No, Tampa is not.

Thanks for such a wonderful review! I love your thoroughness! I travel on the Jade in Nov out of Tampa. Cannot wait for the cruise! Would you tell me the kind of coffee pot you had in your room? Janice

As said above, you can pre-book at 90 days, but be on top of it! They only sell a limited amount pre-cruise

Either choice, you can't go wrong! I can see your dilemma though. I absolutely love the Eastern Caribbean and usually that would be the deciding factor for me, but the Western also has it beauty. I have sailed on both size ships and in my opinion, I'm not a huge fan of the large ships. Yes, they have more to offer as far as dining and activities, but, on the ones I have been on, lack in customer service (larger ship, more customers). This is just my experience and opinion, I'm sure there are others who think differently. I cruised on Getaway last year. It's a beautiful boat for sure. I just feel the larger ships don't feel like boats at all.
In Nov I am cruising on the Jade out of Tampa. I chose this cruise because I live in the Tampa area and it's a smaller ship.
I think if I wanted to get away from the cold, I would choose the 8 day cruise and not worry about the ship. Either way, you will be in toasty weather!:p

The last time I purchased a pass before the cruise I had to pay up front. No charging until you are on the boat unfortunately.

Was it worth the cost for the week?
-
Thank you for your answer. I was hoping it was more like the getaway spa area. But I guess smaller ship, smaller space.

I have read that most of the spa is not coed. What exactly is in the coed section of the spa? The Thalasso Therapy Pool I hope??

Just off today. They only have plain creamer and milk. I brought my own, but it doesn't do anything for the coffee. It's terrible! I ended up buying coffee in the atrium the whole trip. I tried several places too. :(

I just got off the ship today. We walked off at 8am but they called at 745a. We arrived early. It's the best way to leave the ship because customs is not busy at all. Once they start calling color tags, it backs up quickly.

Void this message. I didn't see the date until after it posted.

I bought mine online a couple weeks ago. I saved $20 per person by buying it early. Don't know how long they will offer that with the changes though.

Upon checking my NCL summary, Ocean Blue just showed up today.
-
I have a bunch of questions....
- Does anyone have recent main dining room menus available?
I haven't seen any lately. Sorry, can't help here
- Does anyone have recent "dailies" available?
people have been requesting, but no one seems to put any up
- OOcean Blue just showed up on my page today. Can that be booked in advance, or must it be booked on board?
I cruise in 23 days and I cannot see Ocean Blue either. I think it is the only one I can't see.
- Can the private adults only area (I think it's called Vibe) be booked in advance, or only. On board? What is the current cost?
AS of right now, you cannot book ahead for Vibe. You have to try to get on board early to secure a pass. I believe the pass is $99 per person or you can rent a cabana for the week for $299 with $100 OBC. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
- Any other tips or tricks I should know about on this ship?
You can book the spa online

Hi there! I'll be taking my 1st NCL cruise in September. Can anyone provide the link to purchase the Spa pass? I can't find it on the NCL site. Is it available on all ships? I'll be on the sky.
I purchased my from my "My NCL" page. It's with shore excursions and dining reservations. This is for Getaway. Not sure about all ships

Here is a link I found with pictures. I hope it works.

This is what I found about it. I don't think you get any scrubs though. I suppose you can buy them??
The Salt Room has its roots in the therapeutic salt caves of eastern Europe. The Salt Room on the Norwegian Getaway cruise ship is similar to the one on her sister ship the Norwegian Breakaway. Many believe that salt room therapy helps alleviate respiratory and skin ailments, strengthen the immune system, and promote better sleep. If it works as advertized, I think many of us could use a visit!

I purchased passes for my cruise at the end of August. I have not used the spa before, but am so looking forward to it. I was able to purchase mine online and save $20 per person. Not much, but that's $40 less and I don't have to rush to get one when getting on board. Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks for all your answers! I was thinking about bringing my french press, but was worried about the clean up. If I could, I would just pack my Mr Coffee!
-
Ok, I am a coffee snob. I admit it. I have searched the forum about the coffee pot used in the rooms, but all the post are pretty old. I have also read how bad the coffee is on the ship. I plan to bring my own coffee but need to buy pods for the coffee pot in the room. From what I can tell, It's a Hamilton Beach single cup pot (according to older posts). Would someone who has been on the ship recently tell me if that is still the pot? I am in a large balcony room (if that makes a difference). Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your review! My husband and I cruise at the end of August. I was curious about the waterfall feature in Spice. Was it like a shower? I don't think I have ever seen pictures or heard of this. Do they have hot tubs in Spice?
-
There are definitely not many reviews on these. I am in 9132 in August. Would love to hear more about the balcony and the location of the elevators related to the room.

I was just reading an article here on cruise critic that NCL is making the Asian restaurant on the Star part of the complimentary package. I wonder if they will follow suit on the rest of the ships.
