Are you on FB? You can confirm with him via messenger or regular post there, if you want.

2 years ago he just took CUCs, now tho he does take USD - with the exchange rate factored in.

In April it was 130 CUC or 150 USD.

Someone posted that he had increased his rate, not confirmed, and a recent change, if it is true. Still a bargain.

Search Blexie Havana Tours on FB.

As an aside - it is HOT in Havana in July, so be prepared.

I also receive via messenger and the cost was $185 and said I could pay with US cash. I was wondering since you don't do the walking tour they will have to use more gas and that is why the cost went up.

  2. We did MTD on Anthem, without reservations, in February. We went to dinner between 5:30 and 6 every night. The non reservation line was pretty long but it moved pretty quickly. The first night was an absolute nightmare due to being put in a section where the waiter had two tables of 8 who all had food allergies. All his time was spent trying to figure out what would work for each individual in that group. The head waiter took over those tables and we finally started getting our food, but it was a 2+ hour meal for us. The rest of the week was fine, we asked to be seated in a different area, liked our table and waiters, ended up getting them the rest of the week.

They will ask you if you want to make a reservation for the rest of the week at 5:30 or whatever time it is you go to dinner. If that works for you, I would do it. Definitely book a reservation for formal nights as those nights were really crowded and the line went out to the elevators.

So can I make a reservation once I get on board or do I wait until after dinner the first evening?

  3. The Captain's Circle event to welcome back repeat cruisers was fun.

I notice the band in the background of the pictures and was wondering if it was the band for when I was on the Regal in February. I loved that band and hoping they will be on board when I return to the Regal in January.

Thanks for any help you can provide, and by the way I love your review, thanks for taking the time, I look forward every morning to seeing you great pictures and review.

  4. Carnival's 'all off' time is 10am. Should be able to make the flight, as LAX is 30 minutes away with no traffic issues. Cruise line guidelines say flights should be after 1pm

Long Beach has lots of shuttles and taxis available. Shared shuttles run about $17. Flat rate taxi fare from Long Beach to LAX is $68.

Thank you so much. Airfare sales today and thinking I should book since it's over Thanksgiving weekend!

  5. Actually only 6,000 total cruisers is not a busy day, good thing you are not arriving in August. Two of the very small ships do not arrive until later in the day, the three others at 0700 and Princess at 0900. Doubt if you will arrive to the old part of town until close to 1000. You need to decide what option is best for you, check to see if Princess is offering a shuttle transfer and their cost. Taxi option is fastest, about a 10 minute ride, cost is 75 Kuna or 10 Euros, drop off point is the Pile Brsalje (square) next to the Pile gate entrance.

The main entrance to the wall is located just inside the arch closest to the Pile entrance. You can enter at that point, walk the sea side of the wall and exit at the halfway point close to the Maritime Museum. The walk is done counter clockwise only, traffic flow is one way only. If you walk the entire wall, you will exit once you reach the main entrance. Yes you can walk half, go down and reenter again later in the day, with the same ticket.

The Stradun is the main promenade, you will be able to stroll it and shop but I strongly recommend making any purchases on the side streets. The side streets is where you may find some of our locally made products. The town has far too many tacky souvenir shops with junk made in other countries. Most of the outdoor street vendors are not local and if you check closely you may notice "Made in China" on the bottoms of items.

Finding Buza I or II can be a bit tricky, you will need a map and good directions.

As a local resident I am unable to recommend any specific restaurants, as per rules of cruise critic. Do continue your research for a good lunch spot.

Enjoy your time here, do keep in mind that Dubrovnik in itself is a work of art.

Will I have time to do the wall and the cable car ?, and how far apart the the two. We are in port 7-7
