  1. We went on The Edge in 2020 and LOVED the entertainment!

We tried the enhanced Balcony concept (idk what they are calling it) and it was ok- I think we used it about as much as we would the regular balcony-lol.

But times have definitely changed everything- look forward to going on Celebrity again in October on Equinox.

  2. I have cruised on the MSC Meraviglia from FL - beautiful ship!

My words of wisdom - Check your bill at the end -- I assumed it was a charge and it was a credit on my account idk how -- but they wouldn't let me disembark -- It was less than $10 -- having an early flight to catch I had to sign a paper waving the cash -- BUT it did hold up the line and it was very annoying & totally my fault for not reading the final account correctly.

I will be following along:) Enjoy your trip!!!

  3. I am booked for end of Jan this year Rhine river cruise with Viking. Excited to be going to new places instead of another island again for our early winter vacation. I am okay being outside in the cold weather and have winter gear.

I do think it would be very interesting to take the same trip again once the weather warms up- it would be a totally different experience.

    Looking forward to the adventure:)

  4. I have a cruise booked for mid Jan 23 and just received air booking information with Viking yesterday - direct flight from Newark to Zurich on United - my flight information was on the United site and I was able to do an upgrade to economy plus for $139 and change my seat - I know it's just 6 inches more leg room but to me it was worth the price:)

    Enjoy your trip!

  5. At the beach club last June we had a 10ish min downpour - we went under the restaurant area - they had towels ready.

Also last June had a brief downpour and we were on the beach there - they did put down the umbrellas bc of the wind - we just stayed under a towel until it passed

A bunch of people headed back to the ship - most of the time it's just a passing  shower & we just wait it out:)

    Enjoy your trip!!!

  6. First night in Oasis central park balcony - the pool area is above and they forgot to turn off the music - at 3am I called the front desk and they sent security to my room to check - they could hear it was loud  - they apologized and assured us it would be shut off and it was within around 15 min it was peaceful quiet.

We did eventually change to a ocean balcony and lesson learned that the inside facing cabins are not for us-

  7. I made a list from different reviews of unique souvenirs to the areas we visited- here is what I have for Finland- enjoy your trip!

Finland--lingonberry jam, Anything that's reindeer-related (from reindeer skins to etched crystal to magnets), anything from Marimekko, wooden butter knives.

Helsinki’s famous Kauppatori Market Square, a colorful way to begin exploration of Helsinki. Once there, we purchased a one-day City Card, which gave us free access to sights, museums and public transport, including the Tourist Tram 3T, which makes a 60-minute round trip from Market Square and passes most of the city’s “must-see” sights, including the Senate Square and its beautiful cathedral.

  9. I do miss the trays- it was much easier - now I always have a tote bag with me to put in the silverware - one less thing to carry.

I would suggest you ask the hostess for assistance and a tray or any of the staff in the windjammer. I have found them willing to help - have asked for soy milk and they would go find me some -

    Have a wonderful vacation!

  10. On Oasis 2nd week of May - that had started seating people together again - we found out when we were seated at an 8 top the first night (no one else showed up- so an 8 top for just the two of us) - we did have another couple sit with us a few evenings (very nice chatting) - but I think it's hit and miss filling a table with all of the specialty dining experiences offered and the buffett is now also open for dinner.

  11. You can get the app on your phone and set up your account in advance.

When your ready to test log into your account (on a device with a camera) and follow the directions to begin - a company representative will come online and and check your ID, they will instruct you to open the box and how to administer the test (if you have a question ask them before doing something your not sure of - they also have pictures on the screen - (for me it was hard to look at them bc my laptop was angled down to show the test). Once you have completed the test - you must keep your camera on the test for the 15min that they time for you- once the 15min is up on they screen it will ask you to click if your ready and another rep will come online- don't move the test until they ask you to hold it up to the camera.

They email your test results within 15min- and you can get your results on the app. (they do not send them to the cruise line)

I just took one this morning - Neg:) so ready to go on Monday!

Good Luck - Just take your time and ask questions as they come up

  12. Booked for Anthem Jan 31 - we are planning on going - considering we can drive to the port it makes it easier to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks.

I hope that this covid serge has peaked and the cases start to go down in the next 2 wks.

Everyone in my house had covid a few weeks ago and we had head cold symptoms (healthy now).

My husband and I are on the Mariner on Nov 30th.  Our trip includes a day at Cococay.  It will be our first time at Perfect Day.  My husband uses a scooter and we are trying to get information to help us decide how to plan for the day.  He cannot walk through sand and he cannot tolerate too much sun.  I understand there is a tram that can take us to the different areas, but once we get there (where ever there happens to be) will there be easily accessible lounge chairs with umbrellas available or do we need a cabana/beach bed.  Also which area would provide the easiest access to bathrooms, eating venues and swimming?  Are the beach chairs the kind that can go into the water, or should we just plan on using the pool to cool off?  Any insights or tips on Cococay would be very helpful.

If the price is right the Beach Club would be my pick- they have plenty of shady areas to relax- easy access to the pool and restrooms. The food is included in the price and it is delicious- plus if you would like a snack during the day it's no problem- they had a delicious fruit bowl that hit the spot after an afternoon of swimming. The staff was excellent at the beach club.

I don't remember seeing any beach chairs that can go into the water- they did have loungers build into the pool.

Hope that is helpful and enjoy your trip!

  14. I think CocoCay is one of the best beach days! If you hop on the tram (they have a stop directly outside of the ship-so you don't need to walk in the hot sun) you can ride around the Island to get the lay of the land. The staff on the Island are very friendly and will be happy to answer questions.

I have to agree Chill Beach is great. CocoCay I have found to be family friendly and have enjoyed the included BBQ lunch.

I hope you get off of the ship and find it to be as an relaxing enjoyable a day as I have 🙂

  15. I waited 30 days - called and they emailed the certificates to me while I was on the phone - from what I understand they have to be used/booked by the end of April to use during a cruise before Dec 2022- they can only be used on cruise fare.

  16. Dear Guest,

We’ve been diligently working on our Royal Comeback - and it’s starting to shape up. It’s taken months of planning and coordinating and we’re still finalizing new homeports and communicating with local governments and authorities to ensure our new protocols maintain your safety and wellbeing.

As we continue down this path, we’ve decided to extend our suspension of some sailings through August 31, 2021. As a result, your sailing will unfortunately be cancelled.

I got the email today- surprised they canceled Aug also!

  17.

Check out the videos on YouTube -  Harr Travel gives a really good overview of Coco Beach Club, Floating Cabanas Full Walkthrough Tour & Review,  Perfect Day Coco Cay.

Also check out Trev and Chels on YouTube they actually go on the slide and try all of the food.

Last time we were there the area was still under construction.

From what I understand book asap bc the prices go up as demand increases.

Are you thinking a 10 day in Nov. '21 will be cancelled or changed?  Wouldn't that be enough time for 'things' to straighten out (hopefully)?

End of Jan 2021 was the cruise we canceled -- fingers crossed for Nov 2021 that's a full year away

  19. Thinking a bermuda cruise from NJ/NY port (local) this summer-  I want to see how the cruise lines are handling everything covid related first- I don't think it would be much fun to see the performers in masks- the rest of the staff sure np & I am fine with no self-serve at the buffet & wearing a mask in public nbd to me & using the cruise lines excursions also not a big deal especially in the caribbean.

I am concerned about purchasing travel insurance and would be careful to read exactly what it covers.

Will have to just wait and see how everything goes- never thought cruising would be shut down this long!

The cruise we canceled in 2021 was a 10 day - so it's going to be canceled now anyway. (CDC said 7 days max crusie)
