We are booked in Penthouse 912.Have never sailed in a suite so far forward and so high.My wife is not a great sailor. I'm wondering if it will be to much motion since there are several sea days in northern latitudes.
Second question is the location of the suite convenient for getting around on the ship.Seems the only thing close is Observation Lounge and the Sky Bar.Thanks for your advice and input.

Bjarne was much more than a great Captain. In the Yiddish language their is a word that most describes Bjarne the word is Mensch. The meaning is { A PERSON OF INTEGRITY AND HONOR }.
Truly a great gentlemen and the most accomplished seaman that I have had the honor to sail with.

Sojourn denied entry to Male Maldives. We are now headed to Sri Lanka overnighting in Colombo 3/6 to 3/7 instead. This has been a cruise of surprises however Guests and Crew handling it with grace and poise. When you sail with experienced people changes and extreme news is taken in stride. We are all hoping Australia will be welcoming. We have never sailed in any port that is suspect for Coronavirus, the Maldives is just not letting ship land regardless of origin of guests or crew.Everyone on board is healthy and not been anywhere near affected localities.

Thanks Host Dan,the ship is the Quest.

Does anyone know who will be aboard as far as Captain and CD,Barbados to Lisbon. Thanks in advance for the info.

Thanks Curtly Wurly, your personal experience in 1012 is much appreciated. There is not much choice for Owners Suites in the desirable location midships, the suites at the bow are out for us to much motion.

Motion of the ocean? How bad was the motion that high up and forward?
My wife and I are booked in that cabin, and she suffers from motion sickness.Would hate to put her through that, thanks for your reply.

This has been a shock and sad tragedy for people that have sailed with and met this wonderful man.My wife and I had the pleasure of sailing with Captain Larsen in Antarctica in 2017.We had the pleasure of getting to know this great gentlemen and captain at several wonderful dinners. He was truly a gentle and caring person who loved the sea and especially Antarctica, his stories and knowledge of the region was amazing.
We have lost two great captains in the past months Captain Larsen and Captain Karlo, two men that epitomize the Seabourn Spirit, rest in peace my friends.

Mitchells Scottish Ale House, great place for lunch, the menu is casual with great comfort food. The beer and ale selections cover a wide selection for everyone's taste.Very reasonable pricing, and great people watching from the terrace.Located in the V&A easy access from all points.

Here is my opinion if it matters. While we where aboard last month on Sojourn we called on Santa Barbara California. My son and three grand children ages 5,11,13 came on board for a visit. After a tour of the ship and great lunch in Colonade with pizza from Patio Grill the children were bored. The next few hours where spent in our Wintergarden suite
Watching Disney channel, they said they had fun time but “they wish we had a kids center or more fun things to do”.So make your decision based on the fact that it is not a product that is designed for the AVERAGE young person. These young people love to cruise,we have taken them on three cruises that cater to young people and they can’t wait to go again.Hope this will help you make the right decision based on your knowledge of your family.

I just saw the pictures of the damage to the Soggy Dollar. My my it it so sad to see, however knowing the spirit that those folks have I'm convinced they will rise and rebuild. My hope is that no one was hurt.

The best thing to do is go to the Soggy Dollar bar, great beach and great libations. It is a short ride on the local free transpiration.Have fun and enjoy.

That is a shock , my wife and I where just saying Captain Karlo is one of our favorite captains ever. The saying the good die young, certainly fits this wonderful man.We will always cherish the wonderful days sailing with him.

Thank you so much for these great photos,it is much appreciated from us not on board. She looks like a beautiful ship, however I am interested to see if the 150 additional quests will make the ship feel crowded. Thanks in advance for any future photos and information.

I have been in the Wintergarden suite on each of the Odyssey class ships and on all the ships there is always a hall closet. My wife and I were just on Odyssey and the closet was still there.

We are booked next year for Antarctica in a Spa Suite. Can anyone tell me from personal experience what rough seas are like in that suite and what the view is like from the stern of the ship.We also have the choice of booking a Penthouse Suite, would love some knowledgeable input on what to do.Thanks for your input.

We also noticed an improvement in service a few days ago, and were told it was the result of "a management meeting" ealier that day.
The observant will have noted that several "suits" joined us in Cabo yesterday.
Apparently there has been "a lot of feedback already" about this cruise. They have been talking to guests to find out more.
Am hoping to meet one of them for a brief chat before we disembark......
Nigella, thanks for the update,we have a cruise in the near future on odyssey and have been a bit disturb by the negative comments recently.I hope they can get this situation under control. We all know nothing is perfect but hope it can be what we expect from Seabourn. Please keep us informed.

Thank you for your review,my wife and I are Diamond members like you and love cruising.Nothing in life is perfect, however Seabourn has always provided an exceptional product with exceptional people doing their best to provide you with an outstanding cruise experience .Is Seabourn perfect? of course not but they do strive to provide a exceptional product.I hope you are staying on board for the Jan 4 cruise, because I would LOVE to cruise with you.You are the type of person my wife and I seek out to enjoy the wonderful out of the ordinary experience Seabourn provides for a LUCKY FEW.

Emperor Norton thanks very much for the link,it sounds like it is possible to bring my folding bike on the ship.
-
I thought it would be great to be able to tour some of the ports by bike. However I am wondering if the ships staff can accommodate this request, given the days we tender and would require their help getting the bike to shore.Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
-
I have done that exact cruise 2 times, the sea conditions where very good very little motion. However this year is predicted to be a El Nino weather pattern, that changes everything. As we know you can never predict what Mother Nature will do.

The word on the ship is that the act was willful on the part of the woman.
If indeed this was a willful act of this person, what would have compelled her to select this venue. When to us a Seabourn cruise is a celebration of a life and living. This is very strange and sad story, probably we will never know what was in her mind.
Has anyone stayed in Penthouse 912 on Quest.
