  1. We did this tour through Native Choice pre-pandemic and had a good time. The bus was comfortable and the AC worked well. The tour guide pointed out interesting things along the way and it stopped once so you could buy fresh pineapple from vendors along the highway.

  2. We parked at Mobile port one time and it was a nightmare. But in all fairness, Mobile has streamlined their check in process and I've heard it's gotten better. But the next 3 times we cruised from Mobile, we stayed at the Microtel in Saraland the night before and used their free stay and park. The shuttle will take and pick you up and we've never had any problems with that.

  3. We used Hiring a Driver for the Day a few years ago. We told him to show us local landmarks, etc and we did that for the first couple of hours then over to the east side of the island. We've been to Coz many times and glad we did this to see places we normally might not see.

I was reading on the Dolphin Discovery website about their refund policies.

Has anyone ever been rained out or their ship skipped the port that require a refund or credit?  My concern is I don't know when I'll be back if they issue me credit.

Has anyone just shown up and done it?

The dolphins at these types of places are captive dolphins and some are not in the best shape. I think it's so sad to see these intelligent animals used in this way.

  5. We were in Belize last year and our shark/ray excursion with Coral Breeze was cancelled minutes before departing due to not enough people. So we ended up taking a bus tour of the city. Not the day we had in mind but we did get to tour the rum Factory and see some of the history. Not one of my favorite stops.

This is one of my favorites and size doesn't matter.  Cozumel.  Chankanaab Park.  google: Cozumel Parks

1.Get off ship and go to taxi stand right at end of port.  They will take you right to the Park.  It is like $15-$20 a van full, not per person.

    2. Inside is a GREAT snorkeling area.  Sturdy steps to get into the water (the water is not shallow).  Beautiful, plentiful fish.  Free loungers.  If you give your drivers license they will give you a free life vest.  You need to bring own gear unless you want to rent some. ( I just went on Amazon and bought our own OR go and get at sporting goods store.).

    3.  They have nice restrooms and shower areas.  I bring clothes and change before heading back, so I can shop at port on way to ship and not be all sandy.

    4.  If you like massages they are much cheaper than the ship.

5..  They have fake Mayan ruins and all of kinds of walk thru things.  Dolphins, Ziplines, etc.  Just go on their website.

    6.  Lockers for rent cheap.

Shouldn't this be on the Cozumel page and not Cayman?

Just jumping in to ask before I send an email. Has anyone seen Acyclovir 800mg down there? I will be in Coz in May and am in need of a refill. Little steep here, even for the generic, when you include the required doc visit to get a new rx.

Not sure if I've seen that specific drug there. Send Bobbie a request at Cozumel Drugstore and she will gladly answer any questions. She is very nice and will go out of her way to help you. Been dealing with her for over 10 years.

  8. I'm wanting to pick up a few Jamaica themed Christmas ornaments when I'm in MoBay the end of May. We've been there several times before and are hoping to find something in the vicinity of Doctor's Cave Beach. I've seen the Sunshine Gift Store and the Shoppers Mini Mart on maps but can't tell what they have for sale. Has anyone had any luck with this?

We winter in Chicxulub Puerto near Progreso.  While it is an interesting place, there is almost no surface evidence of the impact crater.   Evidence of the crater was found in oil explorations of the 1950's and  can be seen in satellite pictures.   Chicxulub Puerto has a small central square, and in past years I have met cruisers looking for directions to the impact crater.  The Yucatan is wonderful place, and the meteor helped to shape the geography.

    Great info.
