    Thank you.  Will do!

  2. I am looking for the same answer.  We are on the Princess Sapphire leaving Vancouver on July 12.  My husband tends to get seasick in rough waters.  I note we will have two days of "scenic cruising" after we leave Skagway on our way to Anchorage.  Should I be worried?

  3. Feel the same way.

Glad to hear that. This is our first time on O and I'm glad there is no class system - I am happy to enjoy what O offers without being segregated because I did or didn't pay for a more expensive cabin.

  4. I am interested in hiking to Mount Tapioi. Can anyone tell me the location of it and how far it is from the cruise port. How would we get to the base - do we need transportation. Should we book a tour that takes you there and if so, which one? Thank you.

  5. I paid for my cruise, which includes the air arrangements, the first leg of which is on United Airlines, with my United Explorer CC that allows the first checked bag to be free. Looking at my reservation receipt indicates I will have to pay $25.00 for the first checked bag. I contacted O and United and was told that couldn't be changed, since O pays the airline directly. Has anyone come across this situation and been able to have the fee waived?

  6. I booked a guarantee back in July of last year when I booked my 5/9/17 cruise. I still have not been assigned my cabin. My TA contacted O and was informed they will not assign the cabin until the day of sailing. While it is disappointing not to know what cabin I will be in, that is okay with me.

  7. If you want them book them NOW most are sold out within a weeks of release I think they release them 90 days prior when the PH + crowd gets to pick for dinner.... The same holds true of booking La Reserve... "first hog to the trough".....

How do you find the cooking classes online. I went into my booking but cannot see any cooking classes. Are they on all sailings?

  8. Are we confusing two Patrick's? There is Patrick of Patrick's Aventures in Pape'ete,Tahiti, and there is also a Patrick of Maohi Nui in Bora Bora ( who has a daughter named Vaitiare who handles the bookings). It is confusing, as the Maohi Nui tour is often referred to as "Patrick's Tour", but as far as I know, these Patrick's are two different people on two different islands.

Sorry - Yes, you are right. I was talking about Patrick in Bora Bora.

  9. Be excited, read up, learn and come with anticipation. My experience was Jan 2017 and I was told things have changed... Dont expect anything like Hawaii . Hawaii is a well oiled tourist industry...THE LUAU AND ALL SORTS OF oof major resorts having dozens of shows and dinners... ( most having nothing to do with Hawaii or hawaiian culture) In Polynesia very few resorts and none large. Bora Bora the huge center for $$$$ tours and hotels has seen 3 of their hotels /resorts go bankrupt... There may be little pier side music and several dancers in Nuka Hiva, Bora, Raitea, Fakarava, but they are not shows per se just folks beating on drums and a few dancers.... NOTHING like the Polynesian center ( which is a polynesian disneyland) Your going to a remote area of the world for its beauty and landscape.. Some tours may have a little dance and music but nothing on your past experience. You will have a good time IF you dont expect a French Hawaii..... its way way less... its like Hawaii was in the 50's earily 60's

Thank you Hawaiidan for your comments. I am sure I will LOVE all of the islands and whatever dances / music is provided. I loves Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center and I did see quite a change from the first time I visited in the 1970s to the last time in 2007.

  10. No...there isnt any....this is not what is available not "local shows" We stayed at a up scale resort on Moorea after the cruise and entertainment was a 20 min canned music with 3 dancers and pretty boring,,, even canned drum music.....this is not vegas.... you bring you entertainment.

I guess I was hoping to see something like the show that is put on at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Oahu, which I saw several years ago and also a long time ago when we visited Hawaii. It was then that I put the Polynesian Islands on my bucket list. I am finally going and am so excited!

  11. You should find out if Oceania will let you self-disembark. When we were on a Celebrity cruise ending in Rome, our schedule to get to the airport was kind of tight. Celebrity let us self-disembark at 6:30 AM. We had to bring our own luggage down, and we had arranged to be picked up at 7:00 AM. We had no problem getting to the airport and checking in, etc., in plenty of time. I don't know what time your ship actually gets to port, but most likely if they are telling you you can disembark at 8 AM, I would think you could self-disembark earlier.

  12. Exactly. Single PNR means a single ticket - even if it is for a number of flight connections. If airline issues this type of a ticket they assume that the connection time is "legal" and thus they assume the responsibility to get you on another flight if you do not make the connection.

At ORD I have seen airline employees waiting for passengers with tight connections to facilitate the process and help them make the connection.

I agree that it is a very tight connection and you may choose to pay the extra fees if that will make you more relaxed about making that connection but you don't need to - airline is obligated to take care of you regardless of the fare class of your ticket (though not necessarily on the very next flight).

Where would I find "PNR" I have a confirmation number but no letters.

  13. We got our air arrangements from O for our 5/9 cruise from Tahiti and I am satisfied with the arrangements, Newark to PPT. My question is: When we get to LAX we have a 4.5 hr. layover and I would like to use the United Lounge (I have passes). I understand that we will be arriving at Terminal 7 and departing to PPT from Tom Bradley International. Can we check in for the Air Tahiti Nui flight from Terminal 7 in advance or do we have to go to TBIA to check in? If so, can we check in at TBIA and then go back to Terminal 7 for United Lounge? Is that doable? Or do we first go to United Lounge and only spend a short time there and then leave for TBIA? How much time before we need to check in?

  14. I just read a review by Capt. Nanji of the January cruise. He stated that O provided that the facilities at the Le Meriden Hotel could be used for passengers who had to wait until evening to fly home on the last day. This is very good news if it applies to all passengers. Can anyone elaborate?
