  1. Recommend the Marriot in the center of town.  Wonderful service and city tour options.  Most of all, it is near a Tim Hortans which serves the best coffee I have ever had and delicious muffins and donuts.  It can make a great breakfast or lunch.  Enjoy Vancouver.  It is a lovely city with friendly folks.

  2. I would strongly recommend the Norwegian Fjords cruise.  Of all the cruises I have been fortunate enough to take, that one was my favorite.  The scenery is breathtaking, and the tours provided give you an intimate view of the Norwegian landscape and people. The Norwegian people are very friendly and helpful.

However, the Northern European tour would certainly be an enjoyable alternate.

Whatever you decide, have a great time !

  3. I am traveling in October on the new Enchanted Princess and have been looking at the hotels in Civitavecchia for a precruise stay.  The one I'm interested in is the Port View Guest House.  Has anyone stayed there recently?  Any suggestions for a hotel for someone who has mobility problems and can't climb stairs?

  4. My wife and I had our 50th anniversary on the Golden princess.  We had a vow renewal conducted by the Captain.  It was just my wife and me and our guests.  We arranged the private ceremony prior to the voyage and coordinated with the cruise staff on the ship to schedule the ceremony at a time convenient for the captain.  There was a reasonable charge for the renewal that included flowers, pictures and champagne.   It was very well done and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  I would highly recommend it foryou and your spouse.

  5. I do not know about procedures on the Caribbean Princess, but on our last cruise on the Golden Princess we renewed our views to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. It was a private ceremony with the Captain presiding. Several of our friends attended making it even more meaningful.

The ceremony was lovely and respectful. My wife and I will remember it for the rest of our lives.

Incidentally, we purchased the basic package which was more than adequate, in my opinion.

I urge you to consider renewal of vowels on your cruise. I believe it will be the highlight of your vacation

  6. Amelia, great, informative review. So sorry about the plumbing problems, but, overall, it seemed to me you had a marvelous time with good friends and a wonderful wait staff.

We will be leaving on a Canary Island cruise in the future. Hope to see some folks from the last Royal cruise.

Can't wait to see you and Ken on the Anniversary cruise. We're really looking forward to that one. Take care and be well.

  7. So sorry you had to experience toilet difficulties on your very first day. You'd think the crew would be very responsive to such a problem. Glad it's resolved now.

Caryn and I are looking forward to seeing you and Ken on the Princess Anniversary Cruise in Dec 2015.

We've booked an Australia/New Zealand cruisetour beginning January 28, 2016. Would love for you and Ken to join us.

Have a great time on the rest of the cruise. I've always enjoyed reading your "lives from" which are always so informative. (Maybe Caryn will let me do a Baltic Cruise some day.)

  8. Please join all of us on our roll call for this cruise. My DW and I spent four years in England from 1977-1981. We were stationed at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk and lived in Bury St. Edmonds. If you have any questions, we have a great group on the roll call with years of cruising experience willing to share their knowledge.

If you'd like to contact us directly, my e-mail address is rehab444@yahoo.com and Caryn's address is ssbeagle@yahoo.com.

Welcome, I hope you enjoy this holiday and the lovely Emerald Princess.
