  1. lawskool10: Do you use the wet and wavy hair? I am wondering how this would work on my trip. I wanna be able to wash and put some foam in it and go. I might get a full sewn in but one of my friends said I should leave some hair out at the top to make it look more natural. I don't know about that. I just want that option after I wash it to either let it dry and curl up or let it dry and flat iron it straight.:confused::confused:

Right now, mine are bonded. I do not use the wet and wavy, as I like to wear my hair straight most of the time. I've been using the Remi hair. It's a bit more expensive, but it lasts a long time. If you get yours sewn in, it should last even longer than mine. I agree with your friend. I have my hair out at the top and it looks alot more natural, IMO.

  2. I am so happy if typed this in the Search box. I have been back and forth trying to think of what style I should wear my hair. I think I will do a wet and wavy weave. I have never had a weave since I have so much hair. But after reading these reviews I think I will go with the weave and just call it a day. My hair is so thick and curly. I go to the dominican salons sometimes for a blowout but it will only last for a couple of days. I would love to just keep my regular hair out but I just do not feel like spending 3 hours everyday messing with my hair.

Good call. I have a lot of hair as well, but I sport a weave. I find them to be very low maintanance.

  3. lawskool10, there are art fairs and there are art fairs--some have gorgeous high end pieces costing thousands of dollars that would never be considered costume.

But this thread is about costume jewelry, and I have bought what I would call costume jewelry (enamel, beads, glass--but not gems, sterling silver or 14/18k gold) at art fairs.

Your comment about muggers is just the point I was trying to make--wearing cheap jewelry that looks like gems or real gold makes me just as vulnerable as wearing the real thing.

I'm sorry that you have chosen to interpret my comments in a negative way--I don't think your remarks are helpful in a discussion about where to buy costume jewelry.

I don't think yours were either.

I DID give some suggestions, BTW.

  4. lawskool10, I think that cz is pretending to be diamonds and goldtone jewelry is pretending to be 14k. That just doesn't appeal to me.

I don't want to wear fake jewelry that might, at first glance, look like the real thing--I figure that a mugger isn't going to carry a jeweler's loup, and I'm just at risk with a three carat cz as I would be with a three carat diamond.

I don't see it that way. When I think of something being fake, I think of counterfeit bags and the like. I've seen lots of CZ and goldtone jewelry as well as the real thing. CZ and goldtone does not compare.

If a mugger really wants to mug someone, they are going to do it. Especially if you loook like an easy target.

I should say that it's fine that you don't CZ and goldtone jewelry. Your reasoning seemed a little "high horse", especially when you said you like jewelry from art fairs. I would not consider jewelry from art fairs to be "real" jewelry.
