Alcohol can kill viruses.
It doesn't have to be single malt.
Rubbing alcohol will work.
Thanks. Good to know. What about Clorox wipes? Will they just as well?

Just a scary observation. We are sailing on the Regal cruise in 2 weeks. I just received a tracking from fed-ex. The medallions started their journey in Singapore are now in Japan. I should receive them in PA tomorrow. I guess I can wash them in soap and water(or something stronger) since they can get wet. Has anyone else notice this?

Are D+ usually allowed in the CL on the Grandeur?

I appreciate your answers. We are booked in L106 next month. I was under the impression that these doors were never locked when I booked the cabin. Thanks for telling me what I was hoping to hear😊

Has anyone experienced forward balcony doors being locked when at sea? This was recently reported on a “live” thread. I sure hope this isn’t true😊.

We Are going on an Alaska cruise and then spending a week on land. My husband would like to have a pocketknife on the land portion. I know we can pack the knife in our checked luggage. Does anyone know if Princess will let in go through their security in checked luggage?
thanks in advance- Gail

I booked it through TripAdvisor/Viator (can't remember which; and they are affiliated companies). TripAdvisor/Viator did a 10% off sale for Black Friday/Cyber Monday last year that I was able to take advantage of. The helicopter company itself is Coastal Helicopters. Here is a link to the tour I booked: https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g31020-d11763517-Juneau_Shore_Excursion_Helicopter_Tour_and_Guided_Icefield_Walk-Juneau_Alaska.html
Even without the additional 10% off the tour price is still about $100 cheaper per person than booking the same tour through the cruise line.
We did run into a small snafu with this company though; their instructions were emailed to me to meet the van in front of the Red Dog Saloon, and my husband and I were there at the time we were supposed to be, and we didn't see their van. A couple walked down the road and asked us if we were waiting for Coastal Helicopters, as they told us the company was at the pier by the ship calling out our names. Finally we met up with the van and then everything went smoothly from there!
Edit to add: Picture from our Tour! He is holding a cup and I am holding a water bottle; both of which are full of pure glacial water we got on the glacier!
Thank you so very much. I have used Viator many times in the past. I will look into this excursion.😊

We went on the Celebrity Millennium this past August, and we booked some of our excursions privately and some of them through the cruise line. The ones we booked through the cruise line were not offered privately from what I could find (Glacier Bay NP Flightseeing from Icy Strait Point and Kroschel Wildlife Reserve from Skagway). Both of these trips also covered good distances away from the port, and it made me feel better knowing that the cruise line would absolutely get us back to the ship if anything went wrong.
I booked the Lumberjack Show in Ketchikan directly off their website and saved a lot of money doing so, and I booked a helicopter glacier landing/walkabout in Juneau privately for about half price through a Cyber Monday sale. The lumberjack show was walking distance from the pier, and the helicopter tour was the same operator used by the cruise line and had a guarantee that they would get us back to the ship on their dime if they delayed us. I also booked these two first thing in the morning so that we had buffer time in case anything went wrong.
What company did you book the helicopter glacier landing/walkabout? Cyber Monday is not far off.
Thanks in advance.

We were in Bermuda two weeks ago and the only thing you could not take off was fruit. As you left, they did check bags and asked if you had fruit.
What ship were you on?

"Hi Bonnie,
Florida tax only applies if the ship is within a specific range of land. We generally wait until we're outside of this range to transact the package purchases into our POS. The only instance that it might not happen is if we're heading to Key West and there isn't a chance to transact.
If Guest buys an Experience More package now, they can get the OBC for pre-cruise use. Just have them call the call center to make the purchase. If they choose to wait until they're onboard for the ExMo purchase, they can have it reversed but it will mean that they need to attend the Shorex Desk…in my opinion, it's better to buy ExMo pre-cruise, lock in the OBC and use it for the tour purchase(s)."
Bonnie, thank you soo much. I am going to purchase the Cuba excursion now, buy the ExMo package once on board with OBC and have the shorex deck reverse the charges. Bonnie, It is so nice to have you as a resource. (Uktog- thank you too.)

That’s exactly what I want to do. (Use my OBC) I want to use part of the excursion money for an excursion in Cuba. We are in Cuba on day 2. Does the excursion desk usually stay open late on departure day?

We are planning to purchase the essential package when we board the Journey in Miami. Will the package be subject to the 8% Miami tax?
Thanks for your help,

Transatlantic cruises don’t have Azamazing evenings.
This isn’t a transatlantic. It is a Cuba and Caribbean cruise. Miami to NYC. It was not advertised as transatlantic. When I pulled up the excursion brochure is the first time
saw the term “repositioning “ used.

Bonnie- we are booked on the March 25th sailing from Miami to NYC. (Cuba and Carribean). I just noticed that this is considered a repositioning cruise. Will we have an Amazing Evening?
Than you for all your help.

The essential package comes with unlimited internet for one device. As a discovery plus cruiser we get 120 internet minutes per person. If we were to book the essential package , would one or both of us be able to use the loyalty minutes on a second device?

hope maybe you can get this...did you like the room 12314..pros and cons to having this deck vs maybe say deck 9?? any thoughts on port side vs starboard?
We did sail in 12314. The room had a standard size balcony - Really only meant for 2 people. Sailing in November we were not able to use ithe balcony much.
The room was perfect for us because we were sailing with our 12 year old granddaughter and we were able to hop down the hall to the concierge lounge for coffee in the morning or have a quick drink in the evening.
