  1. I like your TBL in your icon.

DW wants to know how available are porters at JetBlue LAX and San Pedro?  We are having a limo service meet us outside the baggage claim.

Sorry - I totally missed this! I can’t speak to Jet Blue as we were on Southwest. Leaving the ship we had no problem finding a porter - we had a later flight so we basically hung around on the ship until they kicked us off - maybe 9:30 ish and it was a breeze getting our luggage and getting out of there. Hopefully your experience will be the same - or better!

I am a little OCD so wanted to experiment with making some crafty paper inserts (for the plastic case thingy)  before our medallions arrive - would anyone have the dimensions of the insert they could share?

Also, ETSY is a great place to find custom / fun badge holders / reels - clip ons, belt loop style etc!

Thank you to everyone who has posted on this thread - great information!

  4. We just used Mid WilShuttle from San Pedro to LAX and they were great!  The co we had booked with cancelled last minute and Mid Wil were able to schedule something for us and the communication and service was outstanding.  We will use them next year for LAX to our hotel etc

  5. Also, in case you are not aware, you are allowed to carry on soft drinks or bottled water when you board, as well as bring them on in ports. A bit of a hassle, but can be a lot less expensive than buying a package. If you really want to save money with kids, you can also get free lemonade and iced tea in the buffet (as well as coffee, tea, and milk). And even beyond that, if you wanted to you can bring some of those one per bottle flavorings and add it to a glass of ice water (or bring your own container - just remember to fill it up using a fresh glass from the buffet).

This is all great info! If we bring a few sodas on board do they stipulate whether it should be bottles or cans? Thanks!

  6. We are sailing on the Triumph next year and looking to book a balcony cabin for my in-laws. They want as much sun as possible on the balcony. I have looked at all sorts of pictures on cruise deck plans etc. but was hoping to get some real world advice about balcony cabins that get more sun than others. We have sailed on the Victory but I like some shade so never really noticed whether or not there were balconies with minimal shade/covering. Thank you!

  7. My husband is convinced that we haven't gotten our cabin assignment for our 1/19 cruise yet because the IT guys at carnival have a pool going to see how many times a day I check the site...and assigning us a cabin will spoil their fun. I am convinced we haven't heard anything yet because they are going to suprise us with the best suite on the ship ... A girl can dream can't she?

This is our first gty and I feel like it is all part of the adventure!

  8. I believe all the ships have the "Cherry on Top". I always go in and drool, but never buy-my DH keeps reminding me I'm on a diet.

LOL- your husband and mine must be related.... and I would be "reminding" mine to sleep in his life jacket...

  9. This is an awesome review! We did this same itinerary last year on the Victory and had so much fun... We met some great friends ( thru CC) and many of us are meeting up again this December on the Valor. Our first Carnival cruise was on the Valor (western Caribbean) and we loved the ship....thanks for taking the time to do this ... And for the amazing pictures... Looking forward to more!
