certain time of the day works better then others when trying to bid on Priceline?

I dont think a certain day or time makes a difference. I do know I booked through priceline winning a bid for the Marriot San Juan Resort and Stellaris in April for my upcoming (1/23/11) pre and post cruise stays and got the rooms for $110 and $107. Seeing others posting of not getting a room under $150 for the same dates Im glad I bid early. Now I really feel like I got a deal. I also booked my airfare early and found they changed the times for leaving and coming back. Not by a few minutes but completely cancelled the other flights. Im flexable so it wasnt a disaster.

  7. Just recently returned from AOS and brought everything in rum runners. All was packed in checked bagage. Not a problem at all. We also bought water, juice and soda in SJ and packed it in another bag and tagged it as a checked bag. All arrived to our room safe and sound. This saved us tons of money. We brought plastic bottles with a sippy top and made drinks to bring to the pool area everyday. Still bought dinner drinks and drinks at out favorite bar.
