  1. Either choice, you can't go wrong! I can see your dilemma though. I absolutely love the Eastern Caribbean and usually that would be the deciding factor for me, but the Western also has it beauty. I have sailed on both size ships and in my opinion, I'm not a huge fan of the large ships. Yes, they have more to offer as far as dining and activities, but, on the ones I have been on, lack in customer service (larger ship, more customers). This is just my experience and opinion, I'm sure there are others who think differently. I cruised on Getaway last year. It's a beautiful boat for sure. I just feel the larger ships don't feel like boats at all.

In Nov I am cruising on the Jade out of Tampa. I chose this cruise because I live in the Tampa area and it's a smaller ship.

I think if I wanted to get away from the cold, I would choose the 8 day cruise and not worry about the ship. Either way, you will be in toasty weather!:p

  2. I have a bunch of questions....

    - Does anyone have recent main dining room menus available?

I haven't seen any lately. Sorry, can't help here

    - Does anyone have recent "dailies" available?

people have been requesting, but no one seems to put any up

    - OOcean Blue just showed up on my page today. Can that be booked in advance, or must it be booked on board?

I cruise in 23 days and I cannot see Ocean Blue either. I think it is the only one I can't see.

    - Can the private adults only area (I think it's called Vibe) be booked in advance, or only. On board? What is the current cost?

AS of right now, you cannot book ahead for Vibe. You have to try to get on board early to secure a pass. I believe the pass is $99 per person or you can rent a cabana for the week for $299 with $100 OBC. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    - Any other tips or tricks I should know about on this ship?

You can book the spa online

  3. Hi there! I'll be taking my 1st NCL cruise in September. Can anyone provide the link to purchase the Spa pass? I can't find it on the NCL site. Is it available on all ships? I'll be on the sky.

I purchased my from my "My NCL" page. It's with shore excursions and dining reservations. This is for Getaway. Not sure about all ships

  4. This is what I found about it. I don't think you get any scrubs though. I suppose you can buy them??

The Salt Room has its roots in the therapeutic salt caves of eastern Europe. The Salt Room on the Norwegian Getaway cruise ship is similar to the one on her sister ship the Norwegian Breakaway. Many believe that salt room therapy helps alleviate respiratory and skin ailments, strengthen the immune system, and promote better sleep. If it works as advertized, I think many of us could use a visit!

  5. Ok, I am a coffee snob. I admit it. I have searched the forum about the coffee pot used in the rooms, but all the post are pretty old. I have also read how bad the coffee is on the ship. I plan to bring my own coffee but need to buy pods for the coffee pot in the room. From what I can tell, It's a Hamilton Beach single cup pot (according to older posts). Would someone who has been on the ship recently tell me if that is still the pot? I am in a large balcony room (if that makes a difference). Thanks in advance.
